Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat(Jurnal AbdiMas Polibatam) adalah jurnal multidisiplin ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Pusat Penelitian Pengembangan dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (Pusat P2M) Politeknik Negeri Batam. Tujuan publikasi jurnal ini adalah untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran konseptual atau ide-ide dan hasil penelitian yang telah dicapai di bidang pengabdian masyarakat. Jurnal AbdiMas Polibatam berisi berbagai kegiatan dalam penanganan dan mengelola berbagai potensi, kendala, tantangan, dan masalah yang ada di masyarakat. Abstract

In 2018, Batam State Polytechnic has carried out community service in the village of Pasir Panjang, Rempang Island. Pasir Panjang village is one of the villages that is still not electrified by the local electricity company. The village also experiences difficulties in providing clean water because of its location on the coast. Therefore, the dedication of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the State Polytechnic of Batam in the form of grants and installation of water pumps for public facility with an independent power source from a 100WP solar cell. The problem arises when after carrying out the installation, the water pump cannot pump water properly. In the following year, the service was continued by making improvements to the electrical installation system. Starting from the analysis of the causes of system failure to repair. From the analysis and observation, it is known that the cause of the pump not working properly is due to a decrease in voltage because the Rs value in the solar cell system is quite large. By changing the cable size for current distribution, this problem can be resolved.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity has two objectives, namely, to carry out one of the tri dharma of higher education, namely community service through the implementation of knowledge held to the community and providing training and assistance in preparing financial reports to MSMEs in Batam City based on a standard. With this training and mentoring, it is expected that there will be an increase in the ability and transfer of knowledge in MSMEs. Benefits: Having been able to prepare financial reports according to standards can be one of the requirements for MSMEs to develop their business by submitting additional capital to third parties such as investors, banks, creditors and others. Then, this activity is expected to increase the activity of the community's economy and have implications for increasing family income in Batam City. Problems: The low ability of MSMEs in making financial reports based on accounting standards such as making reports of cash flow, profit and loss, and financial position. This problem becomes one of the obstacles for business to be sustainable. Methods: The service is carried out in three stages, namely, preparation, implementation, including information gathering, material preparation, material delivery, practice, monitoring, and evaluation, and reporting. In the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic, it is not possible to conduct direct or face-to-face training and guidance, therefore these training and mentoring activities will be carried out online. The media used by WhatsApp and Zoom.

Abstract

In this digitalization era, the role of the computer is very important to activate the manual system with all its limitations. The recording of sales transactions at PD Mie Ayam Berkah often errors results in calculations and recording so that the reports of doubtful accuracy. This service is purposed to design the Sales Accounting Information System by utilizing Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Program on PD Mie Ayam Berkah in order to help make sales reports more precise, fast, accurate, and relevant. The method used is the interview method and direct review to understand the sales recording system used to design a sales accounting information system. Based on the dedication that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the design of a sales accounting information system at PD Mie Ayam Berkah can simplify the process of recording and reporting transactions so as to produce the information faster and more accurate. In addition, users of the sales accounting information system are also equipped with skills in operating the system so that the sales accounting information system can be properly organized.

Abstract

This community service begins with the understanding that the Geospatial Information Law No. 4 of 2011 mandates that geospatial information must be disseminated and known to the wider community. On the basis of this geospatial information law, community service activities are carried out for coastal communities and small islands regarding the understanding and skills of the Nongsa community, regarding the determination and mapping of fishing areas (MFA), and chlorophyll maps and depth maps, for approaches to Potential locations in the DPI are important so that coastal communities and small islands recognize the potential and spatial problems on Batam Island. This problem will certainly have an impact on the economy of coastal communities, with it being very difficult to determine the location of fishing, which is the main livelihood for the community. This activity includes the development of science and technology to the community, especially in the use of marine technology that can assist in determining fishing areas which will later help and create independence for coastal communities in Mubut Darat in determining fishing spots or areas in the area. The output of this community service program is increasing the understanding and skills of the community in the Nongsa sub-district, Batam regarding the determination and mapping of fishing areas (MFA), providing planks, making maps of fishing areas and developing teaching materials (textbooks) in Batam City. This activity ran smoothly and provided very new knowledge for the people on the island of Batam-Nongsa.

Abstract

Mubut Island needs to carry out promotional activities through social media, not only conventionally by word of mouth. This is done so that the Pulau Mubut Tourism Village is increasingly known and visited by many people. Considering the age of the managers and their activity, as well as the target of visitors from Mubut Island, it was decided that the promotional media that was optimized in 2022 was Facebook social media. Because in the future it will be the managers who will manage the promotional media for this Tourism Village, it is important to train these managers to be able and proficient in optimizing their Facebook social media. The training activities will be evaluated by measuring the managers's ability to optimize the Facebook media of Mubut Island. As a result, the managers was able to optimize the promotional activities of Mubut Island through social media Facebook, namely by looking at the manager's activity in posting and the increasing number followers.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic requires elementary and junior high school students to do online learning activities at home. In practice, children interact more often with their gadget during online school hours and outside these hours. Its a concern for most Graha Nusa Batam community residents because the children there are already starting to have symptoms of gadget addiction. Against this background, Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) held a robotics technology workshop program for children aged 8-15 years. This activity aims to increase children's understanding of robotics technology, which includes electronics and mechanics. In addition, this activity provides several benefits, namely: being an attractive alternative for children to reduce playing with their gadgets; provide children's experiences in problem solving, creativity and collaboration; and include field experience for Polibatam students by applying the knowledge gained through Project Based Learning (PBL) for the benefit of the community.This workshop held four meetings (March to April 2021) at the At-Taqwa Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) building, Graha Nusa Batam housing. The robot used is an analog line follower. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to measure the increase in participants' understanding of the material. This test shows that participants' knowledge of robotics technology can increase up to 25% for participants aged 8-11 years and 22% for 12-15 years.

Abstract

One of the promotional media of Mubut Island, that website, has been completed at the Batam State Polytechnic service activity in 2021. As a follow-up to this activity, the 2022 service needs to optimize the website promotion media which is also planned to be implemented in 2022. Because it will be the manager who will manage this website in the future, it is essential to train them so they can and are proficient in optimizing it. Website optimization will be done using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. First, the training will bring in an SEO practitioner. In addition, learning videos will also be made involving Project Based Learning (PBL) students. This learning media will also be given as an investment in knowledge in the future if something is forgotten. Website analytic data will be collected using the HiStats tool during this optimization. As an evaluation material for this service activity, the manager's ability to optimize the website will be reviewed by looking at the condition of the website after the training. In addition, it analyzes the improvement of website visitors before vs after optimization. The result is the website to be at the top of search engines, and the number of visitors to the Mubut Island tourist village website will increase significantly.

Abstract

The shift from an industrial city to a tourist city in Batam may have a negative impact on the sustainability of its coastal environment, one of which is on Mubut Darat, which is planned to become a tourist destination. In addition to science, there is a need for a cultural approach through ecocriticism to reduce and prevent the negative impact of damage to the environment, disguised under the need for development. It is clear that humans are part of nature and the dualism of culture and nature is one of the main issues in ecocriticism. The main purpose of this article is to explore the perspective of the local community regarding the development of tourist villages and the problems of damage to the environment that goes along with it. The data were obtained through interviews with the managers of Mubut Darat beach and Batam Pos crews. Through the interview, informants are invited to participate in a dialogue, receive feedbacks, and express their opinions. The resulting short story is published in the form of a short story in Batam Pos' Zetizen column as a medium to promote Mubut Darat beach and offer readers perspective on environmental issues. According to the interview, the characters, plot, and setting of the story are interesting and easy to understand. However, the issue of environment is not suitable to be conveyed through the genre of romance.

Abstract

This service activity has two objectives. First, increasing the understanding of halal certification for MSMEs in Batam City. Second, helping SMEs in Batam City to prepare halal certification documents. This activity is carried out to overcome problems in MSMEs regarding the management of halal certification. This activity is expected to be useful for MSME Managers so that they understand the urgency of halal products, then MSME products are halal certified, and finally as a means of student learning. Based on the results of the assistance, many MSMEs want to take care of halal certification but are still confused about the preparation. This activity contains socialization, training, and mentoring. Assistance is provided to 6 (six) business units.

Abstract

Halal products are products that are starting to be looked at by the market today. One of the goals of the Indonesian government, under BPJPH, in 2024 it is hoped that products, especially food and beverages in Indonesia, will already have halal certificates so that they can increase the attractiveness of pariwasata for Muslims around the world if they visit Indonesia. Based on the new legislation in 2014, namely law no. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee, the halal certification process is carried out in synergy by various parties, one of which is the halal product guarantee organizing body (BPJPH). Halal product process assistance is a process of verifying and validating halal statements by business actors (self-declare). This activity serves to assist micro and small business actors in meeting product halal requirements. The purpose of this community service is to find out the level of understanding of prospective halal product process assistants in Batam City, service activities are carried out with 3 stages, namely surveys, socialization and training activities and the last stage is evaluation and reports. This activity is supported by BPJPH and Bank Indonesia as additional sponsors for activities to be carried out offline and online.
