Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study which aims to determine the relationship between interest in learning and origin of major on the learning achievement of students in the STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar Informatics Engineering Study Program. Interest in learning is one of the internal factors that influences learning achievement, while the origin of the major is the major that the student has taken while in high school. There are a total of 61 students from the STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Informatics Engineering Study Program in the Class of 2023 using purposive sampling because the Class of 2023 are still classified as new students and already have a Grade Point Average (GPA). The instruments used are observations and questionnaires, which have been tested for validity and reliability. The data was analyzed using a multiple linear regression analysis model. The results of the research show that there is no significant simultaneous influence between interest in learning and origin of major on the learning achievement of students in the Information Engineering Study Program at STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar with a significance value of 0.007.

Abstract

The Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) is the foundation of universities in improving the quality of education and the quality of graduates. The MBKM program gives students the right to take part in off-campus learning for three semesters, and the programs that students can take part in during off-campus learning are student exchange, internship/work practice, KKN, entrepreneurship, academic research/research activities, independent study, and take part in campus teaching programs, and so on. This research aims to analyze the MBKM policy at UNESA in its implementation and how to face challenges in its implementation. This research uses a literature study approach (literature review). Researchers collect data by identifying, evaluating and synthesizing research relevant to the topic of MBKM Policy Implementation at UNESA. The results of the research show that UNESA has implemented the MBKM program well, in its implementation it is always supervised and monitored by the campus, and in facing existing challenges the campus always improves it. Students are also provided with work experience and practical skills that make individuals ready and competent to contribute to the world of work through the MBKM program.

Abstract

Education, in addition to developing all potentials and achievements, also serves as a place for character formation, one of which is the character of discipline. Discipline character can be developed through the provision of rewards and punishments. This research aims to determine the application of reward and punishment as an effort for character education in discipline for elementary school students. This research was conducted at one of the schools, namely Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Suruh, Suruh District, Trenggalek Regency. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative research. The research activities were conducted in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data. The subjects in this study are three fifth-grade elementary school students and their teacher. The results of the research conducted show that the provision of rewards and punishments can bring about positive changes in students. These changes are marked by an improvement in the students' discipline. Thus, the proper implementation of reward and punishment can be a solution for teachers and students to create a conducive learning environment. The importance of collaboration between teachers and in supporting character education discipline is also a key factor in the success of its implementation.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of collaborative learning theory in high school education through a comprehensive literature review. Collaborative learning is an educational approach that encourages students to work together in groups to achieve shared learning objectives. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of this approach in enhancing student learning outcomes, active participation, scientific attitudes, and critical thinking skills. The methodology involves the collection, selection, and analysis of relevant literature from various sources, including scientific journals, books, and research articles published between 2018 and 2023. The findings indicate that collaborative learning significantly improves students' academic performance and fosters a more interactive and dynamic learning environment. Additionally, it highlights the versatility of collaborative learning, demonstrating its applicability across various subjects, both in the sciences and humanities. The study concludes that implementing collaborative learning strategies can create a more engaging educational experience, promoting deeper understanding and motivation among students. This research underscores the importance of innovative teaching methods in enhancing educational quality and preparing students for future challenges. Overall, the study advocates for the integration of collaborative learning in high school curricula to optimize student learning experiences and outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of problem-based learning on students' science literacy skills in the excretory system material for grade 11 science students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai. This research was a quasi-experimental study using a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all grade 11 science students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai in the 2023/2024 academic year. Cluster sampling was used to obtain two classes as samples, namely the experimental class (XI MIA 2) and the control class (XI MIA 5). Data was collected using a science literacy test instrument consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions, developed based on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) framework, which measures three science literacy competencies: explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically. The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class (using PBL) was higher (81.67) compared to the control class (61.06). The Independent Sample T-test showed a significant difference between the two groups, so the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that PBL has a positive effect on improving students' science literacy skills in the excretory system material.

Abstract

The application of innovative learning methods is essential. One method that attracts attention is Discovery Learning. Along with advances in technology, the integration of learning aids such as Power Point has become an important aspect in supporting the teaching process. This research aims to obtain results from the implementation of PPT-assisted Discovery Learning on animal tissue material at SMA Negeri 1 Pamarayan. This research was conducted in September-October 2023 at SMA Negeri 1 Pamarayan with research subjects totaling 41 students. The implementation system consists of four stages, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research results show that this model is a powerful instrument in efforts to improve student learning outcomes in the field of biology, as can be seen from the improvement in student learning outcomes. The use of the Discovery Learning model supported by PowerPoint media can increase student learning motivation. Visualization of abstract concepts through Power Point makes complex animal tissue material easier to understand and interesting, thus triggering students' curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. This increase in results occurred due to the influence of the discovery learning model which requires students to be able to obtain their own knowledge and information. Apart from that, students are required to play an active role in the learning process so that it becomes easier for students to accept learning, so that students' learning achievement increases.

Abstract

One of the learning methods that can be used to increase student motivation and activeness is the outing class method. This method allows students to actively participate in learning, talk about the concepts and values of heroes' struggle, and develop their critical thinking skills. Hero history material is a subject rich in narrative, conflict, and culture, which allows students to understand the importance of nationalism early on. . This research is also expected to provide an understanding of how the learning approach is in accordance with the learning interests of grade VI students of SDN 65 Parepare. This research applied Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was conducted in two rounds. Each round involved Pre-action, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. By applying the outing class method, there was an increase in student participation and involvement in the learning process. They were more actively involved, and the number of students from 17% increased to 87% after the second cycle was conducted, especially in sharing opinions and playing an active role in the implementation of contextual learning outside the classroom (outing class).

Abstract

Beauty is a Wound and Midah the Sweet Gold-Toothed and Beauty is a Wound are novels that take women as their main characters. The novel Midah the Sweet Gold-Toothed by Pramoedya Ananta Toer and the novel Beauty is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan are two great works that have received various awards. With the theme of women's struggle, these two novels interpret beauty that is constructed through female characters. This study aims to describe the construction of beauty in the novel Midah the Sweet Gold-Toothed and the novel Beauty is a Wound with a qualitative descriptive approach. The method used in this study is comparative literature, especially to find similarities or differences in the two novels. The theory of beauty construction with the approach of Sigmund Freud's literary psychology is used to obtain the meaning of beauty from the personality of the female character. The results of the analysis of the two novels construct beauty not only about beauty from the inside or outside, but also as a view that beauty can bring misfortune and disaster. The comparison of beauty that emerges from the novel Midah the Sweet Gold-Toothed focuses beauty on one character's personality that is the center of the storyline, namely Midah. The novel Cantik Itu Luka is reconstructed by several female characters such as Dewi Ayu, Cantik, Alamanda, and Aneu with the various stigmas they receive..

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of alternative technology-based learning media other than Powerpoint in the tissue culture lecture process and the difficulty of biology education students in understanding technique-based tissue culture material due to the absence of a tissue culture laboratory. Given these problems, researchers developed digital comic learning media equipped with factual videos to help students understand the material well. This research aims to (1) produce appropriate and effective learning media based on digital comics based on the assessment of material experts. (2) produce appropriate and effective learning media based on digital comics based on the assessment of media experts. (3) produce appropriate and effective learning media based on digital comics based on student responses to the tissue culture course, material on tissue culture techniques in callus culture. The development model used is the ADDIE model with research subjects of 26 biology education students. The development of digital comic learning media equipped with factual videos has met the validity and effectiveness criteria with the conclusion that the learning media is very good to use based on the results of the material expert validity questionnaire with a score of 90% and the media 83.16%. The effectiveness results obtained from the student questionnaire were 91.21% in small group trials.

Abstract

The implementation of the Driving School Program at SD Negeri Tamansari 03 Jakarta faces challenges in implementing learning with a new paradigm, which causes this program to not run optimally. This is reflected in the low quality of schools in literacy and numeracy. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of the driving school program using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) method. This research involved school principals, teachers, students and parents using data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation and document study. The research results show that the driving school program which consists of five intervention activities, namely consultative and asymmetric assistance, strengthening school human resources, new paradigm learning, data-based planning, and school digitalization can improve the quality of learning, learning outcomes and student character. This is proven in the education quality report at SDN Tamansari 03 in 2024 which saw an increase in the literacy, numeracy and character aspects of students by 83.33%, while the learning quality aspect was 73.71%. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the driving school program contributes and has a positive impact on improving the quality of education at SDN Tamansari 03 Jakarta.
