Abstract

Background: Technology membrane the more develop be one application important in field biomedicine that is dialysis in the hemodialysis process. Instrument dialysis use membrane fiber hollow made of from polymer synthesis so that the price is expensive and in Indonesia the technology This Still left behind Far. Therefore That need alternative in availability membrane as material making membrane. One of them utilise cellulose from TKKS waste.Objective: To determine the effectiveness of solvent variations in TKKS cellulose membranes in reducing creatinine levels in vitro.Methods: Cross sectional analytical observation. Quantitative testing uses Uv-Vis Spectrophotometry.Results: Membranes with a variety of solvents can reduce creatinine levels, i.e membrane more DMAc solvent effective lower rate creatinine at each cycle with rate initial 3 mg/dL, time every cycle 3 minutes 55 seconds. DMAc membrane capable lower rate every cycle namely 0,509 mg/dL, 0,486 mg/dL, 0,476 mg/dL, and 0,463 mg/dL.Conclusion: Membrane TKKS uses cellulose more DMAc solvent effective in lower rate creatinine. So that need done study more carry on in its application in the health sector.

Abstract

Background: The problem of dry and chapped lips is often experienced by women. This is due to a lack of nutrition and care for the lips, so there is a need for cosmetic products that can be used to moisturize and nourish the lips from the outside and inside. Argan oil is a natural ingredient that has the potential as a moisturizing agent which can be formulated into a lip serum preparation that can moisturize and nourish the lips. This research aims to determine the most optimal formula and concentration of argan oil and its effectiveness as a moisturizing agent.Objective: To determine the effectiveness of argan oil lip serum preparations as a moisturizing agent in vitro.Method: The method used was a true experiment using the Sorption Desorption Test (SDT) and analyzed using a one-way Anova test with p-value <0.05.  The lip serum preparation formula is designed using 5 formulas with different concentrations of argan oil, namely 0%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%.Results: The effectiveness value was calculated by the total [AUC] value determined by the amount of weight lost during storage. The smaller the weight lost, the greater the effectiveness of the moisture, and vice versa. The results of observations of effectiveness tests on lip serum preparations of argan oil with a concentration of 30% had the smallest weight loss and the highest total [AUC] value. Based on the results of statistical tests, it shows that there is a significant difference with a p-value of 1.5938E-08 (p-value < 0.05).Conclusion: In this study there were significant differences in the effectiveness of the moisture of 5 (five) formulas. Argan oil lip serum preparations with a concentration of 30% have the best moisturizing ability.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Salah satu kendala utama dalam pengembangan membran dialisis adalah bahan baku polimer yang merupakan bahan baku utama dalam fabrikasi membran, salah satu cara mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah dengan mengembangkan dan memanfaatkan polimer alam berupa selulosa tandan kosong kelapa sawit.Tujuan: Melihat pengaruh konsentrasi selulosa pada membran selulosa tandan kosong kelapa sawit terhadap penurunan kadar kreatinin.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode true eksperimental dengan menggunakan instrumen Forier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) dan spektrofotometri UV-Vis.Hasil: Selulosa TKKS dilakukan uji FTIR menunjukkan adanya gugus C=C pada gelombang 1525, gugus -CH pada gelombang 2920 dan -OH pada gelombang 3423. Hasil kadar kreatinin setelah melalui filtrasi membran selulosa F1 siklus ke-1 0,519 mg/dl, siklus ke-2 0,513 mg/dl, siklus-3 0,506 mg/dl, dan siklus ke-4 0,5 mg/dl. Pada membran selulosa TKKS F2, siklus ke-1 0,495 mg/dl, siklus ke-2 0,445 mg/dl, siklus ke-3 0,354 mg/dl, dan siklus ke-4 0,325 mg/dl. Sedangkan membran selulosa TKKS F3, siklus ke-1 0,277 mg/dl, siklus ke-2 0,212 mg/dl, siklus ke-3 0,194 mg/dl, dan siklus ke-4 0,163 mg/dl. Pengolahan data uji Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Asymp. Sig.) sebesar 0,007.Simpulan: Terdapat pengaruh konsentrasi selulosa pada membran terhadap penurunan kadar kreatinin secara signifikan

Abstract

  Background: skin care cosmetics are body cleansers commonly known as soap. Soap is available in dosage form and is available in solid and liquid dosage form. Liquid soap is a preparation that is widely marketed because it is easier to use, the advantage of liquid soap is that it is easy to carry, store, and is more hygienic and does not get dirty quickly.Objective: To determine the effect of varying concentrations of palm kernel oil (Palm Carnel Oil) on the optimal formulation of kepok banana peel extract (Musa normalis L.) liquid soap formulation based on the results of physicochemical evaluationMethods: The research method used is experimental which provides intervention/manipulation and treatment of cause and effect of measurements.Conclusion: Of the four formulas in making liquid soap preparations from kepok banana peel extract (Musa normalis L.) with a base of palm kernel oil (Palm Carnel Oil), the best results were obtained from formula 1.

Abstract

Background: The 2018 Riskesdas results the prevalence rate of hypertension in residents > 18 years based on national measurements of 34.11%. South Kalimantan Province has the highest prevalence of 44.13% (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2018). Objective: The description uses antihypertensive drugs in South Kalimantan using samples from the Sultan Suriansyah General Hospital, Banjarmasin. Methods: This research was quantitative with an observational method with a cross-sectional design, data were collected retrospectively. This research took the form of patient medical record data at Sultan Suriansyah Hospital from January 2021 - March 2021. Results: There were 138 hypertensive patients were taking antihypertensive drugs including CCB (Calcium Channel Blockers) at 44.20%, Beta Blockers at 23.91%, Diuretics at 15.94%, ARB (Angiotensin Receptor Blockers) at 9.42% and ACEi (Angiotensin Converging Enzym Inhibitor) 6.52%. Conclusion: Based on the results the highest use of antihypertensive drugs was the CCB (Calcium Channel Blockers) group at 44.20% and the lowest was the ACEi group (Angiotensin Converting Enzym Inhibitor) at 6,52%.

Abstract

Background: Kalangkala is a fruit plant typical of Kalimantan and belongs to the species of the genus Litsea which is thought to have potential as a natural antioxidant. Empirically, some people in South Kalimantan use the kalangkala plant, especially the seeds of the fruit, to treat boils. One of the compounds that have antioxidant and antibacterial content is flavonoids.Objectives: To determine the thin layer chromatography profile of the total flavonoid compound of the ethyl acetate fraction and to calculate the total flavonoid content of the ethyl acetate fraction of the leaf extract of Kalangkala (Litsea angulata Blum).Method: Thin Layer Chromatography Profile and Determination of Total Flavonoid Content of the Ethyl Acetate Fraction of Kalangkala Leaf Extract using the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. The data were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively.Results: The chromatographic profile of the total flavonoids of the ethyl acetate fraction of Kalangkala leaf eluent that was most optimal was Ethyl acetate : n-Hexane (3:7) because it showed the most stains, namely 5 stains. And in the uv-vis spectrophotometry method, the total flavonoid content of the ethyl acetate fraction of Kalangkala leaves (Litsea angulata Blum) was 0.9 mg QE/g.Conclusion: Kalangkala leaf extract on the TLC profile using ethyl acetate : n-Hexane (3:7) showed a total of 5 stains. And the value of the total flavonoid content of the ethyl acetate fraction of kalangkala leaves was 0.9 mg QE/g.

Abstract

Background: The skin is a part that is susceptible to exposure to chemical, physical substances as well as bacteria, fungi and viruses. The bacteria that is often found on the skin is Staphylococcus aureus. To overcome this, soap making needs to be done, one of which uses sembung leaf extract which has biological activity as antibacterial. Objective: Extracting sembung leaves and making formulations of antibacterial liquid soap preparations of sembung leaf extracts and analyzing antibacterial preparations of liquid soap preparations of sembung leaf extracts Methods: The research method method used is experimental with true experimental design and the research design uses post test only with control group design. Making 3 kinds of antibacterial liquid soap formulations sembung leaf extract with concentrations of 5%, 7%, and 10%. Then evaluation includes pH, organoleptic, high foam, viscosity, and antibacterial test. Results: Based on the results of the organileptic test, there was no difference between each formulation of liquid soap extract from Sembung (Blumea balsamifera) leaf extract. Then in the pH test, it is included in the vulnerable pH of liquid soap, namely pH 8-11. After that, in the foam height test, the results of the foam height test were included in the foam height test vulnerable, namely 13-220 mm. Then, the viscosity test results obtained that the viscosity test is included in the viscosity test vulnerability, namely 400-4000 cPs. Finally, the anti-bacterial test obtained clear results of the diameter of the inhibition zone in each formulation. Conclusion: All formulations meet the SNI standard for liquid soap for pH testing, organoleptic testing, high foam testing, and viscosity testing. In antibacterial testing against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria using the disc method the best formula was obtained, namely a concentration of 5%.

Abstract

  Orange peel extract has antibacterial activity, green tea extract has antiperspirant activity and papaya extract has skin lightening activity so that the three extracts are combined and a deodorant gel preparation is made. The deodorant gel is expected to give a cool feeling and be fast in application. The basic carbomer concentration used in this study is 0.5% -2%. The purpose of this study was to obtain deodorant formulations with active plant substances and to obtain optimization of formulations and to see physical evaluations of deodorant gel preparations combined with extracts of orange peel, green tea and papaya fruit. The method used is a pre-experimental one case shot study. Deodorant gel combination of extracts of orange peel, green tea and papaya fruit was made into three formulations with different gelling agent variations, in formulation I used carbomer (0.5%), formulation II used carbomer (1.5%) and formulation III used carbomer (2%). Organoleptic test and homogeneity test have met the requirements. In the pH test, it was found that the three formulations were in accordance with the skin pH requirements. on the viscosity test, formulations II and III met the viscosity requirements. Spreadability test, formulation I was in accordance with the requirements of the gel. The adhesion test, the three formulations complied with the adhesive power requirements, the dry time test, the three formulations complied with the dry time test requirements. irritation test showed that the three formulations did not cause a reaction, which means that the three formulations were safe to use. The optimal formulation is formulation I as seen from the mean value of the evaluation test carried out.

Abstract

Background: Excessive exposure to sunlight can cause damage to the skin and accelerate the aging process. Therefore, the use of natural antioxidants from plants, such as pegaganleaves, in the form of a gel, can be a solution to protect the skin from damage caused by sun exposure and free radicals. Objective: Understanding the influence of varying concentrations of pegagan leaf extract (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) on the physical evaluation and antioxidant activity of an anti-aging gel formulation. Methods: This study employed a laboratory experimental method called the one-shot case study. A gel formulation was created with variations in concentrations of pegaganleaf extract as the active ingredient, namely 5%, 10%, and 15%. Results: The influence of variations in concentrations of pegaganleaf extract (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) on the physical evaluation of the gel, including pH testing, and the antioxidant activity in the gel formulation is highly significant. Conclusion: The research results indicate that variations in the concentration of ethanol extract from pegaganleaves in the anti-aging gel formulation affect the physical evaluation results in terms of pH testing. These variations in the concentration of ethanol extract from pegagan in the anti-aging gel formulation also impact the antioxidant activity results.

Abstract

Background: Hair is a characteristic appearance. Hair and scalp problems can occur due to exposure to sunlight in the form of ultraviolet (UV) rays. Hair conditioner made from natural ingredients which are rich in antioxidants can solve problems and protect hair from sun exposure. Rosella is one of the plants rich in anthocyanins as antioxidants which can stimulate hair growth by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels in the hair follicles which facilitate a constant supply of blood with nutrients to the hair follicle cells. Objective: Observing and analyzing the effect of roselle flower ethanol extract with a concentration of 5%, 10%, 15% in hair conditioner preparations as sun protection on the evaluation of SPF (Sun Protection Factor) and physicochemical evaluations. Methods: This study used a one shot case study design. Hair conditioners are formulated with different concentrations of the active substance ethanol extract of rosella flowers, namely 5%, 10% and 15%. The evaluation included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, cream type and in vitro SPF activity test. Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA. Results: The results of the study showed that the variation of the active substance affected the differences in the results of the physical evaluation on the pH and viscosity test, as well as the SPF activity test. Based on the statistical results of one way ANOVA, the results obtained were <0.05, meaning that there was an effect of variations in the concentration of the active substance of the ethanol extract of rosella flowers on testing pH, viscosity and SPF activity on hair conditioner preparations. Conclusion: The results of the activity testing and phsycochemical  Evaluation in rosella flowers extraxt hair conditioner formulation showed significant differences in the results from the effect of variations in the active substance.
