Abstract

Background: Covid-19 booster vaccination is expected to achieve herd immunity (group immunity) forming antibodies or strong immunity so that people can survive the Covid-19 virus and hopefully the Covid-19 pandemic will turn into a Covid-19 epidemic. Adverse Drug Reactions (ROM) are unwanted side effects of a drug that arise when administering the drug at a dose used for prophylaxis, diagnosis, and therapy that is actual or potential.Objective: To determine the Pharmacovigilance Study of Covid-19 booster vaccination in the Pujon Village community, Central Kalimantan.Method: This study is Observational in nature, Quantitative. with a descriptive research method, the approach used in this study is cross-sectional. The study was conducted in July in the Pujon Village environment, Central Kalimantan.Results: From the side effects of the Covid-19 booster vaccination, namely the results of the Naranjo Algorithm measurement, it is known that out of 98 respondents, the Pujon village community received the most results in the Naranjo Probable category, which is a side effect of the Covid-19 vaccination, with 20 respondents (20.41%). It is known that there were 55 respondents who experienced possible side effects. Among them, 25 had fever and 30 had pain after receiving the Covid-19 vaccination.Conclusion: From the side effects of the Covid-19 booster vaccination, namely the results of the Naranjo Algorithm measurement, it is known that out of 98 respondents, the Pujon village community received the most results in the Naranjo Possible category, which is a possible side effect of the Covid-19 vaccination, with 55 respondents (56.12%). It is known that there were 55 respondents who experienced possible definite side effects. Among them, 25 had fever and 30 had pain after receiving the Covid-19 vaccination

Abstract

Background: Skin is a very important organ in the body that protects other organs and requires special care to keep skin healthy. Problems with facial skin can be caused by several factors, one of which is the use of makeup which leaves makeup residue combined with pollution and free radicals which can cause facial skin to become dry and lacking in nutrition. Cleansing balm is the latest facial cleanser known as biphasic cosmetic or a cosmetic product that has two phases. Cleansing balm with a combination of avocado seeds (parsea americana mill) is not only a facial cleanser but can also provide benefits as an antioxidant for the skin.Objective: To find out the optimal formulation of the Cleansing Balm preparation with avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill) and the effect of variations of Span 60 and Tweent 80 on the stability test of the Cleansing Balm preparation formulation with avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill).Methods: This research uses One Way Anova, a statistical test which aims to find out whether there are differences between more than 2 sample groups. One direction is meant here is that the source of diversity that will be analyzed only goes in one direction, namely the treatment between sample groups.Results: Based on the results of evaluation and data analysis from stability testing on the optimal and stable formulation of Cleansing Balm, avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill), namely Formulation I because it meets the parameters of the evaluation test and stability test.Conclusion: Varying concentrations of Span 60 and Tweent 80 have an influence on before and after the stability test. Based on the stability test, the most optimal and stable formulation is formulation I.

Abstract

Background: One of the typical Kalimantan plants that can be used as a source of medicine and can be used as an herbal ingredient is the Bangkal Plant. On the leaves there are various compounds such as alkaloids, steroids, tannins and flavonoids. Compounds that have a strong pharmacological effect and have a role as an antioxidant are flavonoid compounds.Objective: This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoids and antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of Bangkal Leaf (Nauclea subdita (Korth).Methods: This study uses an extraction method using 70% ethanol solvent and is soaked for 3 × 24 hours, the viscous extract produced is carried out a qualitative test with the identification of metabolite compounds and a quantitative test with the determination of flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity.Results: The results of the identification of metabolite compounds using color reagents obtained ethanol extract of Bangkal Leaf (Nauclea subdita (Korth) containing alkaloid compounds, steroids, tannins and flavonoids. The flavonoid level is 9.524 mgQE/g. The antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of Bangkal Leaf (Nauclea subdita (Korth) showed an IC50 value of 3.424 ppm.Conclusion: Based on the results of research that has been carried out, public knowledge relates to the rational use drugs for toothache. The need for information and education related to the use of drugs for tootchache rationally

Abstract

Background: The increasing prevalence of hypertension has become a major concern of global health. Key aspects of hypertension management include medication adherence and non-pharmacological interventions such as self-care and health belief model. However, public awareness regarding hypertension management remains low.Objective: Analyze the pattern of self-care behavior  in hypertensive patients with medication compliance indicators by applying  health belief model approach.Methods: Type and design of the study used was observational analysis with a cross sectional design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Sample in this study is 45 respondents consisting of 37 women and 8 men. Data collection was carried out by interviews using questionnaires and analysis spearman rank test  with a degree of significance (α) = 0.05.Results: Bivariate analysis obtained the perception susceptibility (p value = 0.000 ; rho = 0.796), perception severity (p value = 0.000 ; rho = 0.858), perception benefit (p value = 0.000 ; rho = 0.752), perception barriers (p value = 0.000; rho = 0.747), cues to act (p value = 0.000; rho = 0.781), self-efficacy (p value = 0.000; rho = 0.714), value and attitude (p value = 0.000; rho = 0.726), social support (p value = 0.000; rho = 0.593).Conclusions: There was a relationship between perception of susceptibility, severity, benefits, barriers, cues to act, self-efficacy, values and attitudes, social support in control behavior with indicators of compliance hypertensive patients of productive age (26-45 years) in the working area of Public Health Center Sungai Tabuk 1.

Abstract

Background: This environmental exposure triggers the formation of free radicals, also known as reactive oxygen species (ROS). Apart from being caused by exogenous factors, free radicals are also formed naturally through physiological cell metabolism. Free radicals that are not handled will have a negative impact on humans, including abnormal changes that affect certain genes in the body that cause cancer. Carinate leaf extract is also qualitatively proven to contain flavonoid compounds based on Thin Layer Chromatography results which have potential as antioxidants.Objective: This study generally aims to determine the total flavonoids and antioxidant activity in carinate leaf extract (Rubus moluccanus L) leaf extractMethods: This research method is a laboratory experiment with a true-experimental research design using a post test only control group design. The control group in this study was quercetin (DPPH) and variations in the concentration of ethanol extract of carinate leaves as the treatment group.Results: The results explained that carinate leaf extract has a total flavonoid content of 143.8 mg/Qe/g with an average IC50 value of 1,32 ppm which means the antioxidant activity of carinate leaves is very strong and better than quercetin with an average IC50 value of 2,19 ppm. T Independent Sample analysis results obtained of 0.000 which that there is a significant difference in antioxidant activity between carinate leaves and quercetin.Conclusion: Carinate leaves have very strong antioxidant activity so that carinate leaves can be utilized as antioxidants.

Abstract

Background: Rhodamine B is a dye that is commonly used in the textile and paper industry, as a fabric dye, cosmetics, oral cleansing products and soap. This dangerous chemical is often misused in food production. This research aims to determine the chemical content in opak crackers which contain synthetic dyes such as rhodamine B circulating in the city of Banjarmasin using the HPLC method.Objective: This study aims to determine the presence and analyze the levels of rhodamine B in opak crackers circulating in the city of Banjarmasin.Methods: This research uses analytical observational research methods. Meanwhile, the design used in this research is cross sectionalResults: The results of qualitative analysis of injection of a standard solution of rhodamine B at a wavelength of 553 nm showed a retention time of 2.123 minutes. The results showed that samples (A), samples (B), samples (C) did not contain rhodamine B, characterized by different retention times. Meanwhile, the results of quantitative analysis using an HPLC instrument showed that no levels of rhodamine B were detected in all samples.Conclusion: Opak crackers circulating in the city of Banjarmasin, especially those sold at the pasar Ahad, Siring, and Taman Kamboja, can be declared safe or suitable for consumption

Abstract

Background: One of the plants that is often used by people in the interior of Central Kalimantan is the kaluan or halaban plant, where the kaluan or halaban plant is a typical Kalimantan plant that Dayak people usually know as laban. The Kaluan plant is often used by the community as a natural treatment. Kaluan leaves are generally used to treat wounds, scabies, and relieve fever. Kaluan plants have chemical content, the leaves and stem bark contain relatively large amounts of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, sterolterpenoids and tannins, which are active compounds that can ward off free radicals.Objective: This research aimed to determine the alkaloid levels in calluan plants (Vitex pinnata L) using fraction levels, distilled water, chloroform, n-hexane.Methods: This research uses an experimental method using the True Experimental type of research which aims to see the comparison of alkaloid levels from kaluan leaf extract (Vitex pinnata Linn) when using N-hexane, chloroform and methanol fractions. The research design used in this study was Randomized block design (random sampling) and compared samples with the 3 fractions used (N-hexane, chloroform, and distilled water).Results: Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the total alkaloid content in each, namely, for the n-hexane fraction is 8.03%, for the chloroform fraction it is 7.1%, and for the distilled water fraction it is 2.41%.Conclusion: Based on research, the highest alkaloid content was in the n-hexane fraction, namely 8.03%

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the serious problems currently known as the silent killer, and the prevalence throughout the world of hypertension is very high, which has the potential to increase the medical costs that must be borne by patients, therefore minimal treatment of hypertension can reduce the high incidence of hypertension.Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the most cost-minimum costs of using the drugs amlodipine and captopril in hypertensive patients in the outpatient installation of Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, Banjarmasin.Methods: This research was conducted using an observational analytical method with a cross sectional design. Data collection was carried out using medical records and details of drug costs in the pharmacy department, and receipts in the finance department for hypertensive patients in outpatient installations who received amlodipine and captopril treatment at Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, Banjarmasin. The sample used was 38 patients. The cost components collected are direct medical costs including the total costs for antihypertensive treatment, costs for treating comorbidities, administration costs and consultation costs.Results: The results of this research showed that the average total direct medical costs for the amlodipine group were Rp.98.491 and the captopril group was Rp.109.613.Conclusion: Based on cost minimization analysis calculations, the 2 antihypertensive drug therapies that are cost minimized are amlodipine 10 mg tablets compared to captopril 25 mg tablets.

Abstract

Background: Acne is a health problem on the skin that is often experienced by everyone. Acne or acne is a skin disease that is common in all ages, from teenagers to adults. Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) is a plant that has antibacterial properties to treat acne-causing bacteria. Emulgel serum is a liquid preparation that has a high concentration of active ingredients on a combination basis of emulsion and gel.Objective: Identify formulations of various concentrations of carbopol 940 and liquid paraffin based on the evaluation results of anti-acne emulgel preparations of Centella asiatica extract and analyze the effect of variations in concentrations of carbopol 940 and paraffin liquid on the evaluation of anti-acne emulgel preparations of Centella asiatica extract.Methods: The research method used was experimental and the research design carried out was with treatment or intervention which then carried out a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design and one group posttest-only design.Results: The results showed that the serum emulgel extract of Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) with various concentrations of carbopol 940 and paraffin liquid showed an effect on organoleptic, pH, spreadability, adhesion, and viscosity.Conclusion: Of the three formulas in the preparation of gotu kola extract serum emulgel preparations with various concentrations of carbopol 940 and liquid paraffin, from the results of all physicochemical evaluations, the best results were obtained in formula 3.

Abstract

Background: Water fleas are an infectious disease caused by dermatophyte fungi which infect the skin between the toes, soles of the feet and the lateral parts of the feet. Galangal rhizome (Alpinia galanga L) has various properties, including being an antifungal. Cream is a semi-solid preparation and contains one or more medicinal substances dissolved or distributed as a base. Cream has amphipathic properties which have parts that can dissolve polar and non-polar compounds. This amphipathic property is found in the emulsifier in cream preparations. Emulgator Tween 80 and Span 60 are included in the class of surfactant emulsifiers chosen because they are not irritating and non-toxicObjective: To determine the effect of varying concentrations of Tween 80 and Span 60 emulsifiers on the physicochemical evaluation and stability of galangal rhizome extract athlete's foot cream preparations.Methods: The method used was experimental with a quasi-experimental design with a pretest- posttest control group design research design. Simplicia was made into a thick extract, then athlete's foot cream was made and continued with accelerated physicochemical and stability evaluations using the cycling test method. Data were analyzed using one way anova.Results: The results of the evaluation of athlete's foot cream with galangal rhizome extract with variations of tween 80 and span 60 met the evaluation and stability test requirements for the cream preparation.Conclusion: From the results of the physicochemical evaluation and stability of the galangal rhizome extract athlete's foot cream, all formulations have met the cream preparation test requirements.
