This research aims to determine if the jigsaw technique is effective for improving grammar mastery in writing recount texts compared to conventional methods. Using a quasi-experimental design, two classes of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Siantar were studied. The experimental class was taught using the Jigsaw technique, while the control class used conventional methods. Both classes received pretests and posttests to assess their understanding. The experimental class's average scores increased from 54 to 80.46, whereas the control class's scores rose from 53.21 to 71.21. The results, with a t-value of 2.44 compared to a t-table value of 2.00, indicate that the Jigsaw technique significantly improves students' ability to write recount texts, rejecting the null hypothesis.

Abstract

The resolution of conflicts or disputes in society refers to the principle of freedom that benefits both parties. The parties can offer dispute resolution options with intermediaries of community leaders, banking mediators, or mediators from Bank Indonesia, especially related to Islamic banking disputes. Out-of-court mediation is a process of peaceful dispute resolution that is commonly used by the community and mediated by a neutral third party. The purpose of this study is, first, to explain the model of Sharia banking dispute resolution through Sharia mediation outside the court, second, to explain the implementation in the practice of Sharia banking dispute resolution outside the court. Research methods include normative/doctrinal research type. The result of this study is that the Sharia banking dispute resolution model through Sharia mediation in a non-litigation manner is considered to be more able to accommodate some of the weaknesses of the litigation model and has provided a better solution because mediation has many elements in common with the consensus deliberation mechanism which is the spirit of dispute resolution in Indonesian society. Meanwhile, the data collection technique in this study is carried out using several stages starting with the collection of secondary data in the form of primary legal materials and secondary legal materials related to the settlement of Islamic banking disputes through sharia mediation. These legal materials were obtained through the search of several laws and regulations related to the settlement of Islamic banking disputes through sharia mediation on a non-litigation basis.

Abstract

Radicalism is a significant threat to national and social stability in Indonesia. The Indonesian government, through the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), has launched the Desa Siaga-Desa Damai Program to empower village communities in maintaining peace and preventing radicalism. The program is based on the great potential that village communities have in creating a conducive environment through education, training and active community participation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Desa Siaga-Desa Damai Program in preventing the spread of radicalism at the village community level. Using radicalism prevention theory, social constructivism theory, and national security theory, this study analyzes various aspects of the program. The results show that the proactive approach and community empowerment used in the program are effective in reducing the potential for radicalism. Through training, coaching, and the use of information technology to spread counter-radicalism messages, the program succeeded in strengthening social cohesion and increasing community resilience against radical ideologies. In addition, the program is in line with Desa's SDGs goal 16, which is to create a society of peace and justice. In conclusion, the Desa Siaga-Desa Damai Program is an effective model in maintaining national security from the threat of radicalism by empowering village communities and improving their welfare.

Abstract

This study analyses the challenges associated with incorporating Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) into secondary education in Pakistan, with a particular emphasis on the city of Lahore. This aims to highlight the primary challenges faced at the institutional, teacher, and student levels, as well as the potential components that might assist in overcoming these challenges. The research uses a sequential mixed-method technique, in which the interview material is exposed to qualitative analysis, and the survey data are reviewed statistically. The results indicate that participants generally have a favourable view regarding incorporating information and communication technologies (ICTs) into the learning process. However, even though administrators and Information and Communication Technology coordinators are aware of several challenges and potential elements that might facilitate the incorporation of ICT, there is a need for additional viewpoints to be shared between staff and students about particular difficulties. The study outlines the problems and the topics of dispute about the obstacles that stand in the way of integrating ICT.

Abstract

This articles examines the dynamics of nurse compliance with hand hygiene practices, a critical public health topic in preventing the spread of infectious diseases in healthcare settings. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology was employed, drawing from peer-reviewed articles, conference papers, and relevant studies indexed in databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. The review highlights significant variability in hand hygiene practices among nurses and identifies key influencing factors such as knowledge, availability of facilities, and the social environment within hospitals. The findings underscore the importance of a multifaceted approach, integrating educational initiatives from an early age and robust hospital policies to enhance compliance rates. Through a comprehensive theoretical review and empirical analysis, this research contributes to understanding the complexities behind simple practices like hand washing and proposes strategic interventions for improving nurse compliance in healthcare settings.
