Abstract

In the digital era, satellite technology such as Starlink by SpaceX offers high-speed broadband internet, but raises concerns regarding the privacy of users' personal data. This research aims to analyze the impact of using Starlink on data privacy in Indonesia, assess the readiness of technological infrastructure and data protection policies, and compare Indonesia's policies with other countries. Human rights theory, personal data protection theory, interactive justice theory, and governed interdependence theory were used to understand this context. The results show that the use of Starlink affects the privacy of users' personal data through data collection without consent, the risk of insecure data storage, and unauthorized access by third parties. Indonesia has several laws such as the ITE Law and the Personal Data Protection Law, but their implementation and enforcement need to be improved. Comparison with other countries such as the European Union which has GDPR shows the need for more comprehensive regulations in Indonesia. This research recommends increased awareness about data privacy, adoption of stringent data security practices, and development of comprehensive regulations. In conclusion, it is important for Indonesia to develop a personal data protection strategy that is balanced with satellite technology innovation to maintain individual privacy in the digital era.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to empirically analyze the impact of work-life balance, turnover intention, and workload on audit quality. Additionally, the study aims to examine the moderating effect of time budget pressure on the relationship between work-life balance, turnover intention, workload, and audit quality. The research population comprised 81 active Public Accounting Firms based in South Jakarta. The sample consisted of 159 auditors selected through simple random sampling. Statistical analysis was conducted using Smart PLS version 4.1.0.0. The findings of the study are as follows: (1) Work-life balance positively impacts audit quality. (2) Turnover intention negatively impacts audit quality. (3) Workload positively impacts audit quality. (4) Time budget pressure does not moderate the relationship between work-life balance and audit quality. (5) Time budget pressure does not moderate the relationship between turnover intention and audit quality. (6) Time budget pressure does not moderate the relationship between workload and audit quality. This research suggests that future studies could explore other moderating variables besides time budget pressure. Additionally, auditors and Public Accounting Firms can utilize these findings to implement work-life balance strategies, manage turnover rates, and enhance skills to manage workload effectively.

Abstract

Pulmonary hypertension (PAH), seen in 20%-40% of chronic respiratory diseases, is linked to the severity of these conditions. Tuberculosis, a bacterial infection causing lung damage and impaired function, can contribute to this increased blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, complicating patient outcomes by worsening both conditions. This study used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach, measuring independent and dependent variables simultaneously at a single point in time. It focused on analyzing the relationship between pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary tuberculosis in patients. The study found that most respondents were aged 51-70 years, with no significant link between age or gender and hypertension (P-values=0.091 and 0.655, respectively). Light smoking was significantly associated with hypertension (P-value=0.001), while nutritional status was not (P-value=0.332). Significant relationships were found between blood pressure (P-value=0.002) and spirometry results (P-value=0.000) with hypertension. Thus, blood pressure, smoking habits, and spirometry results were key factors influencing pulmonary hypertension in the 60 patients studied. There is a significant relationship between Pulmonary Hypertension and Tuberculosis patients at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar, January - June 2023.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of varying K3EDTA blood volumes on complete blood count (CBC) results. Venous blood collection was performed using a closed system method. Blood was collected into K3EDTA vacutainer tubes with varying volumes of 1 mL, 2 mL, and 3 mL for each respondent, with a total of 10 respondents. The CBC parameters examined were WBC, RBC, Hb, Hct, MCV, MCH, MCHC, and PLT, using a quality-controlled hematology analyzer. Normally distributed data were analyzed using ANOVA, while non-normally distributed data were analyzed using the Friedman test. The results showed p-values > 0.05 for WBC, RBC, Hb, Hct, MCV, MCH, and MCHC, whereas the PLT test results showed a p-value < 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of varying K3EDTA blood volumes on PLT test results, but no effect on WBC, RBC, Hb, Hct, MCV, MCH, and MCHC test results.

Abstract

Law is closely related to morality. Law has no meaning if it is not accompanied by morals, so the quality of law is largely determined by moral quality. Law is more codified than morality, written down and more systematically arranged in statutory regulations. The law limits itself to outward behavior, while morals concern a person's inner attitude as a legal subject. Law is based on the will of society and ultimately on the will of the state and morality is based on moral norms that transcend individuals and society. Abandoning morals in law is the same as the law losing its spirit.

Abstract

Health workers who provide health services must have a Practice License issued by the government in accordance with applicable regulations. The purpose of this Practice Permit (SIP) is to protect both the public and health workers themselves, in terms of health practices that can have a negative impact, both physically, mentally and on the lives of patients. This research aims to identify the legal protection given to heads of community health centers when their subordinates do not have an SIP. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The results show that the head of the community health center can be involved in legal problems if employees at the community health center do not have a practice permit, in accordance with Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. In fact, some health workers do not have a license to practice because they have not received a recommendation from a professional organization, have not passed a competency test, or do not have a valid Registration Certificate (STR). Therefore, it is recommended that the head of the community health center check the existence of a SIP for every health worker working at the health center, and ensure that they understand and comply with the legal regulations governing health workers' practice permits.
