Abstract

The phenomena of trance and possession are events that occur in various cultures and traditions. In general, both phenomena are characterized by the loss of control of one's body or consciousness. However, views on the causes and treatment of both phenomena may vary between Western and Islamic Psychology perspectives. This study aims to compare Western and Islamic Psychology perspectives on the phenomena of trance and possession. From the Western perspective, the phenomenon is often explained as a medical or psychological condition that can be treated with scientific methods such as drugs and psychological therapies. Whereas in Islamic Psychology, the phenomenon is explained as a manifestation of supernatural powers that affect a person's mental state. This research combines a comparative qualitative and descriptive approach by analyzing literature related to the phenomena of trance and trance from both perspectives. The results show that although there are differences in views between the two perspectives, both recognize the influence of psychological factors in the occurrence of these phenomena. In addition, Islamic Psychology recognizes the existence of supernatural powers that influence the phenomenon of trance and trance-inducing, while the Western perspective tends to reject this view. In conclusion, this study provides an understanding of the differences in views between the Western perspective and Islamic Psychology regarding the phenomena of trance and possession. It also shows that although the views between the two perspectives may differ, they can complement each other and provide a more holistic understanding of the phenomenon.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the world of education. The learning process is usually carried out face-to-face, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, schools were required to follow government policies regulated by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Where the learning process is carried out in asynchronous learning, so that a teacher is highly demanded to be able to use interesting learning media, create a creative and innovative learning atmosphere so that students can understand learning material easily. Asynchronous is a learning system that is carried out delayed or indirectly, so that the teacher can only provide knowledge not in educating the student's character. However, students can easily access learning materials anytime and anywhere. This research was conducted aiming to describe the role of asynchronous in improving student achievement. This research uses quantitative methods using survey models, google forms and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that student achievement will increase if these students are able to make good use of the asynchronous system in the learning process. The limitation of this study is that researchers have difficulty knowing student learning progress by using an asynchronous system in improving student achievement. Therefore, it is hoped that future researchers will be more thorough in reviewing student achievement using an asynchronous system.

Abstract

The term used to describe an individual's dependence on smartphones is called no-mobile phone phobia (nomophobia), which refers to the fear of being disconnected from the digital world. One of the causes of nomophobia is the high need for communication. Individuals who spend a lot of time on virtual communication have a reason to escape from real-life social relationships. Individuals who fail to develop interpersonal intelligence will experience obstacles in their social lives. This study aims to explore the influence of interpersonal communication on nomophobia among married couples. The research design used is a non-experimental quantitative correlational design. The research instruments used are the NMP-Q Likert scale and the MCI scale. The study involves a total of 39 subjects. The analysis results show that 69.5% of the respondents experience a moderate level of nomophobia, while 35.9% experience a high level of nomophobia. A positive influence between interpersonal communication and nomophobia among married couples is found, thus rejecting the hypothesis.

Abstract

Digital storytelling is a form of mediated communication that uses a set of information and communication technologies with the aim of exchanging information, which is packaged into several topics with an interesting presentation style. The purpose of this study is to describe the utilization of digital storytelling that can increase the level of learning motivation of students. The research model implemented is to use quantitative methods. The quantitative method was carried out with a survey model with google forms and in-depth interviews, as well as gathering information from several students at one of the Madrasah Aliyah in the Tanah Datar area. The result of this research is that digital storytelling is very effective to be applied in schools, because it is able to bring out the enthusiasm and high motivation of students in learning. The conclusion of this research is that a teacher must be able to improvise on learning media which initially only used printed media in learning, now must be able to utilize digital storytelling as a medium that arouses students' enthusiasm. The limitation of this study is that researchers are only able to apply digital storytelling learning media in one subject. For this reason, researchers hope that future researchers can apply and develop digital storytelling in various subjects.
