Abstract

Differences in student learning outcomes become a reference in drawing research conclusions. The learning outcomes are grouped based on two variables. Learning outcomes based on the application of learning models and learning outcomes based on the level of learning motivation possessed by students. The type of research used is experimental research. Data collection using written tests and questionnaires. Written test instruments are used to collect data in the form of student learning outcomes. This test is given before learning activities begin and at the end of learning. The questionnaire instrument was used to collect data in the form of students' motivational values and was given before the learning activities began. Furthermore, the research data were analyzed using Two-way Anava. This study has three hypotheses. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that the first hypothesis was accepted, namely that there were differences in the effect of the learning model on student learning outcomes; the second hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is an influence of learning motivation on student learning outcomes; and the third hypothesis is rejected, which means there is no interaction with the Flipped Learning and Direct Learning models and learning motivation on student learning outcomes in English subjects. Suggestions that can be conveyed through this research are that this kind of research should be carried out with a longer research period, using different materials and at different levels. It is possible to obtain generalization of research results. The use of more interesting learning media and effective learning plans will greatly assist in the learning process.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations made at SDN 1 Hadiluwih Kec. Ngadirojo, Kab. Pacitan. The learning activities carried out are less effective, this is due to the learning activities caused by the learning method which is still monotonous with lectures without using the media as a supporting tool. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) and this research is in collaboration with tutor teachers as well as homeroom teachers for class III SDN 1 Hadiluwih. The subjects in this study were class III students at SDN 1 Hadilwuih Kec. Ngadirojo, Kab. Pacitan. Data collection techniques consisted of observation and posttest questions and there were four stages in the research conducted, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The above problems lead to the need for creative and innovative learning media to improve student learning outcomes. Learning media that is easy and can be created by educators is audiovisual media which is able to have a big influence on learning activities. This makes students experience lagging behind and has an impact on the learning outcomes of students, the majority of whose learning outcomes are under the KKM. The results of the data from pre-cycle with KKM 75, only 30.76% of students who can fulfill the achievement of mastery. In Cycle I there was an increase in students' learning achievement which reached 53.84%. The percentage almost reached the expected target even though there were several points that students had not understood. In cycle II 84.61% The percentage obtained has reached the expected target. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in learning activities using audiovisual media.

Abstract

Institutionalization of village mediation is a strategic and synergistic endeavor with efforts to build a justice system in Indonesia. Especially in the perspective of access to justice for people in rural areas who experience disputes. Based on Law Number 6 of 2014, there are regulations that provide space and creativity for villages to institutionalize village mediation as "informal justice" to resolve disputes that arise in village communities. Besides, there are legal opportunities for village heads to take a strategic role in disputes that occur in village communities. Thus access to justice is closer to the villagers. Such a situation clearly synergizes with efforts to build a justice system that is accessible to all levels of society, is effective, efficient and is able to encourage the creation of an atmosphere of harmony in society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the behavioral orientation of school principals and discipline leadership with the work motivation of teachers in junior high schools on the island of Buano. The research method used in this research is quantitative research. From this data it can be concluded that: 1) There is a relationship between the leadership behavior of school principals and teachers' work motivation because the significant value is < 0.05 or 0.150 < 0.05. The value of the Pearson correlation is 0.912, which means that there is a degree of relationship at very low correlation. 2) There is a relationship between work discipline and teacher motivation because the significant value is <0.05 or 0.00 <0.05. The value of the Pearson correlation is 0.873, which means that there is a high degree of correlation. 3) There is a positive and significant relationship between the principal's leadership behavior and work discipline with the teacher's work motivation because the significant value is <0.05. Thus it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship simultaneously between the leadership behavior of school principals and work discipline with teacher work motivation. so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

Syllable card media is a tool aimed at enhancing students' early reading skills by visualizing images and syllables that are affixed to a board. The purpose of this study is to investigate the Influence of Syllable Card Media on Reading Ability Quality of Students. The research was conducted at a public elementary school in Deli Serdang, with the subjects being second semester first-grade students, consisting of two classes: class IA and 1B. The research utilized a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental approach. The results from the Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This leads to the conclusion that the "Hypothesis is Accepted," implying a difference in students' early reading ability using media between the Pre-Test and Post-Test. Thus, it is evident that Syllable Card Media has an Influence on the Quality of Reading Ability among Students. The recommendation from this research is for educators to utilize media in teaching to enhance early reading skills.

Abstract

his study aims to determine the management of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds at SMP Negeri 10 Ambon. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. This research involved the school principal and BOS treasurer as primary data sources. Secondary data sources included school profile, vision and mission, BOS Annual Activity Plan (Rencana Kerja Tahunan-RKT), BOS Accountability Report (Laporan Pertanggung Jawaban­­-LPJ), and teacher data. The interview results were then transcribed into Bahasa Indonesia. The results showed that the management of BOS funds went through several stages and processes, namely planning, management, evaluation and reporting. The components of planning, management, evaluation and reporting showed that SMP Negeri 10 Ambon had run well in accordance with the technical guidelines for the management of BOS funds, except for the lack of trust and transparency by the managers to each field related to BOS funds. In this study, there were several obstacles, namely delays in fund disbursement, lack of transparency in terms of budget implementation, and accountability problems in reporting management and evaluation. The obstacles found resulted in the regulation carried out by schools being hampered so that the program that had been prepared in the RKAS could not run properly. Recommendations that can be given are that periodic evaluations from stakeholders can continue to be conducted for effective and efficient regulation of BOS funds.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the influence of the role of the principal on teaching motivation, (2) the effect of the use of instructional media on teacher teaching motivation, (3) the effect of the role of the principal and use of instructional media jointly on teacher teaching motivation in public junior high schools in the district of Bula, East Seram regency. This type of research is expost-facto using quantitative methods. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire or a Likert distribution questionnaire. The population as well as the sample in this study were all 69 PNS/Non PNS school principals and teachers from 3(three) public junior high schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency. The results showed that: 1) the role of the school principal (X1) had an effect on teachers’ teaching motivation (Y) by 6.3% based on (R square) of 0.063, (2) The use of instructional media (X2) had an effect on teachers’ teaching motivation (Y) of 23.6% besed on (R square) of 0,236, and (3) the role of the school principal (X1) and the use of instructional media (X2) has an effect on teacher motivation (Y) of 23,7% based on (R square) of 0.237. Based on the results of the reseach conducted, the variabel of the role of the school principal and use of learning media should be increased in order to increase the motivation to teach teachers in public junior high schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to understand the process of designing lesson plans for writing activities in the tenth grade at SMK Negeri 2 Alasa Talumuzoi for the academic year 2022/2023 and identify challenges faced by an English teacher during implementation. Data was collected through observations and interviews with the teacher. The analysis followed qualitative techniques, leading to conclusions based on the research objectives. The findings reveal that the teacher's lesson planning process includes various components such as educational details, competencies, objectives, materials, methods, activities, and assessments. The teacher effectively designs the lesson plan. However, challenges were identified, including incomplete alignment between competencies and activities, lack of clear instructions for students, underutilization of teaching media, inadequate final assessments, and limited student involvement in summarization. This research provides insights into the strengths and weaknesses of lesson planning and implementation in the context of writing activities.

Abstract

Communication in the Indonesian hospitality industry impacts on the growth of domestic and foreign tourists’ number who visit the country. And one of the communication forms in this business is visitor review on hospitality platforms. This review offers several advantages since, for example, hotels will be able to find out customers' levels of satisfaction, needs, or complaints on hotel services and facilities. And these aspects can be used to evaluate the business’ performance in gaining profit. Based on that urgency, this study aims to investigate the complaint structures and strategies written by Asian and English-speaking country visitors on both domestic chain hotels (DCH) and international chain hotels (ICH) in the TripAdvisor page, an international-based travel site. Furthermore, a qualitative descriptive research method is employed along with note-taking as the data collection technique, and the theory used is the complaint speech act strategy presented by Trosborg. The results of this study indicate that the complaint structure consists of several components, namely: title, opening sentence, content (complaint sentence), closing sentence, and parting or valediction. In detail, the structure component that appears the least is parting since it is only found in Asian visitor reviews on ICH. While, the most common complaint strategy used by DCH and ICH visitors is annoyance. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the use of complaints strategies between Asian and English-speaking country visitors in both DCH and ICH. It happens due to globalization where the world communities carry out high mobility between cultures even though they have geographical boundaries; thus, they are able to influence each other frequently

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the ability of understanding the text, like find the information, messages, or idea from the author. Therefore, it is very important for students to master reading comprehension skills, especially in narrative text. In fact, students at SMK Negeri 1 Sogae'adu experienced problems in understanding narrative text. There were several problems faced by students in reading comprehension: The students were not able to determine the main idea, the students were not able to locate the generic structure of narrative text, the students were not able to recognize or predict the important and unimportant content of the text, and the students were lacked of vocabulary. Concerning these problems, this study aimed to solve students' problems and improve students' ability in reading comprehension through the use of the Keyword Method. This research was carried out using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. This research was conducted in two cycles consisting of two meetings in each cycle. There were 4 procedures carried out, namely: Planning, Action, Observation, Reflection. In cycle I, there were 24 students who did not achieved MCC; the average student score was 61.76. The highest score was 87 and the lowest score was 20. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the average score was 87.7, the highest score was 100 and the minimum score was 75, where all students succeeded in achieving the MCC. From the results of this study, it could be concluded that the Keyword Method solves students' problems in reading comprehension and improved students' reading comprehension skills in narrative text.
