Abstract

The community service program at BUMDes Tamanmartani, Sleman Regency aims to strengthen the branding of leading agricultural products through the integration of Solar tunnel dryer technology. This collaboration is designed to enhance the capacity of BUMDes in managing local agricultural products, providing added value and improving their competitiveness in the market. Branding reinforcement is carried out by exploring the potential of village flagship products and developing marketing strategies based on innovative drying technology. The social entrepreneurship approach offers opportunities for villagers to collaborate, share knowledge, and optimize agricultural yields with improved quality. Problem-solving serves as the main method in addressing the challenges faced by BUMDes, including production management, marketing, and resource utilization. This is achieved through participatory discussions between the community service team, BUMDes administrators, and members of BUMDes. Furthermore, the program includes marketing training and the sustainable use of Solar tunnel dryer technology. Activities also cover the development of branding programs for agricultural products, the enhancement of BUMDes marketing skills, and the strengthening of distribution networks, enabling Tamanmartani’s agricultural products to compete at both local and regional levels.

Abstract

North Central Timor Regency has a high level of landslide vulnerability, while students’ understanding of disaster mitigation remains low. This community service program aims to enhance the science and technology literacy of students at SD Negeri Lulu through learning activities using an Internet of Things (IoT)-based landslide miniature as an educational medium. The miniature is designed to simulate landslide processes with IoT sensors that monitor soil moisture, allowing students to directly observe the relationship between environmental conditions and landslide potential. Through this activity, science and technology learning becomes more contextual, interactive, and engaging for elementary school students. The program also supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 13 (Climate Action). The integration of technology in science education has proven effective in improving students’ understanding of abstract geophysical and environmental concepts. Through experiments using the IoT-based miniature, students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also understand the practical application of technology in analyzing natural phenomena. This activity is expected to serve as a model for science and technology learning based on disaster mitigation in landslide-prone areas.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower women's groups of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) in utilizing cassava (telo) as a valuable food ingredient through training in making steamed caramelized bingka telo. Cassava was chosen because of its high carbohydrate content (~34.7g/100g) and potential for food product diversification. The method used was a participatory practical demonstration (70%) and theory (30%). Participants followed the steps of making bingka cake based on a predetermined local recipe, including the process of making sugar caramel and the steam-baking mechanism. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in processing cassava into new products. The women were able to make caramelized bingka telo with a variety of flavors and attractive decorations. Additional activities such as selecting a product logo and planning a selling price also provided practical entrepreneurial experience. This program successfully increased local food production capacity and awareness of family economic values. With an innovative approach and sustainable support, it is hoped that similar activities can continue to be developed to improve family economies and food security based on local potential.

Abstract

Padukuhan Dayakan II, located in Dayakan Village, Tanjungsari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, faces challenges in managing citizen data that is still done manually, causing slow administrative processes and vulnerability to errors. As a solution, students from Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta (UAJY) developed an application based on Flutter and Dart for the digitalization of population data. This application development used the Agile Methodology, which allows for iterative and flexible development according to user needs. The application facilitates the recording, updating, and searching of citizen data, reducing the time it previously took to search for one piece of data from 30 minutes to less than one minute. The application was tested through direct trials by village officials, and training was provided for the chief of the village as partner to ensure the application could be used effectively. The results show that this application significantly improves administrative efficiency, accelerates public services, and enhances data accuracy. This application development is expected to be further developed with additional features to make administrative tasks easier and improve community services.

Abstract

The growing global population demands increased food productivity, which can be achieved using fertilizers. However, inorganic fertilizers harm the environment and leave chemical residues, making organic and biofertilizers a sustainable alternative. This initiative aims to enhance skills and inclusive learning for students with special needs while increasing economic and educational value, particularly in biofertilizer production at SLB-C Karya Bhakti, Purworejo. Biofertilizers contain beneficial microorganisms that support soil fertility and plant growth by breaking down nutrients, boosting disease resistance, and enhancing plant development. Unlike chemical fertilizers, biofertilizers are environmentally friendly and leave no harmful residues. They are produced using growth media like husks and fermented through solid-state or submerged fermentation methods. Proper packaging, such as vacuum sealing or PET-nylon-PP materials, is essential to maintain microbial viability and quality. At SLB-C Karya Bhakti, biofertilizers support plant growth in the school garden, actively involving students with special needs. Their use enhances food literacy, influences dietary choices, and improves economic conditions within the school. Additionally, this initiative fosters health and social development among students with disabilities, empowering them with valuable agricultural skills for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
