Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to optimize the use of sewing materials to maximize production output at Rumah Jahit Nila through the application of a linear programming model in the allocation and use of sewing materials in planning and maximizing production output. The implementation methods include mapping processes and data requirements and formulating a linear programming model relevant to the scale of Nila Sewing House MSMEs, as well as training and live demonstrations using QM as software to determine optimization solutions. The evaluation was conducted on 15 participants using a 1–4 Likert scale instrument with four assessment indicators, namely, training content, presenter's subject-matter expertise, event facilities, and benefits of the program. Descriptive analysis showed an overall average of 3.43 on a scale of 4, with a percentage level of 85.8%, which is in the Very Good category. In order, the indicator achievements are Presenter’s Subject-Matter Expertise = 3.53 (88.33%), Benefits of the Program = 3.47 ( 86.67%), Training Content = 3.40 (85.00%), and Event Facilities = 3.33 (83.33%). These results confirm that the competence of the speakers and the relevance of the benefits are the main strengths, while the content and facilities of the activities are areas for priority improvement. This program has successfully improved participants' technical capacity in modeling and implementing linear program-based raw material optimization, while also providing a foundation for operational implementation to reduce waste and increase throughput.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) play a crucial role in developing a knowledgeable and moral generation, yet religious literacy in many pesantren remains focused on the study of Islamic texts and has not been systematically directed toward writing skills. This community service program aims to strengthen the religious literacy of students through digital-based Islamic article writing training at Dayah Madinatuddiniyah Raudhatul Mubaarakah Al Munawwarah in Bireuen. The program was implemented from May to July 2025 and consisted of five main stages: outreach, training, technology implementation, evaluation, and program sustainability. The implementation results showed that students who were previously unfamiliar with formal writing were now able to produce more than five Islamic articles and religious opinions with improved writing structure. Furthermore, more than 30 pieces of visual content and articles were successfully published through the pesantren's blog and social media. The formation of a student writing community and the utilization of digital literacy spaces have strengthened the writing culture and opened up broader opportunities for digital da'wah. Thus, this activity demonstrates that students' writing skills can be significantly improved through structured training and the use of technology. This program strengthens the role of Islamic boarding schools as centers of Islamic education that are adaptive to digital developments while encouraging students to become producers of creative, moderate, and relevant Islamic content to the needs of society.

The background to this activity stems from the finding that most MI teachers still experience difficulties in understanding the structure and components of teaching modules, especially in designing integrated learning objectives, learning outcomes, and assessments. The focus of this activity is to provide socialization and technical assistance in developing teaching modules based on student characteristics and the local context of the madrasah. The activity implementation method uses a participatory approach through the stages of preparation, implementation of socialization, assistance in the practice of developing teaching modules, and evaluation of the results of the activity. Participants consisted of 23 teachers from MI Rifaiyah Limpung, Limpung District, Batang Regency. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in developing teaching modules that are more systematic and relevant to learning needs. In addition, participants demonstrated high enthusiasm in adapting the format and principles of developing teaching modules in accordance with the curriculum guidelines. Based on the evaluation results, 85% of participants were able to produce teaching module designs that met the criteria for completeness and appropriateness of content. Thus, this socialization activity has proven effective in strengthening the capacity of MI Rifaiyah Limpung teachers in designing innovative and contextual teaching tools, as well as supporting the improvement of the quality of the learning process at the madrasah.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to explore in depth the factors inhibiting the adoption of Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) technology in drought-prone communities, focusing on non-technical aspects that are socio-cultural, perceptual, and psychological. This study uses a phenomenological approach through qualitative methods. Data was collected from communities in drought-prone areas through in-depth interviews and Pumped Group Discussions (FGDs). Data analysis was carried out thematically to identify key patterns and themes. This study reveals five main themes as inhibitors of RWH adoption: (1) Public perception that rainwater is "dirty" and unfit for consumption, while groundwater and PDAM water are considered "clean" and guaranteed; (2) Economic constraints and priority allocation of family funds; (3) Perception of technological complexity and concerns about treatment; (4) Institutional weaknesses and social dynamics in management; and (5) Beliefs and cultural norms that view drought as a destiny. These findings suggest that the biggest obstacle is not in the technical aspect, but in the construction of entrenched social perceptions, values, and norms. The success of community service programs in implementing civil engineering technology such as RWH is highly dependent on understanding the socio-cultural context of the community. An approach that focuses only on technical solutions will fail to guarantee adoption and sustainability. A holistic, participatory, and culturally sensitive intervention strategy is needed, which not only provides infrastructure but also builds strong local awareness, confidence, and institutions to create sustainable water resilience.
