Abstract

This study is motivated by the low student activity and learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila Education among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 064966 Medan, evidenced by minimal student participation and failure to meet the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM). The objectives of the study are to (1) improve student learning activity and (2) enhance student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, involving the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations of student activity, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Learning mastery increased from 21.60% of students meeting the criteria in the pre-cycle to 62.10% in cycle I, and further to 86.50% in cycle II. Observations of student learning activity also showed improvement, with average group scores progressively increasing from cycle I to cycle II. The implementation of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) method proved effective in actively engaging students in learning and promoting more optimal learning outcomes. In conclusion, the TGT method can be applied as a teaching strategy to support the enhancement of student activity and learning outcomes in Pancasila Education.

Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research examines managerial strategies and challenges in administering the Tahfiz program. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that TPQ Al-Islamiyyah implements a systematic and adaptive management framework encompassing planning, implementation, and evaluation phases, reinforced by active parental and community engagement. Key strategies include a structured curriculum design, flexible learning schedules, targeted memorization techniques such as talaqqi and tikrar, and continuous teacher development via internal training programs. The study underscores that sustainable success in Tahfiz education depends on integrated collaboration among educators, parents, and the wider community, highlighting the importance of ongoing innovation and responsiveness to students’ social contexts. These insights contribute both practical guidance and theoretical advancement for managing non-formal Tahfiz education institutions effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the Islamic economic system in community empowerment and strengthening the economic independence of the people through the use of instruments such as zakat, infaq, sedekah, productive waqf, and Islamic microfinance institutions. Researchers use a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews with Islamic economic actors and community leaders, and documentation studies. The research results indicate that Islamic economics not only contributes to the material aspect but also functions as a mechanism for fostering the social, spiritual, and cultural development of the community. Empowerment based on zakat and productive waqf, as well as Islamic financing through Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) and Islamic cooperatives, has proven effective in improving the standard of living of people experiencing poverty, creating jobs, and strengthening social solidarity. However, the implementation of Islamic economics at the grassroots level still faces various challenges, such as low literacy of Islamic economics, limitations in the management of waqf assets, and suboptimal synergy between Islamic institutions. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen institutions, support regulations, and integrate Islamic economics into development policies both at the local and national levels. Thus, Islamic economics can be an alternative foundation in community development that is not only oriented towards economic growth but also towards achieving blessings and balance in life in accordance with the principles of maqashid sharia.

Abstract

The low level of active student participation in fiqh learning has become a critical issue underlying this study. One promising approach to enhance student engagement is the implementation of the questions students have model, which emphasizes the use of student-generated questions as the foundation of the learning process. This study aims to apply this model in fiqh instruction and to identify the challenges and efforts involved in its implementation. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source, method, and time triangulation. The findings reveal that teachers' skills in applying the questions students have model remain limited, particularly in executing the instructional steps as planned. Internal challenges include teachers’ limited ability to develop varied questions and effectively implement strategies. Externally, students demonstrated low confidence in asking questions and limited skills in formulating them. Additional obstacles included suboptimal classroom management and insufficient learning media. To address these issues, teachers engaged in professional development through training, provided guidance for both teachers and students in question formulation, and prepared instructional media prior to teaching. This study underscores the importance of strengthening both teacher and student capacities to foster fiqh learning that is active, participatory, and reflective.

Abstract

This study compares conventional and Sharia-compliant hotels in Sumedang Regency, with a focus on the application of Islamic values within the hospitality sector. The research aims to analyze how the integration of Sharia principles influences hotel operations and customer satisfaction. Utilizing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and observations at selected hotels. Sharia-compliant hotels adhere to Islamic guidelines by providing halal food, designated prayer facilities, gender-segregated amenities, and marriage verification at check-in. These practices foster trust and enhance satisfaction among Muslim guests. In contrast, conventional hotels emphasize general guest comfort without prioritizing religious considerations and often encounter difficulties in consistently applying Islamic values. The findings indicate that aligning hospitality services with Sharia principles not only enhances competitiveness but also strengthens customer loyalty. This alignment supports the moral and spiritual well-being of Muslim travelers and contributes to the advancement of halal tourism. The study underscores the potential of Sharia-compliant hospitality to offer culturally and religiously sensitive services that meet the growing demands of the Muslim travel market.

Abstract

English language learning particularly in the core communicative skills of speaking and listening continues to face various challenges in many non-formal education institutions. This study aims to (1) describe the implementation of the Audio Lingual Method (ALM) in developing the English language proficiency of learners at the PEC English course in Kedaung Kaliangke, West Jakarta, and (2) evaluate the learners’ English proficiency following the application of this method. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants included one branch manager who also served as a tutor, one receptionist who also served as a tutor, two instructors, and twelve learners. The findings indicate that the application of ALM was moderately successful, as it followed key phases such as repetition, drills, memorization, and imitation practices that promote habit formation in language use. Indicators of English proficiency included listening skills (covering recall, comprehension, application, and analysis) and speaking skills, particularly in responsive and imitative forms. The study concludes that ALM is effective in enhancing practical and applicable language skills. The implication is that this method is recommended for consistent use in non-formal educational settings to improve the quality of communicative and practice-oriented language learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study provides a rigorous analysis of the epistemology and educational framework of Ulul Albab, a model developed by Prof. Imam Suprayogo that integrates dhikr (remembrance), fikir (critical thinking), and amal (social action) as the foundational pillars of holistic Islamic education. Positioned as a response to the persistent dichotomy between religious and secular knowledge in Islamic educational institutions, the Ulul Albab paradigm aims to foster a balanced development of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual capacities. Employing a qualitative library research design, this study critically examines Suprayogo’s original writings and compares them with other prominent Islamic scientific integration models, particularly those proposed by M. Amin Abdullah and Syed Naquib al-Attas. Findings demonstrate that the Ulul Albab model effectively embeds character education into the curriculum and equips students to navigate challenges posed by the digital age and Society 5.0 by promoting resilience, critical digital literacy, and social responsibility. However, the research also identifies implementation gaps, especially the absence of standardized methods for assessing the integration of dhikr, fikir, and amal. Conceptually, this study contributes an evaluative synthesis of Suprayogo’s approach, while practically offering recommendations for enhancing assessment tools and curriculum development in Islamic education. Future research should focus on refining evaluation frameworks and expanding the model’s application across diverse educational contexts to amplify its relevance and impact on global Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze both supporting and opposing scholarly perspectives on the use of Israiliyyat in Qur'anic interpretation. Utilizing a qualitative library research method, the study explores the historical and textual foundations underlying the inclusion of Israiliyyat narratives. Findings indicate that the use of Israiliyyat in tafsir has historical legitimacy, supported by references such as Surah Yûnus verse 94 and several hadiths that permit the narration of stories from the Children of Israel. However, this permissibility is conditional and must be approached with caution. Scholars categorize Israiliyyat into three types: those that align with Islamic teachings, those that contradict them, and those that are neutral. A critical and discerning approach is essential to maintain the authenticity of interpretation and protect the integrity of Islamic faith. When used responsibly, Israiliyyat can enhance the historical depth of interpretation, as seen in the works of classical mufassirs like Ibn Jarir al-Ṭabarī and Ibn Kathīr. Nevertheless, Israiliyyat should not be considered a source of law or creed but rather as supplementary material offering contextual insight. The study concludes that the appropriate use of Israiliyyat requires a balance between intellectual openness and theological vigilance, enabling a nuanced and faithful understanding of its role in Islamic exegesis.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology has brought significant changes across various aspects of life, including how children and adolescents interact with digital media. TikTok, as one of the most popular social media platforms, offers creative features and an engaging algorithm, yet poses considerable risks to children’s social and psychological development—particularly regarding exposure to harmful content such as pornography. This study aims to examine the role of the non-formal education community Kakak Aman Indonesia in equipping children with the knowledge and skills needed to face the challenges of the digital world. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation and documentation of community activities. The findings reveal that Yayasan Kakak Aman Indonesia plays an active role in preventing exposure to pornographic content through three key strategies: (1) providing digital education for children and parents about the dangers of negative online content; (2) training children in independent, healthy, and safe use of digital media; and (3) offering safe, child-friendly spaces for discussion and reporting cases of sexual violence and pornography exposure. These findings underscore the importance of non-formal educational collaboration in creating a safe digital environment that supports children's growth and development. The implication is that programs such as those conducted by Kakak Aman Indonesia can serve as effective community-based preventive intervention models in addressing the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

Creativity is a vital 21st-century skill that must be nurtured from an early age to support critical thinking and independent idea expression. However, observations at TK Fathul Huda Tasikmalaya indicate that the creativity of children aged 4–5 years has not yet developed optimally, as evidenced by a tendency to imitate, the production of meaningless work, and a limited ability to express ideas. This study aims to enhance children’s creativity through the use of constructive play methods. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach in collaboration with teachers, conducted over three cycles. Creativity assessment was based on Utami Munandar’s 4P theory, encompassing the individual, process, product, and press (environment) dimensions, with indicators such as the ability to create original forms, self-motivated artistic activity, sustained creative engagement, and the production of meaningful, describable work. The results showed a significant increase in creativity across each cycle, with the majority of children reaching the "Very Well Developed" (Berkembang Sangat Baik, BSB) category by the third cycle. The study concludes that constructive play is an effective strategy for developing early childhood creativity in PAUD institutions, as it fosters active engagement and independent idea expression.
