Abstract

This research aims to explore pricing strategies and digital marketing in the development of traditional handicrafts Buya Sabe and Netu in Kola-Kola Village. Although these crafts hold significant cultural value and economic potential, the artisans face challenges in setting competitive selling prices and utilizing digital marketing to expand their market. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations of artisans and relevant parties.                 The results of the research indicate that, before training, the artisans set product prices without calculating the cost of goods sold (COGS), leading to suboptimal profits. After receiving guidance, the artisans began to understand the importance of systematically calculating COGS and adding a reasonable profit margin. Furthermore, the study found that limited access to technology, especially ownership of mobile phones and internet access, is the main obstacle to the implementation of digital marketing. Some artisans who have utilized social media and e-commerce reported an increase in interactions with consumers and orders from outside the region.                 This study concludes that optimizing pricing strategies and digital marketing can enhance the competitiveness of Buya Sabe and Netu handicrafts. With support from local authorities and collaboration among artisans, the technological access limitations can be overcome, and digital marketing has proven to be effective in expanding market reach. Practical recommendations are provided for artisans in Kola-Kola Village to better optimize their product potential in both local and international markets.

Abstract

The importance of community empowerment in processing marine products, especially fish, which can be made into high-value economic products such as fish crackers. Ma'rang Village has the potential for abundant fish resources, but there is still limited community knowledge about efficient processing techniques. The purpose of this counseling is to provide understanding to the community on how to make quality fish crackers, as well as their benefits as a business opportunity. The method used was a direct counseling approach by providing materials on fish cracker making, involving local residents as participants. The counseling also included techniques for selecting fish raw materials, processing, and proper storage so that the product remains durable and has a high selling value. The results of the counseling showed that the community was enthusiastic and began to understand the process of making fish crackers with the right techniques, as well as the importance of maintaining product quality. In addition, they also gained insight into the utilization of social media to expand the market. The implication of this activity is the improvement of community skills in processing fish into processed products with economic value, as well as opening opportunities for them to develop a more competitive fish cracker business. It is hoped that this activity can continue with the provision of further training related to marketing and access to more modern production equipment to increase the competitiveness of fish cracker products in local and national markets.

Abstract

Oral health promotion is a preventive effort aimed at increasing awareness and healthy behaviors from an early age. This study was conducted in Bajo Soropia Indah Village to evaluate the effectiveness of oral health promotion in improving children's knowledge and tooth brushing habits. The methods used included health education, demonstration of proper tooth brushing techniques, topical fluoride application, and plaque index examination as an indicator of oral hygiene. The results showed that all child participants (n=6) had poor plaque index scores (100%). Following the implementation of the health promotion program, an increase in knowledge and a shift in behavior regarding oral hygiene are expected. The findings emphasize the importance of educational interventions and routine check-ups in preventing dental and oral diseases among children in remote areas. Community-based health promotion programs have proven to be a relevant approach in improving children's oral health status.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to empower families in utilizing Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as a form of complementary midwifery care. The method used was interactive lectures combined with discussion, basic demonstrations, and structured interviews with five key informants, including a village midwife, health cadres, and housewives. The interviews revealed that public knowledge about TOGA remained traditional and unstructured, but there was strong enthusiasm for developing home TOGA gardens. Informants viewed TOGA as an affordable, accessible natural alternative, especially for minor complaints in maternal and child health. The main barriers identified were limited practical knowledge and the availability of plant seeds. This activity successfully increased community understanding and motivation to apply TOGA independently and appropriately. It also opened opportunities for forming village-based TOGA communities. The program is expected to be continued through cross-sector collaboration to strengthen health practices rooted in local wisdom
