Abstract

This study explored the use of sound devices in selected Shakespearean, Spenserian, and Petrarchan sonnets.  A qualitative comparative analysis was conducted on three selected sonnets about love and death.  The analysis revealed that all three sonnets utilize accent, rhythm, meter, and rhyme to create a structured musical quality.  Additionally, all three forms employ alliteration, consonance, assonance, and repetition to various degrees, influencing the poem's rhythm, memorability, and emotional impact. All three forms of sonnets employed both euphony and cacophony with some lines overlapping each other to create a contrast that will build tension and anticipation.  Finally, none of the sonnets employed onomatopoeia. This research highlights the diverse uses of sound devices within different sonnet forms enriching the understanding of how these poems achieve their artistic effects. The research suggests that investigating the correlation between sound devices with other sonnets under the three forms would be beneficial for future studies as it will provide a general pattern of what sound devices the three forms prefer using

Abstract

The development of rhizome plants as raw materials for traditional medicine in South Sulawesi has not been widely developed, compared to other regions such as Java. In South Sulawesi, lemongrass, jeringau, betel, and ginger plants have not been managed professionally, especially when associated with the Petik Olah Jual (PELAJU) concept. This study aims to examine and determine the development of the industrial economy through cultivation and picking and selling of rhizome plants (Jeringau, Lemongrass, and Betel) as raw materials for traditional medicine / aromatherapy production at the farm level and also to analyze the application of the Petik Olah Jual concept to the potential of the green economy in processing rhizome plant extracts as raw materials for traditional medicines in the Makassar, Gowa, Maros and Takalar (Mamminasata) region. Conclusion: the mapping of rhizome plants in South Sulawesi and efforts to empower the Industrial economy and the welfare and skills of rhizome farmers to process into halal-based traditional medicine products are quite prospective. Economic development of the rhizome plant industry as a raw material for traditional medicine production at the farm level is used as a raw material for traditional medicine, can increase farmers' income

Abstract

The ablution place is one of the places that is always used as an initial means of prayer. From the results of the discussion, it is known that there are several design sizes that have been changed such as the height of the faucet from 100 cm to 136 cm, the width of the gutter from 20 cm to 25 cm and the addition of a shelf with a height of 120 cm to 163 cm to be used to put songkok and other items. Soap height from 110 cm to 140 cm. In addition, the addition of anti-slip rubber carpet on the floor along the ablution place is needed to provide safety so as not to slip due to slippery floors and the addition of a 35 cm high footrest from the 95 % PL percentile to make it easier to wash your feet and be safe and comfortable during ablution.Second, anti-slip floor surfaces to prevent slipping accidents, which often occur in wet areas. Third, the provision of physical supports such as handrails to assist users who need extra help, such as the elderly or those with limited mobility. By designing an ergonomic ablution place, it will enrich the literature in ergonomic design studies and also a commitment to improving the quality of life and spirituality of mosque worshipers, so that Muslim-friendly tourist destination facilities in halal tourism will be more attractive to visit

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, originating from Wuhan, China, in December 2019 and declared a pandemic by WHO in March 2020, has led to significant global health impacts. This study explores the gender-specific effects of the pandemic on eating habits, stress levels, and weight changes among university students in Indonesia. This research conducted is a quantitative cross-sectional study. Data was collected online from 686 Indonesian university students over a 35-day period using a validated and reliable questionnaire. The questionnaire covered demographic information, eating habits, lifestyle factors, and weight changes. Univariate and bivariate analyses were performed to assess the differences between male and female students. A significant gender difference was observed in breakfast habits, with males more likely to eat breakfast regularly (p = 0.001). Stress levels were generally moderate, but females showed a higher tendency for severe stress compared to males, who exhibited more mild stress (p = 0.000). Both genders reported increased food consumption and decreased snacking frequency. No significant gender differences were found in supplement intake. Female students experienced higher stress levels and different eating habits compared to males. Educational institutions should promote awareness of healthy eating and stress management, particularly during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic

Amidst the period of globalization, higher education institutions are confronted with mounting pressure to compete on a worldwide level. This rivalry requires the attraction of students, faculty, and researchers with various international backgrounds and the production of high-quality, influential research. Efficient human resource management (HRM) is crucial in this particular situation. This study investigates the strategic HRM approaches that can improve the global competitiveness of higher education institutions. The research use qualitative methodologies, such as in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, to identify crucial human resource management (HRM) strategies. These strategies encompass strategic recruitment, ongoing professional development, efficient performance management, employee engagement, and leadership development. Furthermore, the study offers practical suggestions for institutions to enhance the quality of their research and education. These recommendations include engaging in strategic planning to improve academic development, encouraging student participation in research, forming partnerships with industries, investing in research infrastructure, and creating comprehensive training programs. By maximizing these human resource management (HRM) techniques, educational institutions can more effectively adjust to global difficulties, improve their international reputation, and make substantial contributions to scientific and educational progress
