Abstract

The potential of sorghum plants to produce allelopathy is determined by the variety and the level of stress it receives. This study aimed to obtain information on the potential of sorghum water extract as a bioherbicide due to water stress treatment with different varieties. This study used a one-factor group randomized design. The extract source treatments were as follows: Super 2 + watering once every 1, 2, and 3 days; Suri 4 + watering once every 1, 2, and 3 days; Bioguma + watering once every 1, 2, and 3 days and control. Bioassay method experiments in petri dishes. Each petri dish was given 10 ml of aqueous extract with a concentration of 5%. A total of 25 sorghum seeds were planted and incubated for three days. The results showed that all water extracts from sorghum varieties Super 2, Suri 4, and Bioguma, combined with all water stresses, could inhibit the growth of the test plants. However, Super 2 + once every 5 days inhibited the test plants the most compared to the other treatments. Therefore, these sorghum water extracts have the potential to be used as bioherbicides to control weeds

Abstract

Marigold (Tagetes erecta) is an ornamental herbaceous and medicinal plant that is easily cultivated, so many are found at various heights, such as in Kepahiang Bengkulu regency, Indonesia. In addition, marigolds contain nutrients and bioactive compounds that have yet to be fully utilized. This study aims to identify the morphology, nutrients and bioactive compounds of marigold flowers in Kepahiang district of Bengkulu, Indonesia. The study was conducted using a purposive sampling survey method by conducting non-experimental descriptive observations. Sampling locations were conducted around Kepahiang regency. The variables observed were morphological identification, nutrient content and bioactive compounds. Two accessions are found: marigold flowers with small petals of orange and marigold flowers with small petals of yellow. Orange marigold flowers with small petals-shaped protein (10.51%) are higher than the small yellow marigold (9.49%), while the protein content of leaves (5.96%) is lower than the protein marigold flowers. Small-sized orange Petals marigold flowers have a higher carotenoid content (166.41 mg/kg) than small-sized yellow petals flowers (85.89 mg/kg). But compared to flowers, marigold leaves have a higher chlorophyll content (246.93 mg/kg). Marigold flower with orange petals in a small shape has the best nutritional and bioactive compounds content for poultry feed

Abstract

Pakistan is one of the countries in the South Asian region with a complicated insurgency threat. The marginalization carried out by the government against certain groups is the main trigger for the emergence of separatist groups that oppose political authority. In its development, the group mutated to become a very large and brutal population. This study will analyze the description of the insurgency threat that occurred in Pakistan and how the government's strategy in dealing with the insurgency threat is. This research was conducted using a descriptive approach, with research data obtained from primary data and secondary data. In this study, the researcher concludes that the threat of insurgency in Pakistan is very complex and tends to last a long time, because past grievances have not been resolved and the interests of many separatist groups conflict with each other, thereby prolonging the asymmetrical conflict in Pakistan. Facing the threat of insurgency, the Pakistani government uses a military and non-military approach as well as seeks to strengthen national defense to be able to reduce conflicts that occur and minimize the impact caused by the long-standing insurgency conflict

Abstract

This study examines the application of ushul fiqh, the foundational discipline of Islamic jurisprudence, in modern Islamic banking and its implications for the global economic system. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, this research analyzes academic contributions from 2018 to 2024, focusing on the integration of Islamic principles into banking practices. The findings reveal that ushul fiqh significantly reduces financial instability through principles like the prohibition of riba (interest), reduction of gharar (uncertainty), and emphasis on maslahat (public welfare). These principles align economic transactions with ethical values, fostering inclusivity and sustainability. However, challenges such as regulatory standardization and integration into global markets persist. Despite these, the study identifies substantial growth opportunities for Islamic banking, especially with the rise of sharia-compliant Fintech solutions. This research highlights the potential of ushul fiqh as a transformative tool for promoting justice and resilience in global financial systems while meeting the ethical demands of modern economies

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the management strategies of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Negeri Rumah Tiga, Teluk Ambon District. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, with informants consisting of three individuals directly involved in the management of BUMDes Tuniwaya: the Director, the Secretary, and the Supervisor of BUMDes. Data collection was conducted through observation, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and documentation. Data analysis was performed descriptively using qualitative methods with SWOT, IFAS, and EFAS analysis tools. The results indicate that BUMDes Tuniwaya has strong potential for development due to solid legal support and active backing from the village government. Effective management, reflected in the responsible leadership of the director, is a significant asset. However, BUMDes also faces significant challenges, including limited capital, human resources, physical infrastructure, and inadequate promotional media. Internal factor analysis shows a score of 2.90, indicating the need to address weaknesses to improve performance. An EFAS score of 3.80 suggests good opportunities to leverage cooperation with BULOG and marketing through social media. To achieve its maximum potential, BUMDes needs to focus on resource development and increasing community awareness of its benefits

Abstract

The Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) is a key policy tool used by local governments to support operational activities and regional development. The ability to manage the APBD reflects the local government's capacity to meet the financing needs. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of regional financial performance, effectiveness ratio, efficiency ratio, harmony ratio, and growth ratio on the level of regional independence in the City Government of Medan and Tebing Tinggi. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach with testing through multiple linear regression analysis, utilizing secondary data obtained from the official website www.djpk.kemenkeu.go.id. The findings show that, in a partial analysis, the effectiveness ratio (X1), efficiency ratio (X2), harmony ratio (X3), and growth ratio (X4) have a significant impact on the regional financial performance, with each having a significance value of 0.00 (< 0.05). However, when analyzed simultaneously, these four variables do not significantly influence the regional independence ratio. This study, conducted over the period from 2019 to 2023 with a 95.5% confidence level, is expected to serve as a reference for local governments to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial management in the future
