Abstract

Islamic civilization is the product of dynamic interaction between the dimensions of thought, politics, and culture throughout its history. This article aims to analyze the interrelation of these three pillars in shaping the character of Islamic civilization, from the classical to the contemporary era. Methodologically, this research uses a historical-analytical approach and is conducted through a literature study, tracing primary and secondary sources related to the development of theological-philosophical thought, the transformation of political configurations from the era of the Khulafa’ al-Rashidun to the modern nation-state, as well as cultural dynamics that reflect processes of acculturation. The findings indicate that the progress of Islamic civilization occurred when there was positive synergy: creative-rational thought, a political structure supportive of intellectual freedom, and a cosmopolitan culture. Conversely, intellectual stagnation and political authoritarianism were directly proportional to cultural decline. The article concludes that the revival of contemporary Islamic civilization requires an integrative reconstruction of these three dimensions, which can only be achieved through an interdisciplinary and contextual approach to formulate a synthesis relevant to the modern age

Abstract

Islamic civilization is the result of a dynamic interaction between thought, politics, and culture that has developed throughout history. This article aims to analyze how these three pillars are intertwined in shaping the character of Islamic civilization from classical to contemporary times. The study is conducted using a historical-analytical approach by tracing the development of theological and philosophical thought, political configurations from the Khulafa’ al-Rāsyidīn era to the era of the modern nation-state, and cultural dynamics that reflect the process of acculturation of Islam with local traditions. The research findings indicate that the progress of Islamic civilization occurs when thought is creative and rational, political structures support intellectual freedom, and culture develops cosmopolitanly. Conversely, stagnation of thought and political authoritarianism have a direct impact on cultural decline. This article emphasizes that the revival of Islamic civilization today demands an integrative reconstruction of these three dimensions through an interdisciplinary and contextual approach.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the policies of school and madrasah principals in implementing P5/PPRA at SMAN 2 Pamekasan and MAN 2 Pamekasan, including the challenges and advantages encountered in the process. The research employed a qualitative approach with a collective instrumental case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the formulation of policies by principals in implementing P5/PPRA is a strategic response to the Merdeka Curriculum framework. The policy process involves the issuance of formal decrees, followed by systematic planning and implementation stages. The primary challenges faced by both institutions relate to student engagement, while financial constraints were specifically identified at MAN 2 Pamekasan. The advantages of the policy implementation include character development, as well as the enhancement of students’ knowledge and skills. This study contributes to the discourse on educational leadership and may serve as a reference for policy implementation of P5/PPRA in senior high schools and Islamic senior high schools.

Abstract

This research explores Ibn Jauzi's criticism of the hadiths in Abu Dawood's Sunan, followed by al-Suyuti's defense. The hadiths deemed maud'u (fabricated) by Ibn Jauzi are documented in his work titled "al-Maudu’at libni al-Jauzi," which is then refuted by al-Suyuti in his writing titled "Alai al-Manu’ah Fi al-Ahadithu al-Maudu’ah." The research methodology employed is literature study, where all information is derived from relevant written sources directly or indirectly related to the topic. The selected hadiths for the study are referenced from their original sources. After conducting the analysis, the researcher identified several hadiths in Sunan Abu Dawood deemed maud'u or false according to Ibn Jauzi, and these criticisms are countered by al-Suyuti in his work "Alai al-Manu’ah Fi al-Ahadithu al-Maudu’ah." Based on the research findings, Ibn Jauzi critiques hadiths in Sunan Abu Dawood, focusing on a maud'u hadith involving three chains, including Ibn Abbas, with errors in the chain, strengthened by Imam Zarkashi. The second criticism relates to the inauthenticity of the hadith due to the involvement of the narrator 'Ammar, whom Ibn Jauzi accuses of lying. Al-Suyuti defends this hadith, stating that 'Ammar did not narrate it personally, and there are other chains supporting its validity. Al-Suyuti's third response indicates that Imam Bukhari also narrated the hadith, even including it in the chapter on etiquette in "al-Adab al-Mufrad," acknowledging its authenticity.

Abstract

The ongoing dichotomy between religious and secular sciences within Islamic education has prompted the need to reconstruct the epistemological paradigm of pesantren education. Traditionally, pesantren have emphasized religious instruction while providing limited attention to empirical sciences. This study aims to analyze the integration of knowledge within pesantren curricula through the lens of Islamic educational philosophy, focusing on the application of tawhidi epistemology as the foundation for unifying knowledge. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study conducts philosophical analysis on classical and contemporary works, including those of al-Ghazali, al-Attas, and Fazlur Rahman. The findings reveal that pesantren have begun implementing knowledge integration by merging the curricula of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Education with traditional Islamic curricula, alongside contextual learning approaches rooted in Islamic values. The study implies that repositioning Islamic educational epistemology from a dichotomous to a tawhidi paradigm is crucial to enable pesantren to produce knowledgeable, ethical, and adaptive generations capable of addressing modern challenges

Abstract

Education is a conscious and well-planned effort to create learning environments and processes that enable students to actively develop their potential, including spiritual and religious strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills needed for themselves and society. This study aims to examine the role of Akidah Akhlak teachers in addressing deviant behavior among students at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratorium, Jambi City. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that Akidah Akhlak teachers play their roles through three main approaches: preventive approaches, including habituation and the inculcation of moral values; curative approaches, such as guidance and counseling as well as moral advice; and repressive approaches, involving the application of educational sanctions. The obstacles encountered include environmental influences, lack of parental supervision, and students’ low level of religious awareness. The study concludes that various forms of deviant behavior occur at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratorium, Jambi City, influenced by multiple factors originating from family, environment, and individual characteristics. Overall, Akidah Akhlak teachers play a significant role in overcoming deviant behavior through integrated preventive, curative, and repressive strategies

Abstract

The Hadith of Iftirāq al-Ummah states that the Muslim community will split into seventy-three sects, with only one group known as al-Firqah al-Nājiyah attaining salvation. This study aims to critically analyze the chain of transmission (sanad) and the text (matan) of this hadith, as well as to examine its contemporary theological implications, particularly concerning the understanding of the Firqah Nājiyah concept within the framework of Religious Moderation. The methodology applied includes takhrij and naqd al-ḥadīth (hadith criticism), enriched by a comparative study of the perspectives of classical theologians (mutakallimūn) and contemporary Indonesian scholars. The research findings reveal that this hadith possesses a strong sanad (ṣaḥīḥ li-ghayrihi) due to support from various corroborative transmissions (mutāba'āt). However, the matan specifically the threatening phrase "Hellfire" is vulnerable to criticism of shudhūdh if interpreted literally and outside its proper context. Within the contemporary socio-religious context of Indonesia, thinkers and scholars reconstruct the meaning of al-Firqah al-Nājiyah not as an exclusive and closed group identity, but as a collective commitment to practicing the principles of Religious Moderation (al-Wasaṭiyyah) and maintaining Unity (al-Jamā'ah). This reinterpretation ultimately encourages the development of an attitude of inclusiveness, tolerance, and broader social harmony within a plural society

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the innovative management of school facilities and infrastructure in improving the quality of digital learning at MI Ma'arif NU 01 Pandansari. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and school committees, as well as documentation of facility inventories and teacher training reports. The findings indicate that innovative management of facilities and infrastructure is implemented through technology-based needs planning, optimization of digital device utilization including smart classrooms, interactive projectors, and internet networks, as well as the development of a learning environment that adapts to technological advancements. The principal acts as a transformational leader and innovator by integrating technology into the learning process and involving teachers and educational staff in collaborative management. The implementation of this innovative management has successfully enhanced students' learning motivation, the effectiveness of online learning, teachers' digital competencies through continuous training programs such as Google Classroom, Canva, and Kahoot, as well as strengthening community participation in facility maintenance. Therefore, innovative management of facilities and infrastructure serves as a strategic factor in improving the quality of digital learning in Islamic elementary schools while maintaining religious values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the legislative process of the TNI Law and assess its conformity with the principles of siyasah dusturiyah, particularly the principle of deliberation (musyawarah). The research employs a normative legal method with a library-based approach, utilizing secondary data consisting of primary legal materials and secondary legal sources. The findings indicate that, from a normative–formal perspective, the formation of the TNI Law has complied with the stages of legislation as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and Law Number 12 of 2011 on the Formation of Laws and Regulations. However, from a procedural and democratic standpoint, the legislative process raises several serious concerns, particularly regarding the fulfillment of the principles of transparency and meaningful public participation. The relatively expedited legislative process, the limited dissemination of the academic draft and the bill, and the constrained space for dialogue with civil society and academic communities demonstrate that public participation was not optimally implemented as mandated by the Law on the Formation of Laws and Regulations and the Constitutional Court’s decisions on meaningful participation. Such limited participation is inconsistent with the principle of deliberation embodied in siyasah dusturiyah

Abstract

The development of the times that occurred in this digital era gave rise to various kinds of impacts felt by all elements of society, as well as students. The inability to stem the negative impacts of technological advances has resulted in intellectual degradation and moral decadence for students in the digital era. Moving on from these problems, through a juridical approach, this research was conducted by relying on reading materials in the form of books, scientific research journals and social realities that occur in society, so as to get answers to what is the formulation of the problem. By associating the relevance of the problematical shocks of intellectual degradation and moral decadence in students in the digital era with Al-Ghazali's theory of thought, by reflecting on Al-Ghazali's theory to obtain results in the form of strategies in dealing with threats and challenges of intellectual degradation and moral decadence in students in the digital era is by realizing that the intention to study is to achieve enjoyment in this world and in the hereafter, which should be accompanied by support from an education system that applies Islamization or involves religious aspects in all knowledge given as Al-Ghazali's theory of thought
