Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reinterpretation of the iddah period of career women in the perspective of KH's thought. Husein Muhammad by using the maqasid sharia approach. Normatively, iddah is a waiting period for women after divorce or the death of their husbands to maintain honor, ensure pregnancy status, and provide space for emotional recovery. However, the classical fiqh understanding that emphasizes al-habs fi al-bait (staying at home) is often patriarchal and irrelevant to the conditions of modern women who are actively working. This study uses a literature study method with a socio-historical approach, and a descriptive-analytical content analysis of KH's work. Husein Muhammad, classical fiqh literature, as well as secondary sources related to sharia maqasid and gender. The results of the study show that KH. Husein reinterpreted the law of iddah to be in accordance with the goals of the sharia which are oriented towards justice, benefit, and protection of human dignity. She rejects textual views that limit women's space of movement, because it is contrary to the values of hifz al-nafs, hifz al-mal, and hifz al-din. KH's thoughts. Husein Muhammad reflects a form of ijtihad maqasidi that bridges tradition and modernity, presenting an Islam that is humanist, contextual, and gender-correct

Abstract

This study examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a learning companion for children and its impact on parent–child interpersonal communication from a communication psychology perspective. Employing a qualitative approach, the study involved in-depth interviews with 25 parents who actively use AI-based learning applications, along with content analysis of five AI learning platforms. Data were collected between August and October 2024 in the Jabodetabek region through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and digital content analysis. The findings reveal that the integration of AI into children’s learning creates a triadic communication dynamic involving parents, children, and technology, with 92% of participants reporting that AI has become a routine component of daily learning activities. AI offers positive contributions by enhancing learning accessibility (84%), enabling personalized learning, and reducing emotional conflict between parents and children (72%). However, AI use may also reduce the intensity of direct verbal communication (68%) and increase the risk of technological dependency among children (28%). The study identifies four effective communication strategies—active co-engagement, complementary role specialization, scheduled tech-free quality time, and critical digital literacy education to support balanced AI use while maintaining emotional bonds within families

Abstract

This article examines the challenges faced by single mothers who assume dual roles as both father and mother. The absence of one parental figure in the family structure creates psychological pressures that affect maternal mental well-being and family stability. This study employs a qualitative, literature-based approach to analyze the double burden experienced by single mothers and to explore Qur’anic interpretive perspectives on this phenomenon. Findings indicate that a holistic spiritual approach through worship, trust in Allah (tawakal), and adherence to the values of tawhid fosters patience, contentment, and inner peace. Furthermore, understanding that every hardship is accompanied by ease enables single mothers to perceive life challenges as temporary trials, enhancing psychological resilience. Well-maintained mental health also positively influences parenting patterns, promoting harmonious interactions between mother and child and ensuring the fulfillment of children’s rights in education and character development. The study highlights the significance of integrating spiritual support, emotional empowerment, and self-actualization as key strategies for sustaining the well-being of single-parent families, while underscoring the role of Qur’anic interpretation as guidance for addressing psychosocial challenges.

Abstract

Improving education quality relies heavily on teachers’ professional reflection; however, traditional Academic Supervision (AS) is often inspectorial, hindering openness and failing to trigger sustainable self-development. This study aims to describe the implementation of Academic Supervision based on a coaching mindset using the TIRTA flow and to analyze its impact on enhancing teachers’ professional reflection. This research employed a School Action Research (SAR) design across two cycles at SMP Negeri 3 Sumbang. The subjects included the Principal and ten core subject teachers identified with low reflection levels. Data were collected using self-reflection questionnaires, coaching skill observations, and interviews. The results showed a significant increase in teachers’ professional reflection scores, rising from an average of 60.1% in the Pre-Cycle to 85.5% at the end of Cycle II, surpassing the success criteria. This quantitative improvement is supported by qualitative findings indicating that teachers became more comfortable and critical in analyzing their Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and professional beliefs. It is concluded that applying a coaching mindset through the TIRTA flow successfully transforms the supervision paradigm from inspection into a partnership, effectively fostering internal motivation and building a collaborative school culture.

Abstract

Soil-Transmitted Helminth (STH) infections remain a significant public health concern in Indonesia, particularly among children. The high prevalence of these infections is closely associated with poor environmental sanitation, inadequate hygiene practices, and low levels of health literacy. This study aims to analyze Qur’anic perspectives on cleanliness and health and examine their relevance to the prevention of STH infections in children. A literature-based method with a thematic (mawḍū‘ī) tafsir approach was employed to explore Qur’anic verses and Prophetic traditions related to ṭahārah, halal and ṭayyib dietary practices, and disease prevention principles. The findings indicate that the Qur’an normatively emphasizes personal and environmental cleanliness, preventive health behavior, and responsible lifestyle practices as integral components of Islamic ethics. These principles are strongly aligned with the modern concept of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). The integration of Qur’anic health values into child health education is therefore considered effective as a holistic promotive and preventive strategy. Consequently, the application of Islamic health principles has the potential to contribute to reducing the risk of STH infections while simultaneously strengthening value-based public health awareness in Muslim communities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of kenduri from the perspective of Islamic education, focusing on its role in transmitting religious values and shaping moral character within Muslim communities in the Indonesian archipelago. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, utilizing observation, interviews, and document analysis to explore how kenduri functions as a non-formal educational medium. The findings indicate that kenduri is not merely a social and religious ritual but a dynamic practice that embodies key Islamic educational values, including monotheism, gratitude, brotherhood, ta'awun (mutual assistance), and moral development. Through communal prayers, charitable activities, and collective preparation of feasts, participants internalize spiritual and social values experientially, fostering sincerity, humility, togetherness, and social awareness. Moreover, kenduri strengthens social cohesion and enhances divine consciousness by integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of learning within a communal context. These results highlight the relevance of kenduri as an effective contextualized educational strategy for contemporary Islamic education, demonstrating its potential to build moral society, reinforce Islamic identity, and cultivate character formation in daily life.

Abstract

Islamic philosophy constitutes an intellectual tradition that has developed through a dynamic dialectic between revelation and reason in the pursuit of understanding metaphysical, cosmological, and anthropological realities. This article examines three major schools within Islamic philosophy Peripateticism, Illuminationism, and Perennialism which represent distinct epistemological and spiritual approaches to the quest for ultimate truth. Peripateticism, as developed by prominent figures such as al-Kindi, al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Ibn Rushd, emphasizes rational intellect and logical methodology as primary means of acquiring knowledge. Illuminationism, pioneered by Suhrawardi, integrates philosophical rationality with intuition and inner spiritual experience as legitimate sources of knowledge. Meanwhile, Perennialism, popularized by Seyyed Hossein Nasr, highlights the synthesis of reason, revelation, and intuition in the pursuit of universal and transcendent truth. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach to analyze relevant primary and secondary sources. The findings indicate that these three intellectual traditions have made significant contributions to the enrichment of Islamic philosophical discourse and offer conceptual frameworks that remain relevant in addressing contemporary intellectual and spiritual challenges

Abstract

This article examines the history of Islamic thought and reform movements in Indonesia by tracing the development of Islam from its early arrival to the contemporary period. The study aims to identify the transformation of Islamic intellectual discourse and the dynamics of reform movements that emerged in response to social change, colonial pressures, modernization, and globalization. The research employs a historical approach based on literature review, archival documents, and the analysis of reformist scholars’ ideas. The findings indicate that Islam entered the Indonesian archipelago peacefully through trade routes around the 7th century and expanded significantly in the 13th century, leading to the establishment of Islamic kingdoms and the growth of religious scholarship. In the modern era, prominent reformers such as Hasyim Asy’ari, Ahmad Dahlan, and Abdurrahman Wahid introduced integrative concepts related to Islam, education, pluralism, and democracy. This study concludes that Islamic reform in Indonesia is a continuous and dynamic process that seeks to maintain the relevance of Islamic teachings in social and national life.

Abstract

The conceptualization of Islamic Studies as a discipline that is developing progressively within academic discourse and socio-religious practice. Islamic studies are essentially not only oriented toward normative-theological understanding, but also require engagement with historical, philosophical, and socio-humanities approaches to provide a comprehensive picture of the dynamics of Islamic scholarship. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to comprehensively examine the epistemology and methodology of Islamic studies in contemporary academic discourse. Furthermore, developments in globalization, modernization, and socio-political change have influenced the direction and methods of Islamic studies, thus demanding flexibility and openness in developing conceptual frameworks. The research findings emphasize that Islamic studies cannot be understood in a singular sense, but rather as an open, critical, and transformative intellectual field. The conceptualization offered in this article emphasizes the importance of strengthening the epistemological, methodological, and social relevance aspects of Islamic studies, so that it remains adaptive and contributing to addressing the challenges of the times. Thus, Islamic studies can continue to develop as a discipline that not only maintains religious authenticity but is also relevant in the context of modern science and the needs of global society
