Abstract

The integration of the Turos Curriculum and the National Curriculum at Ma’had Aly Nurul Jadid represents a strategic effort to address the demands of contemporary Islamic education, which emphasizes a balance between mastery of classical Islamic knowledge and modern academic competencies. This study aims to analyze the process and outcomes of integrating these two curricula in shaping students’ character based on the values of Trilogi Santri and Panca Kesadaran Santri. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving administrators, lecturers, and students as research subjects. The findings indicate that curriculum integration is implemented through the synchronization of Islamic and general subjects, habituation of religious practices, and the strengthening of students’ social and organizational activities. The novelty of this study lies in positioning Trilogi Santri and Panca Kesadaran Santri not only as moral values but also as epistemological and pedagogical foundations. Thus, curriculum integration is understood as a process of value internalization and character formation, producing students who are religious, possess strong integrity, demonstrate intellectual competence, and are adaptive to social dynamics and contemporary developments

Abstract

Risk management is an important aspect in maintaining the sustainability of Islamic financial institutions, particularly in muḍarabah financing, which is characterized by profit-sharing but also involves risks of loss and uncertainty. This study aims to analyze the risk mitigation strategies implemented by USPPS BMT An-Nawawi Berjan Purworejo in managing muḍarabah financing. The research method employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, utilizing documentation, interviews with managers, marketing staff, and employees, as well as references from reliable sources. Data analysis techniques include reduction, display, and verification, while data validity is examined through triangulation. The findings indicate that risk mitigation strategies are effective, as evidenced by the annual decline in non-performing financing (NPF). The main strategy applied is reconditioning in risk management. Internal obstacles include employees’ lack of focus in analyzing prospective customers, while external obstacles arise from muḍarib customers who demonstrate poor intentions in fulfilling their obligations. Overall, the implementation of risk mitigation strategies at USPPS BMT An-Nawawi Berjan can be considered successful, as it minimizes problematic financing and supports the sustainability of muḍarabah products

Abstract

This article examines a comparative analysis of the metaphysical concepts of Imam al-Ghazālī and Seyyed Hossein Nasr by highlighting the fundamental similarities and differences in their thought. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, drawing on major scholarly books and relevant academic journal articles. The findings indicate that both al-Ghazālī and Nasr position God as the Absolute Reality and reject materialistic views of reality. Al-Ghazālī developed his metaphysical framework within the context of classical Islamic thought to harmonize theology, philosophy, and Sufism while safeguarding doctrinal orthodoxy. Meanwhile, Nasr formulates metaphysics as a critique of modernity through the concepts of scientia sacra, the hierarchy of being, and the sacredness of nature. Differences in historical context lead to variations in intellectual orientation; however, both thinkers affirm that Islamic metaphysics carries significant epistemological, ethical, and spiritual implications. This article concludes that the metaphysical ideas of al-Ghazālī and Nasr are complementary in demonstrating the enduring relevance of Islamic metaphysics in addressing religious and human challenges across different eras

Abstract

In Religious Court proceedings, some divorce by talak cases lapse due to failure to pronounce talak as required by law, raising concerns over legal certainty and the rights of wives. This study examines the causes of lapsed Divorce of talak cases, analyses judicial reasoning in determining spousal maintenance obligations, and assesses the implications of such lapses for the legal protection of wives. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a normative legal approach. Primary data are derived from Case Number 1193/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Pwr, while secondary data consists of statutory regulations and relevant legal literature. The findings show that the lapse of the Divorce of talak case resulted from the petitioner’s failure to pronounce talak within the six months stipulated in Article 70, paragraph (6) of the Religious Courts Act. Judges based the determination of maintenance obligations on Article 80 paragraph (4) and Article 149 letters (a) and (b) of the Compilation of Islamic Law, supported by legal facts concerning neglect of maintenance and the parties’ economic conditions. The lapse of the case causes uncertainty regarding outstanding maintenance and marital status, resulting in psychological and social burdens for the wife. This study confirms that lapsed Divorce of talak cases have juridical implications for the legal protection of wives

Abstract

This article proposes an integrative model for future-oriented legal development in Indonesia by combining critical legal theory and progressive law within a unified analytical and prescriptive framework. Legal reform in Indonesia has predominantly focused on normative and procedural adjustments, yet persistent structural problems remain, including weak management of legal pluralism, the dominance of formalism, institutional bias, and unequal access to justice. This study employs normative legal research using conceptual, statutory, and historical-contextual approaches. Critical legal theory is applied as a diagnostic instrument to uncover power relations and structural injustices embedded in legal design and practice. Progressive law is subsequently positioned as a prescriptive framework to reconstruct law toward substantive justice through contextual interpretation and the protection of vulnerable groups. To ensure accountability and prevent subjectivism, the proposed model incorporates an accountability lock-in mechanism grounded in substantive rule of law, constitutional control, and reason-giving requirements. This study contributes both theoretical insight and a practical roadmap for developing a more just and accountable legal system in Indonesia.

Abstract

Classical fiqh has long placed limits on women's testimony, giving preference to male witnesses based on textual interpretations of Islamic sources of law. This perspective is rooted in classical jurisprudence that considers male testimony to be superior because of the difference in rational capacity and memory between men and women. However, along with social, educational, and intellectual development, this classical approach has been increasingly criticized for being considered incompatible with the principles of justice in Islam. This study aims to analyze the concept of transformative fiqh related to the role of women as witnesses in Islamic marriage contracts. In addition, a comparative analysis was carried out on legal practices in various Muslim countries that have begun to shift to a more inclusive and competency-based witness system. This research uses a qualitative research method with a normative-juridical approach, analyzing classical fiqh texts, the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah, and contemporary legal frameworks. The results of this study show that transformative fiqh offers a fairer and more relevant approach in Islamic jurisprudence, so that the testimony in the marriage contract can be in line with the principles of justice and legal certainty, without abandoning the main purpose of Islamic sharia

Abstract

Academic concerns arise from Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI) financial performance pressures due to Covid-19 pandemic, global economic turmoil, and intense sharia banking competition, destipe OJK regulations and BPKH acquisition worth Rp 5 trillion in 2023. This study aims to analyze BMI’s health level from 2020-2024 using RGEC method and compare changes pre- and post-acquisition. Descriptive quantitative method employs secondary data from BMI’s audited annual reports (purposive sampling), analyzed through ratios; NPF, FDR, GCG self-assessment, ROA, ROE, BOPO, and CAR. Results reveal healthy risk profile (average NPF 2,47%, FDR very healthy rank 1-2), stable GCG (rank 2-3), very healthy capital (average CAR >25% rank 1), but weak earnings (ROA/ROE <0,5%, BOPO >96% rnak 4-5). BPKH acquisition effectively strengthens capital and reduces credit risk exposure. Implications recommend BMI pursue cost restructuring, digitalization, and sharia financing expansion for sustainable profitability enhancement.

Abstract

Religious education plays an important role in shaping adolescents’ character and spiritual resilience, especially during a developmental phase that is vulnerable to social and economic influences. However, in the context of poor rural communities, the implementation of religious education often faces various limitations. This study aims to examine the implementation of religious education among adolescents in Sucenjurutengah Village, Bayan District, Purworejo Regency, and to identify the factors influencing it. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consist of 10 adolescents, 5 parents, and 3 religious leaders selected purposively. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing using triangulation. The findings show that structural poverty significantly affects the low participation of adolescents in non-formal religious education. The main obstacles include involvement in family economic activities, limited educational facilities, and the influence of digital entertainment. Nevertheless, adolescents still demonstrate relatively good religious awareness and potential for development. Therefore, a contextual, collaborative, and socially just approach is needed
