Abstract

This study examines the Rasm al-Qur'an system as a method of Qur'anic writing that not only functions to preserve the authenticity of the revealed text but also embodies and reinforces the values of religious moderation in Islam. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach with library research method, this study analyzes primary sources such as classical 'ulum al-Qur'an books (al-Qurṭubi, al-Ālūsī, al-Dānī) as well as contemporary works on Islamic moderation, supplemented by secondary sources including indexed scientific journals. The findings indicate that Rasm al-Qur'an, standardized during the era of Caliph Uthman bin Affan, serves as an epistemological pillar preserving the purity of revelation through principles of meticulousness, rigorous verification, and an unbroken chain of scholarly transmission tracing back to Prophet Muhammad SAW. This system reflects the values of wasaṭiyyah (moderation) such as balance (tawāzun), justice ('adl), proportionality (i'tidāl), and tolerance (tasāmuh). The diversity within Rasm schools (Al-Dānī and Abū Dāwūd) as well as differences in application across modern mushafs (Madinah Mushaf and Indonesian Standard Mushaf) actually demonstrate the spirit of moderation—not dividing the ummah, but rather enriching Islamic scholarly heritage. This study concludes that deep understanding of Rasm al-Qur'an can serve as a natural filter against exegetical extremism while simultaneously providing a methodological foundation for strengthening authentic religious moderation in the contemporary era

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of Ma'had Aly Sunan Drajat in producing Islamic scholars based on the integration of classical texts and modern academic methodologies. The background of this study is based on the challenges of globalisation and the development of Islamic higher education, which demands the emergence of scholars who not only master classical texts (turats) but also have academic, methodological, and contextual competencies. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing models. The results of this study indicate that Ma'had Aly Sunan Drajat plays a strategic role as a pillar in producing scholar cadres through a turats-based learning system combined with a modern academic approach, such as the use of research methodologies, scientific writing, and a structured evaluation system. This integration is realised in the curriculum, learning process, and academic and character development. With this model, graduates not only have a deep understanding of fiqh and classical Islamic scholarship, but are also able to respond to contemporary issues in an argumentative and systematic manner. This study confirms that the integration of turats and modern academics is a relevant educational model in strengthening the cadre of scholars in the modern era.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of the philosophical foundation of science in developing the Arabic language education curriculum to create holistic and critical learning. This approach is based on the view that language is not merely a communication tool, but also a means of thinking and shaping the intellectual character of students. This research is a library research using content analysis method on primary and secondary sources. The results show that the integration of the three pillars of the philosophy of science ontology, epistemology, and axiology in the Arabic language education curriculum produces comprehensive and balanced learning. Ontologically, Arabic is understood as a scientific entity with linguistic, religious, and cultural dimensions. Epistemologically, learning combines rationalism (logical reasoning) and progressivism (real experience). Axiologically, the curriculum is directed toward practical, moral, and spiritual values. Arabic language learning has proven potential to develop critical thinking skills through analyzing complex language structures, enriching cultural insights, and utilizing innovative technology. Thus, the philosophical foundation of science in the Arabic language education curriculum can produce learning that is not only oriented toward linguistic abilities, but also toward the formation of critical reasoning and wisdom values needed by students

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Progressive Islamic ideology promoted by Muhammadiyah within a traditional Muslim community in Waru Barat Village, Pamekasan, Madura. The socio-religious structure of the community, characterized by the dominance of Islamic boarding schools, the central authority of kiai, and deeply rooted cultural obedience, has shaped a gradual and often resistant response to reformist ideas. This research employs a qualitative field study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive-interpretative methods within sociological and historical frameworks. The findings reveal that ideological transformation did not occur instantly but evolved through cultural negotiation and persuasive da’wah strategies. In its initial phase, the movement encountered ideological rigidity, religious exclusivism, and symbolic conflict. However, through strengthening educational institutions as Muhammadiyah’s charitable enterprises, Progressive Islamic values were gradually internalized. Education functioned as a strategic instrument in reducing ideological tensions and fostering a more rational, inclusive, and adaptive religious outlook without erasing local identity. This study highlights that ideological transformation in traditional societies requires dialogical, contextual, and long-term approaches

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped patterns of social interaction, including the practice of silaturahmi. Previously associated with face-to-face meetings that foster emotional closeness, these relationships are now increasingly conducted through virtual media. This situation creates a social paradox: technology expands connectivity, yet it may reduce the depth of relationships and the spiritual value of human interaction. This study aims to reinterpret Qur’anic verses on silaturahmi and to formulate Qur’anic guidelines for building social interaction in the digital era. The method used is a qualitative approach through library research with a thematic (maudhu’i) tafsir analysis. The findings indicate that silaturahmi has two main dimensions: yuushola, which emphasizes the spiritual relationship with Allah, and al-arham, which emphasizes social relationships among people. Both dimensions form the ethical foundation of social interaction. In the digital context, these values can be implemented by positioning technology as a means (wasilah) rather than an end (ghayah), preventing relational damage and digital isolation, and balancing virtual interactions with face-to-face encounters. Thus, digital technology can be utilized to strengthen silaturahmi in accordance with Qur’anic values in a sustainable manner

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept and educational approaches of moral education presented in Bidayatul Hidayah written by Abu Hamid Muhammad Al-Ghazali and examine its relevance to Islamic boarding school education in the modern era. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design. The primary data source is Bidayatul Hidayah, while secondary sources include books, journal articles, and other relevant literature discussing moral education and Islamic boarding school systems. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify the core concepts and educational approaches embedded in the text. The findings reveal that the concept of moral education in Bidayatul Hidayah consists of three main dimensions: obedience to God, avoiding both outward and inward sins, and maintaining proper social ethics in human interactions. The educational approaches identified include religious-spiritual orientation, habituation, role modeling, and preventive–repressive methods. These concepts remain relevant for contemporary pesantren as they provide a strong moral framework for students facing modern challenges such as digitalization and moral degradation. When implemented adaptively, Al-Ghazali’s ideas can strengthen the role of pesantren in shaping morally upright and socially responsible generations

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of coal cargo transportation that still uses large-capacity trucks on public roads, allegedly violating the implementation of Article 4 of Lampung Provincial Regulation Number 19 of 2014 concerning the use of public roads and special roads for the transportation of mining products and plantation company products. The focus of this research is a review of Fiqh Siyasah Tanfidziyyah on the implementation of this article. The research method uses a qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The research sample consisted of 8 people: 2 employees of the Lampung Province Transportation Agency, 3 coal truck drivers, 2 residents of Panjang, and 1 stockpile guard. The results show that the Siyasah Tanfidziyyah review of the implementation of public road provisions in Article 4 of the Provincial Regulation is not yet appropriate because coal transportation still uses public roads, resulting in road damage due to excessive loads. This condition is caused by several factors: lack of supervision from relevant authorities, limited availability of special road infrastructure for mining transportation, and weak enforcement of sanctions against violations. Thus, the implementation of the Provincial Regulation has not been optimal and requires improvements in the supervision system and stricter law enforcement

Abstract

Parental divorce has multidimensional impacts on children's moral development, yet studies integrating Islamic Family Law and Émile Durkheim's Anomie Theory remain limited. This research aims to analyze the implications of parental divorce on children's morality from the perspective of Islamic Family Law and to explain this phenomenon through the framework of Émile Durkheim's Anomie Theory. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research method, analyzing various relevant literature ranging from legislation, statistical reports, scientific journals, to Durkheim's classical works. The findings reveal that parental divorce triggers anomie conditions manifested in three patterns of implications: normative crisis, socio-emotional isolation, and deviant behavior. Islamic Family Law, through the concepts of hadhanah and maqashid al-syari'ah, offers a comprehensive framework for protecting children's morality, yet its implementation requires a more holistic reformulation. This study recommends strengthening mandatory mediation mechanisms, family restoration programs, and integrated post-divorce supervision.

Abstract

Trading in derivative instruments, particularly futures contracts (futures), is an important part of the modern financial system due to its role in price discovery, risk transfer, and liquidity provision. However, from the perspective of Islamic law, this practice raises serious debates regarding elements of speculation, uncertainty (gharār), and potential injustice that may threaten the objectives of the Sharī‘ah. This article aims to examine futures trading through the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah approach by emphasizing the principles of justice (al-‘adālah), benefit (maṣlaḥah), and wealth protection (ḥifẓ al-māl). This study employs a qualitative method based on library research with a normative-analytical approach, encompassing classical fiqh literature, contemporary fatwas, standards of international Sharī‘ah institutions, and empirical economic studies. The findings indicate that futures trading cannot be classified as strictly permissible or impermissible, but must be understood contextually and conditionally. Futures may be justified if they function as genuine hedging instruments (hedging), supported by clear underlying assets, information transparency, and limitations on excessive speculation. In contrast, the dominance of high leverage and purely speculative activities tends to contradict the objectives of the Sharī‘ah and may lead to instability and injustice in the economic system
