Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 020 Balung through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 32 students, with a focus on social studies learning. The research instruments included observation sheets, critical thinking skill tests, field notes, and interviews. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach by comparing the results across cycles. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills, particularly in identifying problems, providing logical reasons, asking questions, and drawing conclusions from discussions. The achievement level of critical thinking indicators reached 75–85% in the second cycle. Therefore, the implementation of PBL proved effective in enhancing elementary students’ critical thinking skills and provided practical implications for teachers in developing instructional strategies aligned with 21st-century curriculum demands. Additionally, PBL also increased students’ activeness, participation, and confidence in the learning process in the classroom

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) face serious challenges as the 2030 deadline approaches, with many targets experiencing stagnation and even regression across various sectors of global development. On the other hand, the world is entering the era of Society 5.0, which integrates cyberspace and physical space to balance economic progress with innovative and sustainable solutions to social problems. This article aims to analyze the integration of the Civil Society 5.0 concept with the SDGs paradigm through the perspective of Islamic da’wah based on Maqasid al-Shariah as an ethical-operational framework. This study employs a qualitative method with a conceptual literature review approach, examining UN documents, national regulations, as well as contemporary tafsir and fiqh literature. The findings indicate that the principles of khalifah fil ardh, mizan, and the five pillars of Maqasid al-Shariah are aligned with the 17 SDGs and provide a strong moral foundation for sustainable development. Concrete implementations include technology-based zakat optimization, halalan tayyiban food education, psycho-spiritual health integration, and inclusive education grounded in gender justice. However, challenges remain, including the commodification of religion, the digital divide, and epistemological limitations. Islamic da’wah plays a catalytic role in advancing a sustainable digital civil society

Abstract

Discourse on religious moderation in Indonesia remains predominantly shaped by normative policy frameworks and textual analyses, often overlooking customary rituals as lived mechanisms that sustain social harmony. This study identifies and maps the values of religious moderation institutionalized within the marriage traditions of the Linggau tribe. Employing a qualitative ethnographic design, data were gathered through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis with customary elders, religious figures, and ritual practitioners, and analyzed thematically. Findings demonstrate that the Basindo, Ngulang Rasan, Ngantat Dendan, Akad Nikah, Hari Masak, Mapak Sedekah, and Deker stages systematically embody balance (tawassuth), procedural justice (i’tidal), active tolerance (tasamuh), communal solidarity, and contextual spirituality. These values are transmitted intergenerationally as cultural habitus, adapt to modernity, and culturally counteract puritanical homogenization. The study concludes that religious moderation operates as an organic, culturally grounded practice rather than a top-down policy construct. Theoretically, it advances the lived religion paradigm; practically, it advocates embedding local wisdom into multicultural curricula and dynamic heritage preservation frameworks

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the approaches of the Qur’an, Hadith, and the use of religious language in marriage guidance at KUA Panyabungan Utara from the perspective of da'wah management. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Qur’an and Hadith serve as the primary foundations in delivering the material, while religious language is adapted to the social conditions of prospective brides and grooms to ensure it is communicative and easily understood. The implementation of guidance has applied da'wah management functions, including planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation, thereby contributing to improving the spiritual and social readiness of prospective couples. The da'wah management perspective reveals how theological messages are designed and conveyed effectively to address psychological and sociological aspects of society. The novelty of this study lies in the synthesis of normative values and the managerial functions of KUA as a structured da'wah institution, with religious language acting as a persuasive medium. These findings are expected to offer an innovative model for marriage guidance based on religious rhetoric and local wisdom

Abstract

The formation of religious character is an important aspect of education to equip students to have good morals amidst the challenges of moral degradation. Education does not only focus on mastering knowledge, but also on internalizing religious values in students' daily lives. This research aims to analyze the formation of students' religious character through religious activities at MTs Hidayatul Ummah and MTs Mambaus Sholihin 5 Balongpanggang. This research uses a qualitative approach with a multisite case study type. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation involving school principals, teachers and students. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and its validity was tested through triangulation and diligent observation. The results of the research show that the formation of religious character is carried out through teacher example, habituation to religious activities, and instilling discipline. Activities such as congregational prayers, murojaah, and moral training are the main means of internalizing religious values, and are supported by cooperation between schools and parents. The impact can be seen in the formation of honest attitudes, discipline, humility, tolerance and a firm personality in students.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the da’wah paradigm of Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah as an epistemological foundation for the renewal of harakah (movement-based) da’wah thought in the contemporary era. The background of this research lies in the epistemological crisis within da’wah movements, which often become trapped in textual normativism or apologetic reactionism, as well as the limited systematic studies on Ibn al-Qayyim’s contribution to an integrative da’wah paradigm. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, referring to his major works such as I‘lām al-Muwaqqi‘īn, Madārij al-Sālikīn, and al-Dā’ wa al-Dawā’, along with reputable academic literature, analyzed using qualitative content analysis with a critical hermeneutic approach. The findings indicate that Ibn al-Qayyim’s da’wah paradigm is integrative and holistic, encompassing spiritual (tazkiyah al-nafs), rational-ijtihadi (fiqh al-wāqi‘ and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah), and socio-contextual dimensions. Its reconstruction includes strengthening da’wah bil ḥāl, applying dynamic fiqh al-awlawiyyāt, and developing a non-violent yet critical movement theory, making it relevant for digital and plural societies

Abstract

The revitalization of the Sunnah has become a crucial issue in contemporary da’wah and hadith studies in Indonesia, particularly amid the widespread dissemination of fabricated (maudhu‘) hadiths through digital media that threaten religious authority and Muslim religious practices. This study examines the thought and da’wah of KH. Ali Mustafa Ya‘qub (1952–2016), a prominent Indonesian hadith scholar, in his effort to revitalize the Sunnah as a contextual yet authentic guide for life. Using a qualitative method with a literature study approach and content analysis of his major works, this research aims to address three questions: the concept of Sunnah revitalization according to Ya‘qub, the hadith criticism methodology he employed, and the relevance of his ideas to the challenges of da’wah in the digital era. The findings show that Ya‘qub constructed Sunnah revitalization upon four pillars of hadith scholarship (muṣṭalaḥ, takhrij, fiqh al-ḥadīth, and difā‘ ‘an al-ḥadīth) while integrating both sanad and matn criticism in a balanced manner. Its implementation appears in preaching, education, and digital engagement, making it relevant today

Abstract

This research examines the concept of social justice in the Qur'an as a main pillar in building a harmonious, balanced, and civilized life. The method used is library research with a maudhu'i (thematic) interpretation approach. This study collects and analyzes verses related to al-'adl along with its derivations and equivalents to obtain a comprehensive and contextual understanding. The results show that justice in the Qur'an is not only normative as a moral value but also operational, which must be realized in various dimensions of life, including legal, social, economic, political, and moral aspects. Justice is defined as placing something proportionally, granting rights to those who are entitled, and maintaining balance without discrimination, thus reflecting substantive justice, not mere formality. In the contemporary context, this concept is relevant as a solution to various problems such as economic inequality, discrimination, and moral crisis. Thus, social justice in the Qur'an is an integral and transformational value system that acts as a driving force for change toward a just, peaceful, and sustainable society

Abstract

The integration between pharmaceutical sciences and sharia values has become increasingly urgent amidst the rapid development of the global pharmaceutical industry and the growing awareness of Muslim communities regarding the halal status of health products. This study aims to construct a holistic integration model that unifies epistemological aspects, production operational standards, pharmaceutical care services, and regulatory policies. The method employed is library research using content analysis and synthesis approaches on Islamic literature, jurisprudence, maqasid al-shariah, as well as pharmaceutical scientific literature and halal regulations. The results indicate that integration encompasses three main domains: production operational standards (critical points on gelatin, alcohol, enzymes, and cross-contamination), spiritually responsive pharmaceutical care (screening, counseling, therapy modification, referral, and spiritual accompaniment), and cross-institutional regulatory harmonization. The novelty of this research lies in its simultaneous and applicable integrative model, differing from previous partial studies. The conclusion recommends phased solutions ranging from pharmacist training, curriculum reinforcement, industrial incentives, to halal pharmacist professional certification. Further empirical research is essential to test the proposed model
