Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of the coach’s interpersonal communication in shaping motivation and enhancing the performance of Lokapala Esports athletes in North Sumatra Province. A qualitative approach was employed using in-depth interviews and observations involving the coach and six athletes from diverse ethnic backgrounds, namely Batak, Tamil, Chinese, Malay, and Javanese. The findings indicate that the coach's intensive interpersonal communication—both technical and motivational—significantly impacts the team’s enthusiasm and coordination. Interactions grounded in empathy, emotional closeness, and openness help create a conducive training environment. This study also highlights how cultural diversity within the team does not pose a barrier but instead becomes a strength through the coach’s inclusive and relationship-oriented communication strategies.

Abstract

Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) is a type of thyroid cancer originating from C cells, while Poorly Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma (PDTC) is a more aggressive form with poor differentiation. The transformation between these two types can affect prognosis and treatment strategies. This study analyzes an 18-year-old female patient presenting with neck swelling and difficulty swallowing. The initial diagnosis of MTC was established through fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), and after surgical resection, histopathological analysis was conducted to evaluate any transformation to PDTC. Histopathological findings revealed MTC areas with high calcitonin-producing C cells. However, there were also areas exhibiting characteristics of PDTC, including increased mitotic activity, necrosis, and loss of calcitonin expression. This transformation indicates a shift from a more indolent cancer form to a more aggressive one. The transformation from MTC to PDTC in a young patient illustrates the value of careful monitoring and thorough histopathological evaluation. Appropriate management and understanding of these changes are crucial for improving treatment outcomes. Further studies are needed to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying this transformation.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the pivotal role of pastoral management competencies and mission strategies in enhancing the quality of ministry as a means of fostering church growth. The research employs a qualitative method, utilizing library research to obtain the required data and information. The findings indicate that the application of fundamental management principles within the church namely planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling positively contributes to the improvement of pastoral ministry quality, positioning the pastor as a spiritual leader whose role is crucial to the effectiveness of church services. Furthermore, effective pastoral management encourages active participation among congregational members in fulfilling the church’s calling of fellowship, witness, and service, thereby advancing church growth in terms of quality, quantity, and organic.

Abstract

In the UI Greenmetric assessment, transportation is one of the six categories that are required for a green campus, and one of the indicators is the pedestrian path on campus (TR8). In the transportation category, Medan State Polytechnic obtained a score of 725 or 40.3% of the total maximum value of the transportation category. The nonoptimal score obtained is due to the pedestrian path on campus indicator (TR8) obtaining one point with the availability of pedestrian. The addition of scores is made by pedestrian paths connected to all buildings designed for safety and convenience and in some parts provided with disabled-friendly features. It’s very important to have a pedestrian arrangement, to make Medan State Polytechnic become an environmentally friendly campus, which is the purpose of this research. The arrangement is making a pedestrian path layout that connects to the entire area of the Medan State Polytechnic Building and calculating the minimum width requirements of the pedestrian path, then making a pedestrian path layout. Pedestrian flow surveys were conducted on 5 pedestrians and 2 hallways that were considered representative of the pedestrian paths that available at Medan State Polytechnic. The results of calculations and adjusted by the provisions of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing 2023 on Pedestrian Technical Planning, the pedestrian path width requirement is 185 cm.
