Abstract

Duck meat has a lower physical quality because the texture of the meat is tough and smells fishy, a method that can improve the quality of duck meat is needed. One of the meat preservation methods is marination using natural ingredients such as bay leaves. This study aims to determine the effect and best concentration of bay leaf extract (Syzygium polyanthum) on water binding capacity, cooking shrinkage, tenderness and organoleptic of duck meat. This study used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments of extract concentration (P0=0%, P1=5%, P2=10%, P3=15% and P4=20%) and 4 replications. If the treatment is significantly different, it is continued with the Duncan multiple range test. Organoleptic parameters, using Kruskal-Wallis non-parametric statistical test with Mann-Whitney further test. The results showed that marination using bay leaf extract had a significant effect on tenderness and organoleptic values, but had no significant effect on water binding capacity and cooking shrinkage. The use of bay leaf extract with 10% concentration produced the best marination with DIA 46.33%, cooking shrinkage 36.67%, tenderness 2.34kgf and organoleptic color 3.75 (like), aroma 4.00 (like), flavor 3.80 (like) and total acceptance 4.15 (suka).

Abstract

This article discusses metaphors contained in a song as an expression of the songwriter's emotions about something that happened in their real life. BTS's single “Black Swan” contains metaphorical elements in its lyrics. The author will explain the use of metaphors in one of BTS's popular singles, “Black Swan.” In this study, the author employs a qualitative descriptive research method. According to Nasution, qualitative research is a research procedure that generates descriptive data from observed individuals and behaviors. This study aims to collect as much descriptive data as possible to be organized in a report and analysis. According to the analysis conducted, only three types of metaphors were found: ontologycal, structural, and orientational. Now we will discuss each type of metaphor in the BTS song “Black Swan” in detail: These three types of metaphors not only enrich the language and poetic nuances of the song but also help listeners understand the inner conflict and identity transformation experienced by the narrator. This analysis demonstrates that the lyrics of “Black Swan” are not merely an entertainment product but an artistic expression rich in philosophical and psychological meaning, making it worthy of study in the fields of literature and linguistics.

Abstract

The instrument used is a cognitive development assessment scale developed based on the PAUD Curriculum, covering aspects of recognizing natural objects, grouping them, and mentioning their benefits. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that 80% of children were in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category, while 20% of children were still in the Still Developing (MB) category. This study emphasizes the importance of assessment to identify children's abilities and needs and as a basis for designing appropriate learning that is in accordance with the cognitive development of early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of guidance and counseling (BK) services in implementing the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 2 Lengayang. BK services consist of four main aspects, namely basic services, responsive services, individual planning services, and system support services. The evaluation was conducted to measure the extent to which these services have been implemented in accordance with the needs of students and the direction of the Independent Curriculum policy which emphasizes the development of Pancasila student profiles. The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires and interviews with BK teachers and students. The results of the study showed that overall, the effectiveness of BK services was in the fairly good category, although there were still several challenges in its implementation, such as limited service time, lack of coordination with homeroom teachers and parents, and low understanding of some teachers about the role of BK in supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. These findings indicate the need to increase the capacity of BK teachers, better cross-sector collaboration, and managerial support from the school so that BK services can function optimally and in line with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

This study examines mathematics education students' perceptions of the impact of parental involvement on their mental health. This study uses a quantitative approach through data collection by distributing an online questionnaire divided into three categories of questions, namely cognitive aspects, affective aspects, and psychomotor aspects, to 32 respondents. From the average obtained, the results stated agreement with the statements in the questionnaire, reaching 75% choosing Strongly Agree and Agree. Here, it shows that, in general, mathematics education students have a positive tendency in terms of responding to parental involvement. It is proven that many of them experience high academic pressure due to parental expectations. The form of impact that arises due to this pressure is anxiety, fear of failure, emotional stress, and open communication between parents and students to reduce academic stress and maintain mental well-being. This study shows a need for balanced parental involvement, which supports children without feeling burdened.
