Jurnal Pengabdian oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Jambi yang menerbitkan hasil pengabdian dibidang pendidikan, sosial, dan humaniora. Fokus dan Cakupan jurnal ini terdiri dari Seluruh Spektrum Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang meliputi: Pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan teknologi dan seni menjadi produk yang secara langsung dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Penyebarluasan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan seni budaya menjadi produk yang perlu diketahui dan dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Usaha ini dapat dilakukan melalui berbagai cara seperti memberikan penyuluhan, menyediakan percontohan, memperagakan, dan menerbitkan media publikasi. Penempatan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi secara benar dan tepat sesuai dengan situasi masyarakat dan tuntutan pembangunan. Pemberian bantuan kepada masyarakat dalam mengidentifikasi masalah yang dihadapi serta mencari alternatif pemecahannya dengan mempergunakan pendekatan ilmiah. Pemberian jasa pelayanan profesional kepada masyarakat dalam berbagai bidang permasalahan yang memerlukan penanganan secara cermat dengan menggunakan keahlian dan keterampilan yang belum dimiliki oleh masyarakat yang bersangkutan.

Abstract

Literacy plays an important role in early childhood language development. The purpose of this service is to provide storytelling activity assistance to PAUD teachers to stimulate early childhood literacy skills. This service uses lecture, discussion-information and evaluation methods. The result of this service activity is that the storytelling ability of PAUD or kindergarten teachers who take part in the activity is getting better. It can be seen from the use of interactive media and the ability to imitate the character's voice in the story that is increasingly pariative. So that the literacy skills of students are increasing.

Abstract

This article results from Community Service activities, which discuss training in preparing business plans to create new entrepreneurs for economics education students at FKIP Jambi University. This study aims to provide training to students in making business plans correctly. It is hoped that training participants can prepare things that must be designed as new entrepreneurs so that they can anticipate as early as possible if undesirable things happen in their business journey. Activities are carried out in a participatory form using best practices for student entrepreneurship. The method for implementing this service adopts Deming's concept: Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA). After carrying out training by utilizing student potential, the results obtained were that students could create a draft blueprint from the effects of the activity in the form of students' understanding of preparing a media canvas business plan.

Abstract

The Siladang language is one of the endangered languages in Indonesia. Siladang ethnic lives in two villages namely Sipapaga and Aik Banir in Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province. The condition of Siladang speakers is endangered because all Siladang speakers are bilingual/multilingual and use Mandailing and Indonesia language dominantly in terms of language use for socializing and school. This program aimed to transfer knowledge about language documentation using TELAN, a technique of using ELAN software (Eudico Linguistics Annotator) to increase the human resources of the Siladang young generation hence they are directly involved in carrying out documentation of their own language as well as an effort to revitalize the Siladang language. FGD activities were carried out offline and online because the service program implementation team continues to accompany the documentation team in facing obstacles and problems in recording and using ELAN software. Through the provision of recording tools and the transfer of language documentation knowledge, there has been an increase in the ability of the documentation team consisting of Siladang high students to carry out language recording and annotation using ELAN software.

Abstract

This training aims to improve student skills in publishing articles in sinta accredited journals. The training activities were attended by students of the Chemistry Education Study Program, Jambi University, semester 6, totaling 26 people. Training activities were held in room L-102 FKIP Jambi University on May 9, 2023. The implementation of training activities consists of three stages of training activities, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. The preparation stage consists of problem analysis activities, determining training methods, and preparing training materials. The implementation stage included the delivery of training materials, demonstration of the use of the Sinta website, and discussion activities. Evaluation activities are carried out to determine the achievement of training activities that have been carried out. Based on the results of the evaluation of training activities to improve student skills in publishing articles to sinta accredited journals, there was an increase in competence in finding references to sinta accredited articles and publishing articles in sinta accredited journals. The achievement of the implementation of training activities obtained a score of 4.34 which was classified as a very good category.

Abstract

The Teaching Campus Program is one of the programs planned by the Ministry of Education to improve students' abilities and numeracy literacy skills for students who are still in the school environment. The Teaching Campus Program is a form of implementing Merdeka-Learning-Campus-Merdeka (MBKM) in the form of teaching activities, technology adaptation, and Administration by providing students with assistance in the learning process in school institutions. One of them is at Sarang Burung 212 Elementary School which is located in Pematang Bedaro Simpang Limo, District Jambi Luar Kota, Regency Muaro Jambi Provinsi Jambi The scope of campus teaching focuses on students' numeracy literacy skills, by compiling and planning programs based on findings of problems at school. The program is expected to be a solution for schools in the field of understanding literacy and numeracy for students, especially through indoor games. Indoor games are games that can be implemented at various levels of education. This program is expected to have a positive impact on teachers and students on children's learning interest and motivation, especially regarding numeracy literacy. In addition to having an impact on the school, this program provides opportunities for participants in the campus teaching program such as being able to develop, improve, experience directly activities that are closely related to the nuances of the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Saat ini, budaya literasi dalam karya sastra perlu digalakkan kembali (Nur, 2020). Beberapa program pemerintah di antaranya adalah program pelatihan literasi yang dikembangkan dan dilaksanakan di sekolah. Literasi tidak hanya tentang kemampuan membaca, tetapi juga dalam bentuk keterampilan berbahasa lainnya yaitu menulis. Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Currently, the culture of literacy in literary works needs to be reinvigorated (Nur, 2020). Some government programs include literacy training programs developed and implemented in schools. Literacy is not only about the ability to read, but also in the form of other language skills, namely writing. The Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology has launched literacy programs in schools to improve students' reading skills, especially at the secondary school level. Writing skills are important to develop. In addition to the idea of writing, information conveyed through writing can also reach distant places. Furthermore, writing is now very easy to publish even through various media. Students, especially junior high school students, can write well and develop their ideas if guided properly. The Jambi University Indonesian Literature Study Program Community Service Team organized a story writing training aimed at junior high school students who are teenage age groups. It is hoped that the activities organized for students of SMP N 1 Muaro Jambi can provide motivation and help them develop writing literacy.

Abstract

Groundnut is one of the commodities from Teluk Village, Pemayung Sub-district. The peanut variety in Teluk Village is the large type of garuda with 3-4 seeds, so it has great potential to be developed and marketed outside the village. However, the sale of peanuts is only in its raw form, without further processing. Through the PPK Ormawa Tymac activity, higher education institutions play a role in transferring knowledge, in terms of diversifying peanut-based products. The products processed in this activity include peanut milk and peanut butter. The PPK Ormawa Tymac team also facilitates the making of NIB, registration of IPR, helps find partners and creates an e-commerce platform (shopee) to market products. To be able to achieve the objectives, the implementation method is used with the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, which is an approach that prioritizes the results of the formulation according to the needs in organizing PPK Ormawa Tymac activities.

Abstract

Many factors contribute to student learning boredom, but specifically the learning boredom experienced is related to time management, interaction with lecturers, adjustment to the campus environment, and lack of support. These are the things that most often and often trigger students to experience learning boredom. There are several methods to prevent and overcome learning boredom, one of which is by implementing good communication patterns for lecturers towards their students. Communication must be two-way, meaning that communication must be built with a response from the communicants, in this case between the lecturer and the students. . The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach. Communication patterns are closely related to the process of a lecturer's approach to students, of course each lecturer has a certain strategy in communicating. Several things that a lecturer can do to overcome students who experience learning boredom include improving teaching communication patterns. Lecturers need to package learning communication patterns to make them more interesting and enjoyable. To create creative, responsive and fun learning, of course it must be supported by students, parents and the community.

Abstract

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) is a learning approach that can train students to be able to communicate, collaborate, think critically, and solve problems, as well as creativity and innovation so that they are able to face global challenges. The purpose of this community service activity is to train physics teachers of SMAN 8 Tanjung Jabung Timur to use the STEAM-2C model in the learning process. The output produced in this activity is the Student Worksheet based on the STEAM-2C model. The methods used in this activity began with lecture, discussion, question and answer, and assignment methods. After this activity, it is hoped that teachers can integrate the STEAM-2C model in various forms of teaching materials and be able to implement it in learning activities.

Abstract

The problem of partner SMEs frozen, in the home industry Rungkut, Surabaya, East Java, is that there are no structured consignment sales reports that are in accordance with accounting standards. In order to help solve the problem, the planned activity that will be carried out is to provide assistance to the partners of the SMEs frozen, in the home industry Rungkut, by increasing consignment sales report preparation capabilities. The implementation of this community service program uses the method of mentoring, discussion, and feedback to partners. The final result to be achieved in this community service activity is the existence of the ability of SMEs to prepare and apply a system-based consignment sales report using Microsoft word. Based on the activities we have carried out both offline and online, it could be concluded that the partners have periodically applied consignment sales report both manually and systemically. Other output from this activity is publications in the National Journal.
