Penempatan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi secara benar dan tepat sesuai dengan situasi masyarakat dan tuntutan pembangunan. Pemberian bantuan kepada masyarakat dalam mengidentifikasi masalah yang dihadapi serta mencari alternatif pemecahannya dengan mempergunakan pendekatan ilmiah. Pemberian jasa pelayanan profesional kepada masyarakat dalam berbagai bidang permasalahan yang memerlukan penanganan secara cermat dengan menggunakan keahlian dan keterampilan yang belum dimiliki oleh masyarakat yang bersangkutan.

Abstract

Training in preparing student thesis proposals is a very strategic activity to improve students' abilities in designing relevant and quality research and of course has many positive benefits for students. The method used in this service activity is to deliver material directly and provide assistance to Jambi University History Education Study Program students in designing a quality thesis proposal. The results of this training have been said to be successful because the participants were able to prepare research proposals well and in accordance with the thesis writing guidelines at Jambi University. With an average score of 82 in the A category.

Abstract

This service is motivated by the independent curriculum policy which has a program to improve literacy and numeracy of students. Strengthening literacy and numeracy for students at SDN 022 Kota Jambi requires the involvement of various stakeholders such as school supervisors, principals teachers, and teaching staff at school. The purpose of the literacy and numeracy service at SDN 022 Jambi City is first, to hone and strengthen the knowledge and numeracy skills of students in interpreting numbers, data, tables, graphs and diagrams. Second, to apply literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills to solve problems and make decisions in everyday life based on logical considerations. Third, forming and strengthening resources (SDA) to be able to compete and collaborate with other nations for the prosperity and welfare of the nation and state. The literacy and numeracy program is carried out in the form of making reading corners, literacy trees, numeracy ice, making fraction pizzas and socializing the 3 big sins of education.

Abstract

Type abstract in English here. In 2021, the government will replace the National Examination with the National Assessment (AN). National Assessment is a form of evaluation of the education system at the primary and secondary education levels. The assessment aims to measure cognitive, non-cognitive learning outcomes and the quality of the learning environment. Cognitive learning outcomes include reading literacy and numeracy. Cognitive learning outcomes are measured through the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). Based on the results of Public Education Report Card data, especially in the Jambi Province area, the data shows that learning outcomes are not yet optimal. Literacy and numeracy skills are still below minimum competency. This means that less than 50% of students have achieved minimum competency. Creativity is needed in learning to create a conducive learning atmosphere. By increasing the literacy competency and quality of learning of Muaro Jambi district elementary school teachers through reading informational texts and literary texts using a design thinking approach, it is hoped that they will provide understanding, strengthening and actualization with measurable control in order to achieve quality education. The implementation of this community service activity uses three methods, namely the lecture method, practice discussion and demonstration method. Data analysis is carried out by drawing conclusions through categorization, synthesis, interpretation and evaluation Whika produces descriptive meaning. The result of this activity is that elementary school teachers are able to compose informational text questions and simple literary texts that can be implemented in class.

Abstract

: In the digital era, the existence of a website for a university study program is important. With a website that can be accessed anywhere and at any time, the public can find out information and everything related to the study program. The Jambi University Indonesian Literature Study Program website has been designed by the team with the page https://sastraindonesia.unja.ac.id. However, the website is not managed well so the information presented has not been updated. Apart from that, the layout of the site is also irregular, thereby reducing public interest in accessing the website. In fact, through the study program website you can disseminate information such as profiles, vision and mission, organizational structure, scholarships, student achievements, questionnaires, and news content and other information. Therefore, it is necessary to manage the Indonesian Literature Study Program website at Jambi University as a medium of information for the public. This website management activity begins with the stages of analyzing website needs, collecting website data, designing and filling content, and socializing the website to the public. The result of this service activity is website governance Jambi University's Indonesian Literature Study Program is getting better. This can be seen from the more organized appearance of the website, the latest information that is continuously updated, and the positive response from website users.

Abstract

Jati Mulyo Village, located in Dendang Sub-district, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, is mostly occupied by farmers.  There is a PT. Argo Tumbuh Gemilang which is available for waste only TKKS. Waste empty palm bunches (TKKS) can be used as a basic material for making mushroom growth media. The purpose of implementing community education activities regarding the utilization of palm oil waste into oyster mushroom growing media is to reduce TKKS waste in Jati Mulyo Village and improve the quality of community knowledge as an effort to reduce palm oil waste into useful products. The implementation method used is Forum Group Discussion (FGD). The results obtained can be stated that the community has an increased understanding after participating in educational activities. Community education on the utilization of palm oil bunch waste is not only important to reduce its negative impact on the environment, but can also create new opportunities for economic growth and sustainable development.  This project has increased the community's awareness of the benefits of palm bunch waste as a medium for oyster mushroom cultivation

Abstract

The aim of this activity is to socialize learning techniques to improve the quality of learning of MTSS Al Fattah students in Sarolangun district. This activity is carried out to increase students' comprehension ability in understanding the lesson material. Therefore, we need a fairly effective technique that can be easily applied. The Feynman technique is a learning technique that is quite effective in overcoming this problem. The implementation of this service activity is carried out in two stages, namely the planning stage and the implementation stage. At the planning stage, the material that needs to be used as a learning object is determined. At the implementation stage, the lecture and question and answer method was applied. The lecture method is used to introduce the Feynman technique and how to apply it, and the question and answer method is used to determine the extent to which students understand the presentation and application of the Feynman technique in the learning process. The results of the assessment rubric showed that the majority of students can easily understand the lesson material after using the Feynman technique. It is known from the researchers' assessment that almost 72% of MTSS Al Fattah students can deliver material in front of the class very well. Apart from that, this service activity also received a positive response from the majority of MTSS Al Fattah students.

Abstract

Abstrak: The problem that occurs among students in the history education study program is that the level of student entrepreneurial creativity is still low, and the minimal output of students who take part in the student entrepreneurship program (PMW). This is because the learning process, especially those that support entrepreneurship values, is still limited to theory and minimal practice. This service activity aims to increase the entrepreneurial creativity of history education students through assistance in preparing business plans. This is in line with the vision of the history education study program, namely to become an entrepreneur based on historical skills. This service activity was carried out in two sessions, the first session was the delivery of material by the resource person and the division into groups guided by the moderator. Next, the second session was the practice of preparing business plans and presentations for each group which were monitored by the team. The result is that there are several draft business plans and product prototypes from each group that have been shared

Abstract

This Community Service activity was carried out to provide training on techniques and how to memorize hadiths accurately and correctly to Pelita Hati Foundation students. Accompanying activities in learning to memorize hadiths focus more on how to memorize hadiths easily accompanied by the application of appropriate methods. Providing material by resource persons regarding learning to memorize hadiths will make it easier for students to memorize hadiths. The target of community service participants as planned was at least 5 – 10 participants, with 10 participants having an understanding of hadith. Based on the results and discussion of community service activities that have been explained previously, it can be concluded that the implementation of service activities at Pelita Hati, South Jakarta which was held in September 2023 – January 2024 in the hadith memorization learning activities has been carried out in the good category

Abstract

The important need for the development of technology in education requires teachers to be able to use technology proficiently so as to provide effective and innovative learning to students in the classroom. the implementation of observations and interviews conducted by the service team found that not all teachers of SMAN 1 Dewantara used information technology in the learning process. Some teachers have implemented IT-based learning in the classroom but are not maximized in their delivery in class. Based on these problems, the service team conducted IT-based learning application training for teachers of SMAN 1 Dewantara. The training aims to increase teachers' knowledge in the field of technology and can be a reference for teachers in applying active, creative and innovative and fun learning methods in the classroom. The training method is done by inquiry or direct practice. The result of this service activity is that teachers are able to use IT-based learning and can apply it in the teaching and learning process in class. The activities carried out received positive results from the school and hoped that activities like this could be carried out again at a later time.

Abstract

: A quality education can provide space for students to acquire relevant knowledge, useful skills, and character building needed to face challenges and competition in the future. Based on monitoring and interviews with teachers at SMAN 1 Dewantara, the mathematics learning process at the school has not maximized the use of learning applications during the learning process. In response to these problems, in this service activity, training on mathematics learning applications was carried out for teachers of SMAN 1 Dewantara with the aim of improving teacher skills and becoming a reference for teachers in maximizing student potential in using IT-based mathematics learning media. The training method is carried out with inquiry or direct practice so as to support the teacher's direct experience during the learning process.  The result of this service activity is that teachers are able to use math learning applications so that later it is hoped that this application can be used in the learning process.
