Abstract

This study examines how Indonesia’s Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, employs persuasive pragmatic strategies when conveying education policies related to addressing learning loss after the Covid-19 pandemic. Through discourse analysis of his statements in press conferences and seminars on the implementation of deep learning, this research traces the forms of speech acts such as directives, representatives, and implicatures used to build support and influence how the public understands the policy. The findings show that Abdul Mu’ti underscores the seriousness of the learning-loss problem by referring to concrete data, including the decline in students’ cognitive abilities and the results of the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Presenting these data serves to strengthen his arguments and enhance their persuasive force. In addition, his critique of surface-level learning practices generates an implicature that a shift in instructional approaches is an urgent necessity. His emphasis on the central role of teachers and assurances that the existing curriculum will not be replaced also function as strategies to reduce potential public resistance. This study demonstrates that Abdul Mu’ti’s use of language in policy communication plays a crucial role in framing deep learning as a solution for restoring the quality of national education.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant changes to the accounting field, particularly in improving the efficiency, accuracy, and innovation of financial services. The application of AI enables the automation of routine tasks, supports in-depth data analysis, and strengthens strategic decision-making processes. However, the integration of this technology also raises ethical challenges such as data privacy issues, algorithm transparency, and the risk of bias and job losses. This study uses a literature review approach to examine the impact of AI on the accounting profession, including the opportunities and challenges faced. The results indicate that the successful implementation of AI requires enhanced professional competency, the development of ethical and regulatory standards, and cross-stakeholder collaboration to ensure the responsible use of technology. With the right approach, AI can strengthen the position of accountants as strategic partners and drive sustainable growth in the business world.

Abstract

Early childhood education represents a fundamental stage in shaping children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and language development. Then, this study aims to identify and analyze the challenges experienced by early childhood teachers in the learning process, particularly in foreign language instruction, as well as the strategies used to address these challenges. A qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews with five early childhood teachers from five different schools in Makassar. The data were analyzed through a process of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to gain their experiences, perceptions, and strategies in early childhood education. The findings reveal five major challenges in teaching practice: (1) difficulties in maintaining children’s focus and attention; (2) diverse abilities and characteristics among children; (3) the presence of children with special needs and the challenges related to supporting them; (4) difficulties in establishing emotional closeness; and (5) variations in children’s moods and learning readiness. Teachers addressed these challenges by implementing engaging activities, adapting learning materials, providing additional time for children with special needs, fostering warm interactions, and allowing children to calm themselves before rejoining learning activities. These findings are expected to offer important implications for the development of early childhood teacher training programs, particularly those focusing on behavior management, emotional support, and differentiated instruction.

Abstract

This study identifies a problem related to the lack of variation in the implementation of learning models, which has an impact on students’ learning achievement. Many students experience difficulties in understanding the lessons because teachers tend to focus on content delivery without considering students’ individual characteristics. In fact, the classroom consists of diverse student learning style preferences, including auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning styles. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS subject, particularly on the topic of Cultural Diversity, among fourth-grade students at SDN 02 Tiumang. Through the implementation of the Project Based Learning model, a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes is expected. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 14 fourth-grade students at SDN 02 Tiumang. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The learning model applied was Project Based Learning. The test was administered twice to determine the improvement in students’ learning outcomes before and after the treatment. Prior to classroom implementation, the test items were piloted. The instrument trial was conducted with fifth-grade students at SDN 02 Tiumang using 30 multiple-choice items, which were subsequently analyzed through validity and reliability tests. The results of the validity test showed that 25 items were valid, while 5 items were invalid. The reliability test yielded a coefficient of 0.899, indicating high reliability. Data analysis techniques included a normality test using the Shapiro–Wilk formula and hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test. The pretest results showed an average score of 53.71, while the posttest average score increased to 83.71, indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes. The paired sample t-test analysis resulted in a calculated t-value (tₕᵢₜᵤₙg) of 11.208, while the t-table value with degrees of freedom (n–1) = 13 at a 5% significance level was 0.514. Thus, tₕᵢₜᵤₙg > tₜₐᵦₗₑ (11.208 > 0.514), indicating that Ha is accepted and H₀ is rejected.

Abstract

This article discusses research paradigms and epistemology in the context of scientific development, particularly from the perspective of Islamic scholarship. Knowledge evolves through various paradigms that shape researchers’ views of reality, research objects, methods, and purposes. The three main paradigms commonly used are positivistic, interpretive, and critical. In addition, within the Islamic intellectual tradition, the concept of the Islamization of knowledge emerges as an effort to integrate revelation, reason, and empirical reality. The method used in this study is library research with a descriptive-critical analysis approach. The findings indicate that each paradigm possesses distinct characteristics, orientations, and objectives, yet they complement one another. The paradigm of the Islamization of knowledge serves as an integrative framework that offers ethical, spiritual, and beneficial dimensions to contemporary scientific research.

Abstract

The mangrove forest growing along the coast of Sungai Pinang functions as a natural barrier against abrasion, a habitat for various marine biota, and a provider of essential nutrients within the coastal ecosystem chain. However, current conditions indicate that the existence of mangroves in this area continues to be threatened by human activities and the suboptimal management and utilization of the area in a sustainable manner. The main problem faced by the partner community is the lack of optimal community empowerment, particularly among fishermen’s wives, in managing and utilizing mangrove plants as an alternative economic resource. Previous conservation and educational activities were temporary and unsustainable due to limited assistance from official institutions and weak access to training, capital, and production materials. This has hindered the development of creative economic activities based on mangrove potential, such as handicrafts, batik production, and processed coastal food products. The implementation method is designed systematically and participatively so that the proposed solutions can be effectively adopted by the target partners through training and outreach. The primary goal of this program is to empower fishermen’s wives in Nagari Sungai Pinang through mangrove-based batik crafts as an economic resource, in order to realize the concept of a Green Economy in coastal areas that emphasizes environmental conservation, improved welfare, and sustainable development. The results of this program include the establishment of a creative group of fishermen’s wives producing mangrove batik, which serves as a medium for promoting coastal environmental conservation and positioning mangrove batik as a maritime tourism icon in Nagari Sungai Pinang.
