Abstract

This study discusses the use of gamification as a learning strategy to enhance the learning motivation of Generation Z in the midst of the dominance of digital learning environments. The changing characteristics of students, who grow up as digital natives, demand a more interactive and responsive learning approach compared to traditional methods. The aim of this research is to descriptively analyze how Generation Z perceives the elements of gamification and their relationship with learning motivation. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach and conducts a survey. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire distributed to 26 Generation Z respondents aged 18–22 years, consisting of university students and individuals who have entered the workforce. The research instrument assesses the respondents' views on gamification elements such as feedback, challenges, progress clarity, and reward systems in the context of learning motivation. The results show that Generation Z tends to prefer learning that is interactive and dynamic. Gamification elements such as quick feedback, relevant challenges, and clarity in learning progress are perceived to contribute more to improving concentration, engagement, and understanding of the material compared to symbolic rewards such as points or leaderboards. These findings suggest that the contribution of gamification lies not only in the gaming aspect but also in its ability to create a structured, relevant, and meaningful learning experience. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educators and learning developers in designing gamification strategies that align with the characteristics and learning motivation of Generation Z.

Abstract

Sharia economic development aims to achieve comprehensive societal welfare by emphasizing the principles of justice, balance, and welfare. However, in practice, economic development still faces various problems such as poverty and unequal income distribution. Zakat and waqf, as Islamic social financial instruments, have great potential to support sharia economic development, but their role has not been optimally utilized. This article aims to theoretically examine the role of zakat and waqf in sharia economic development. The method used in writing this article is a literature study, examining various concepts, theories, and expert views related to zakat, waqf, and sharia economic development. The results of the study indicate that zakat plays an effective role in income redistribution in reducing poverty and social inequality, while waqf plays a role in supporting long-term economic development through the provision of public facilities and improving the quality of human resources. Thus, optimizing the synergistic role of zakat and waqf can be a strategic solution in realizing equitable and sustainable sharia economic development.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education and moral education play a strategic role as key pillars in shaping the character of elementary school students to face increasingly complex contemporary challenges. Both function not merely as a transmission of normative knowledge, but also as essential instruments for instilling fundamental values such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy in everyday life. Through a literature-based study reviewing various academic journals and scholarly references, this study finds that the integration of religious and moral education within the formal education system constitutes a crucial foundation for students’ character development. The analysis indicates that strengthening these two aspects in an integrated manner has a significant impact, particularly on improving students’ moral conduct, discipline, and awareness of social responsibility. Therefore, strong synergy is required among educational institutions, the role of teachers as role models, and the family environment as the primary foundation to ensure that moral and spiritual values are optimally internalized in the educational process. Thus, this article emphasizes that Islamic religious and moral education in elementary schools plays an important role in shaping a young generation that is religious, possesses noble character, and is ready to become a pillar of the nation by contributing positively to society and the wider world.

Abstract

Teacher work stress in Islamic educational institutions has a significant impact on the quality of learning and educator professionalism, as it is influenced by pedagogical demands, administrative burdens, and religious values perceived as a moral responsibility. This study aims to analyze the management of teacher work stress through the perspective of the Transactional Theory of Stress proposed by Lazarus and Folkman, as well as its relevance within the context of Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review, the population comprised relevant literature up to 2025 addressing teacher work stress in Indonesia, with a purposive sample of 20–30 Sinta- and Scopus-indexed articles published between 2021 and 2025. The research instrument consisted of documentary sources, which were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model (data reduction, data display, and data verification). The findings indicate that teacher work stress emerges from the interaction between primary and secondary appraisal processes that shape coping strategies, which are further enriched by spiritual dimensions such as patience (ṣabr) and trust in God (tawakkul) within the Islamic context. The Transactional Theory is shown to be a holistic framework capable of accommodating psychological, organizational, and religious dimensions of teacher work stress management.
