Abstract

Qualitative research has methodological and epistemological characteristics that fundamentally distinguish it from quantitative approaches, particularly in understanding complex, dynamic, and meaningful social realities. This article aims to comprehensively analyze the paradigm and philosophical foundations underlying qualitative research, with an emphasis on its ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. The research employs a literature review method by examining various scientific sources, including research methodology textbooks, national and international journals, and works related to the philosophy of science. The analysis technique used is content analysis to identify and synthesize key concepts related to the qualitative research paradigm. The results show that qualitative research is rooted in interpretive and constructivist paradigms, which view reality as plural, subjective, and constructed through social interactions and human experiences. From an epistemological perspective, knowledge is understood as the result of an interactive relationship between the researcher and the research subject, positioning the researcher as the primary instrument in the research process. Meanwhile, from an axiological perspective, qualitative research acknowledges the role of values, ethics, and the reflexivity of the researcher throughout the research process. This study is expected to strengthen the conceptual and philosophical understanding of researchers in designing and conducting qualitative research in a scientific, reflective, and responsible manner.

Abstract

Vocational education in Indonesia faces fundamental challenges in bridging the competency gap between Vocational High School (SMK) graduates and industry standards. The Teaching Factory (TEFA) learning model has been identified as a strategic solution; yet its implementation often encounters obstacles due to suboptimal managerial and leadership factors. This study aims to systematically analyze the role of school principals' transformational leadership in strengthening the TEFA ecosystem and its impact on improving SMK graduate quality. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on PRISMA framework, this study examined 21 selected articles from SINTA-accredited journals (SINTA 2, 3, and 4) published between 2020–2025. The analysis reveals five key findings: (1) Transformational leadership functions as a catalyst in transforming school culture from purely academic to industrial culture; (2) Four dimensions of transformational leadership have differential contributions to teacher innovation and TEFA ecosystem formation, with Inspirational Motivation showing the strongest empirical support (86%); (3) Strengthening the TEFA ecosystem requires professional management of production units with corporate-like management principles; (4) TEFA implementation supported by transformational leadership has significant positive correlation with increases in graduates' hard skills, soft skills, and employability; (5) Integration of transformational leadership with digital competence becomes a prerequisite in the context of Society 5.0 and Industry 4.0 Revolution. This study recommends strengthening SMK principals' managerial capacity through entrepreneurship-based leadership development programs and production unit management. Practical implications include recruitment and training policies for school principals that prioritize transformational leadership competence and business literacy.

Abstract

The Qur’an as the primary source of Islamic teachings not only provides guidance on worship and creed but also establishes fundamental principles governing social, political, and governmental life. One of the central themes emphasized in the Qur’an is leadership (imāmah), which is understood not merely as political authority but as a moral and spiritual mandate that entails accountability before both society and Allah. This study aims to analyze the concept of leaders and leadership in the Qur’an through a thematic interpretation approach. Employing qualitative library research, data were collected from classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries, scholarly books, and reputable journal articles relevant to Islamic leadership. The study focuses on key Qur’anic leadership terminologies such as khalīfah, imāmah, and ulū al-amr, as well as the ethical principles underlying leadership, including faith, justice, trustworthiness, deliberation (shūrā), and responsibility. The findings reveal that Qur’anic leadership is characterized by moral integrity, justice, and accountability, with obedience to leaders being conditional upon their adherence to divine values. The Qur’an positions leaders as role models tasked with safeguarding public welfare and upholding justice. This study concludes that revitalizing Qur’anic leadership principles is essential for addressing contemporary leadership crises and for building governance systems that are ethical, trustworthy, and oriented toward societal welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the extent to which decentralization can bring government services closer to the public through the authority granted to regions. This study uses a literature review method by reviewing various scientific articles discussing decentralization and local government practices. The analysis shows that authority at the regional level provides opportunities for services to be more accessible because decisions can be made more quickly, flexibly, and more appropriately to regional conditions. Its effectiveness is evident through various adjustments made by regional governments, ranging from improving governance, restructuring administrative procedures, to managing resources that support service delivery. However, this success is still influenced by the readiness of regions to manage their authority and their ability to directly understand community needs. Overall, decentralization provides a strong foundation for creating closer and more relevant services for citizens when regional governments are able to optimally utilize the spatial authority granted.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the use of digital technology-based learning media in teaching Indonesian language in elementary schools using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research methodology involves analyzing scholarly articles from both domestic and international sources published in the past 5–10 years and retrieved from indexed databases. The review process includes identification, selection, evaluation, and analysis of articles based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings show that digital technology-based learning media, such as interactive multimedia, educational videos, learning applications, and online learning platforms, have a positive impact on enhancing students' motivation, understanding of the material, and language skills in elementary schools. Additionally, the use of digital media can create more engaging, relevant, and student-centered learning experiences. However, several challenges exist, including limited facilities, low digital skills among teachers, and unequal access to technology. Therefore, policy support, continuous teacher training, and adequate infrastructure provision are necessary to maximize the use of digital technology-based learning media in Indonesian language education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Sexual violence in higher education environments, including vocational campuses, is a serious issue that requires comprehensive and sustainable handling. The Indonesian government established the Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (PPKPT) as an institutional effort to create a safe and dignified campus environment. However, in practice, PPKPT faces various challenges and obstacles that affect the effectiveness of its duties. This study aims to analyze the challenges and obstacles faced by PPKPT in addressing sexual violence in vocational campuses (a case study of vocational schools in Aceh) using a qualitative research method with in-depth interviews. The research informants include PPKPT members, university leaders, lecturers, and students. The results of the study show that the main challenges faced by PPKPT include limited human resources and budget, low awareness among the academic community, a strong patriarchal culture, victims' fear of reporting, as well as pressure and intimidation from the perpetrators of violence. Structural barriers, such as internal institutional bureaucracy, also serve as hindrances. This study recommends strengthening PPKPT's capacity, the commitment of campus leadership, and the development of a reporting system that is safe and victim-oriented.

Abstract

This community service aims to enhance the understanding and skills of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Waringin Jaya Village, Bojong Gede Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, regarding the importance of business legality through Halal Certification and PIRT (Traditional Food Production License). The lack of knowledge among MSME actors about procedures, regulations, and the benefits of certification has led to low product competitiveness and limited market access. The activity was carried out through socialization, technical training, and administrative assistance for certification applications in accordance with the provisions of BPJPH (Indonesian Halal Certification Agency) and BPOM (National Agency of Drug and Food Control). The implementation methods included preparation, site observation, coordination with related agencies, material socialization, technical training for registration, and activity evaluation. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the urgency of Halal certification and PIRT, as well as their ability to prepare the necessary documents. Through this activity, MSME actors are expected to meet product safety and halal standards, increase consumer trust, and expand local product marketing opportunities. In conclusion, this discussion asserts that Halal certification and PIRT licenses are mandatory for MSME actors selling various products and must be familiar with the regulations regarding Halal Certification and PIRT Licenses.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing tardiness and absenteeism of student YN in Grade XII C at Sint Carolus Catholic Senior High School, Penfui, Kupang, during the 2025/2026 academic year. The research employed a qualitative approach using a guidance and counseling case study method. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with the homeroom teacher, subject teachers, and the guidance and counseling teacher, as well as documentation analysis in the form of daily attendance records. Data analysis was conducted through problem identification, diagnosis, prognosis, therapeutic intervention, and the formulation of conclusions and follow-up actions. The findings indicate that the student’s tardiness and absenteeism were caused by a combination of internal and external factors. Internal factors included laziness, low learning motivation, poor time management skills, and a tendency to stay up late due to excessive gaming. External factors comprised negative peer influence, a lack of parental supervision and attention, and the relatively long distance between the student’s home and the school. The impact of these problems was reflected in decreased academic achievement, reduced concentration during learning activities, undisciplined behavior, and less harmonious relationships with teachers and classmates. Intervention was carried out through individual counseling services using a self-management technique, along with educational guidance on time management, self-control, and the selection of positive peer environments. The evaluation results showed initial improvements in the student’s self-awareness and sense of responsibility toward school tasks; however, further development requires continuous assistance and collaboration among the guidance counselor, homeroom teacher, and parents. This study emphasizes that students’ learning discipline is the result of an interaction between personal and environmental factors and therefore requires an integrated approach for effective resolution.
