Abstract

Snowball Throwing is a learning activity in which student use snowballs or ball-shaped paper as a tool or medium to build student knowledge by utilizing various learning resources. This study aims to determine the effect of using this learning model on learning outcomes using the Snowball Throwing learing model at SMPN 2 Sumobito. The method used in this study was an experimental method. The instrument used was multiple-choice questions to determine student learning outcomes. The subjects used in this study were grade VIII G students at SMPN 2 Sumobito. The results of this study indicate that the Snowball Throwing learning model has an effect on the learning of grade VIII students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMPN 2 Sumobito. This can be proven by the results of the hypotesis test using a t-test with a significance level of (0,019) < (0,05), thus rejecting H0. Therefore, the snowball throwing learing model has an impact on student learning outcomes. Therefore, this learning model can be used as an alternative learning model for teachers to maximeze student learning outcomes, particulary in Islamic Religious Education (PAI).

Abstract

This study examines the learning difficulties experienced by fifth-grade students in solving mathematics problems based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) at SD Negeri 20 Banyuasin III. The aim of the study is to analyze the types and factors of difficulties as well as the strategies to overcome them. The research uses a descriptive phenomenological qualitative approach, involving 16 students and supporting informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured observation guides, in-depth interview protocols, and documentation, and then analyzed interactively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, along with triangulation validation. The findings indicate that students face significant challenges in understanding concepts, planning solutions, implementing strategies, and evaluating answers, influenced by low motivation, intellectual limitations, lack of parental support, and media distractions. The study concludes that teacher interventions such as motivation enhancement, problem-solving practice, and collaboration with parents help but are not yet fully effective. Further research is recommended to expand the sample and explore innovative interventions.

Abstract

The findings indicate that the application of HOTS in Islamic Religious Education at SDN 156 Palembang is influenced by the level of preparedness of the school, teachers, students, and parents, as well as various challenges encountered during the learning process HOTS in PAI still encounters several obstacles. Teachers find it difficult to develop lesson plans and evaluation instruments that integrate HOTS principles, students require more time to adapt from memorization-based learning to analytical and evaluative tasks, and parents express varying levels of support, with some struggling to assist their children due to limited understanding of HOTS. Although the school provides adequate facilities, their use has not been maximized in supporting interactive and critical learning activities. The findings highlight that successful HOTS implementation requires comprehensive strategies, including continuous teacher training, optimization of available learning media, and stronger collaboration between schools and parents. This study concludes that HOTS implementation in PAI at SDN 156 Palembang is at an early stage, showing both challenges and opportunities. The study is limited to one school, thus broader generalizations should be approached cautiously. Further research across different school contexts is recommended to enrich understanding and strategies for effective HOTS integration in Islamic education.

Abstract

The background of this research is that, in essence, every parent will choose and compare schools, considering both the advantages and disadvantages of each school. The goal is to provide a good education for their child, selecting the best and highest quality school to prepare the child for the future. Public perception is derived from society's judgment of whatever they see, understand, and feel. Therefore, schools must be able to build trust within the community to create a positive perception of the school. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through the distribution of questionnaires to 35 respondents, measured using a Likert scale. The data analysis techniques employed are multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing, with data processing using SPSS 2.5, presented descriptively. Based on the data processing results, the multiple linear regression equation obtained is Y = 43.491 + 0.237X1 + 0.304X2. From this equation, it can be concluded that the constant value is 43.491, the regression coefficient for the School Strategy variable is 0.237, and the regression coefficient for the School Innovation variable is 0.304. Based on the F-test results, it is known that the F-table value is 3.29, and the F-calculated value is 7.384 with a significance level of 0.00. Since the F-calculated value (7.384) is greater than the F-table value (3.29) and the significance level (0.00) is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that the School Strategy variable (X1) and the School Innovation variable (X2) simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on parents' interest (Y). Therefore, the hypothesis that school strategy and school innovation affect parents' interest is supported. The coefficient of determination (r²) is 0.316, which indicates that the independent variables time management and learning motivation can influence the dependent variable (academic achievement of working students) by 31.6%, while the remaining 68.4% is influenced by other variables not included in the regression model.

Abstract

The background of this study is that the main goal of students is essentially to learn and develop their thinking patterns. To achieve this goal, students must engage in various learning activities to attain good academic performance and complete their learning process on time. However, many students face difficulties in time management, which leads to neglecting assignments and tasks. Given these issues, time management and learning motivation are key factors in student success during the learning process and in improving academic performance. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collection techniques through questionnaires distributed to 33 respondents using non-probability sampling, from a total population of 83 people. The data was measured using a Likert scale. The indicators used in this study are study time planning, goal setting, prioritization and scheduling, interest in learning, motivation, aspirations, and the desire to achieve better performance. The study also employs multiple linear regression analysis, classical assumption testing, and hypothesis testing with data processing using SPSS 21, presented descriptively. Based on the results of the comparison between time management, learning motivation, and academic performance of students at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Besar, the data analysis indicates that from the ANOVA test, if time management is improved by 1%, academic performance will increase by 25%, and if learning motivation is increased by 1%, academic performance will improve by 15%. This is reinforced by an R-squared value of 0.801. This indicates that there is a strong relationship between time management, learning motivation, and academic performance at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Besar, accounting for 80% of the variance, while 20% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the sustainable tourism concept at Dempo Anailand Resort in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and an inductive method, this research explores best practices, experiences, and challenges faced by the resort management in applying sustainability principles. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with the management, local community, and tourists, while secondary data were gathered from documentation and supporting reports. The findings show that Dempo Anailand Resort has implemented the four main pillars of sustainable tourism: (1) sustainable destination management, (2) local economic utilization, (3) cultural preservation, and (4) environmental protection. Practical implementation is reflected in the use of renewable energy through solar panels, water conservation programs, integrated waste management, local community empowerment through economic partnerships, as well as cultural preservation and environmental education activities for tourists. However, the study also identifies several challenges, such as high implementation costs, low tourist awareness, and the need for support from the government and relevant institutions. Overall, the application of the sustainable tourism concept at Dempo Anailand Resort has had a positive impact on the economic, social, and environmental aspects. Increased tourist satisfaction, local community involvement, and management efficiency indicate that sustainable tourism can be an effective strategy for developing eco-friendly tourist destinations while improving the welfare of the surrounding community.

Abstract

In the Indonesian criminal justice system, there are several stages in the mechanism for handling a criminal case. The first stage is the examination, also known as the investigation and inquiry conducted by the police, which is then transferred to the prosecutor's office for further investigation and finally to the process of transfer to the court and finally to trial. The purpose of this study is to determine the procedure for transferring criminal cases from investigators to public prosecutors in stage II according to the Criminal Procedure Code and the procedure for handing over and investigating suspects by investigators to prosecutors in a brief examination procedure. The method used is a qualitative method. The results of this study are about how the case examination procedure according to the Criminal Procedure Code and how the procedure for transferring cases in a brief examination procedure. First, the Case Examination Procedure according to the Criminal Procedure Code in Chapter XVI differentiates the case examination procedure in district court trials. Basically, the starting point for this difference in examination procedures is reviewed from the type of crime being tried on one side and from the ease or difficulty of proving the case in question on the other side, the Procedure for Transferring Cases in a Brief Examination Procedure. Regarding the brief examination procedure, in the Criminal Procedure Code (Law No. 8 of 1981), it is regulated in Articles 203 and 204. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the procedure for brief case examination is generally guided by the ordinary examination procedure. The Criminal Procedure Code does not provide limitations on which cases are included in the ordinary examination. In the examination of cases in the brief examination procedure, the public prosecutor does not make an indictment but the public prosecutor immediately after the defendant in court answers the questions then informs the defendant verbally from his notes about the crime charged to him by explaining the time, place and circumstances when the crime was committed.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of implementing the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in Basic Automotive Engineering (BAE) at SMKN 2 Serang City. The research is motivated by the low student achievement, lack of motivation, and minimal active participation in learning, which has been conducted using the conventional lecture method. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consists of two classes: the experimental class, which applies the Jigsaw model, and the control class, which uses a conventional learning approach. The instruments used were pre-test and post-test to measure cognitive learning outcomes. The analysis results show a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes, as evidenced by the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average post-test score of the experimental class was 85.30, while the control class had a score of 74.29. These findings indicate that the Jigsaw learning model significantly improves student learning outcomes. Therefore, the Jigsaw model can be an alternative active learning method to enhance vocational education quality in the automotive field.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the significance of the influence of the use of the animated film media Diva The Series on the improvement of responsibility values in early childhood (EC). Responsibility is an essential character pillar; however, preliminary observations at the Angkasa Kindergarten of Padang Air Force Base indicate that the responsibility behavior of EC still needs to be enhanced. This quantitative research uses a Quasi-Experimental design (Non-Equivalent Control Group Design), involving 20 children from Group B1 and B2. The experimental group (n=10) was given the treatment of watching the animated film, while the control group (n=10) received conventional learning. Data collection was carried out using pre-test and post-test observation instruments that measured 12 responsibility behavior indicators. Descriptive analysis results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental group (32.50) was higher than the control group (29.50). The hypothesis test using Independent Samples t-Test resulted in a significance value (1-tailed) of 0.001. This value is smaller than the significance level of ???? = 0.05, indicating that there is a significant effect of the animated film Diva The Series on the responsibility values of EC. Audio-visual media proved effective as a behavioral model that aligns with children's learning characteristics.
