Abstract

This study examines dawah strategies through education based on Surah An-Nahl (16:125), which emphasizes three main methods: wisdom (hikmah), good advice (mau‘izhah hasanah), and dialogue in the best manner (mujadalah billati hiya ahsan). A qualitative approach with a literature study method was employed, with primary data sourced from the Qur'an and its interpretations, and secondary data from recent academic literature from 2021 to 2025. The research population includes dawah and Islamic education literature, with a purposive sample considering the challenges of modern digitalization. Content analysis techniques were applied to interpret meanings in the context of education. The results indicate that Qur'anic dawah methods are highly relevant and aligned with effective Islamic education practices, emphasizing wisdom in teaching, moral exemplification, and critical dialogue. The study concludes that integrating these values into education can support the continuity of dawah in the modern era.

Abstract

This study analyzes the historical and contemporary dynamics of the Islamic Tarbiyah Association (PERTI) as a religious organization deeply rooted in the educational tradition of the Islamic Tarbiyah Madrasah (MTI) in Minangkabau. MTI, a product of the transformation of traditional surau (Islamic prayer hall) in the early 20th century, forms the epistemological, pedagogical, and ideological foundation for PERTI. Through a qualitative approach with a historical-sociological design, this study traces the evolution of PERTI from its emergence as a consolidation of older scholars to its development as a modern organization that plays a role in the educational, social, and religious fields of society. The research findings indicate that the religious identity of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah and the Shafi'i school of thought, the tradition of the yellow book, and active learning methods such as munazharah and mudzakarah are the pillars of PERTI's intellectual character. Furthermore, PERTI's close relationship with the Minangkabau social structure, particularly through the adat principle of basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah, provides strong legitimacy for its social role. This study confirms that PERTI's ability to maintain tradition while adapting to the demands of modernization is key to the organization's sustainability. The results of this study contribute to enriching studies on traditional Islamic education and local religious organizations in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in assisting Indonesian language learning for Thai students at Muang Nakhon Si Tammarat School. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation during the learning activities. CTL was implemented by linking language materials to students’ real-life contexts, using visual media, contextual dialogues, and interactive learning activities. The results indicate that CTL is able to improve students’ linguistic abilities, particularly in mastering basic vocabulary and constructing simple sentences. Students found it easier to understand word meanings because the learning process was based on direct experience and visual associations. The application of CTL also had a significant impact on students’ activeness and confidence in communication. A communicative classroom atmosphere and relevant activities encouraged students to speak more confidently, even when using simple sentence structures. In addition, visual media such as pictures, word cards, and PowerPoint presentations were proven to strengthen students’ retention and understanding of Indonesian language and cultural concepts. The study also found that CTL contributed positively to students’ learning attitudes and motivation, as indicated by increased enthusiasm, curiosity, and participation in interactive activities. Although there were challenges, such as phonological differences and limited time, these obstacles could be addressed through repetitive practice, the use of audio media, and scaffolding according to students’ needs. Overall, this study concludes that CTL is an effective and applicable approach for teaching Indonesian to beginners in a cross-cultural context.

Abstract

Amidst the growing interest of Indonesians in Korean culture, especially K-Pop, the demand for K-Pop merchandise has increased. However, direct purchases from official platforms based overseas are often hampered by high shipping costs and taxes, causing many consumers to turn to entrusted service. Kiyoptiykey is one such proxy service for purchasing K-Pop merchandise. Despite high market interest, Kiyoptiykey has experienced a decline in sales because the majority of transactions come from repeat customers, while the number of new customers has not increased significantly. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the effect of the marketing mix on purchasing decisions for Kiyoptiykey's entrusted service using descriptive quantitative methods on 118 respondents who were consumers who had used the service or purchased merchandise from Kiyoptiykey at least once. Data analysis was performed through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results of this study indicate that all dimensions of the marketing mix have a positive effect on purchasing decisions and influence 80% of them. These findings identify that the more effective the marketing mix strategy, the stronger the consumer's purchasing decision for Kiyoptiykey's entrusted service.

Abstract

The development of modern education demands a learning approach that not only focuses on cognitive aspects, but also develops social, moral, and spiritual skills. However, learning practices in many educational institutions are still dominant using lecture methods and have not been integrated with Islamic learning, so they lack effective learning theory. This study aims to describe Bandura's social learning theory and Piaget and Vygotsky's constructivism as a conceptual foundation for learning that is in line with the principles of Islamic education. Through a qualitative method based on literature studies, this study examines the literature on educational psychology and Islamic references to understand the characteristics, components, and implications of the two theories in holistic learning. The results show that social learning theory, which emphasizes the process of observation, modeling, and social reinforcement, is in line with the concept of exemplary (uswah hasanah) in Islam. Meanwhile, Piaget and Vygotsky's constructivism that emphasizes cognitive development, social interaction, and scaffolding in the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) is also in line with Islamic learning that is gradual, dialogical, and experiential. These findings provide a direction that these modern psychological theories can be the basis for the development of Islamic learning that touches on intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and social aspects, as well as become a theoretical foothold for a more comprehensive and contextual model of Islamic education.

Abstract

This research examines gender roles representation in the 2020 film Enola Holmes by analyzing the characterization of the main characters, Enola Holmes and Viscount Tewksbury. Using Stuart Hall’s (1997) theory of representation, this research explores how the film constructs, negotiates, or challenges traditional Victorian-era gender norms. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method supported by intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. The findings show that Enola is portrayed as an independent, intelligent, and courageous young woman who challenges the expectations placed on women in the Victorian era. Meanwhile, Tewksbury is depicted with a gentler and more expressive form of masculinity, which contrasts with dominant male stereotypes of the period. These representations indicate that the film introduces and constructs more flexible interpretations of gender identities and highlights the shifting meaning of gender roles through film. Accordingly, the main characters deviate from the gender role meaning in that era.

Abstract

This study examines how Lakoff’s women’s language features appear in the speech of Beatrice Prior in the film Divergent (2014). The research focuses on three aspects: the types of women’s language feature she uses, how these features are distributed across Abnegation and Dauntless, and how Beatrice’s social roles influence her linguistic choices. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, and the data consist of selected utterances that are classified based on Lakoff’s framework. The findings show that Beatrice uses several features such as lexical hedges, intensifiers, super polite forms, tag questions, and rising intonation. These features appear differently depending on the setting. In Abnegation, her speech is more polite and controlled, reflecting the values of the faction. After joining Dauntless, her language becomes more expressive and direct. The analysis also indicates that her shifts in social roles contribute to the changes in the way she speaks. The study highlights that her linguistic style adapts to the environment and the roles she performs throughout the story.

Abstract

The Harau Valley Nature Tourism Park (TWA) faces complex sustainability challenges, with an increase in tourist visits reaching 270,790 visitors in 2022. This has led to ecological pressure, multi-stakeholder conflicts, and ambiguity regarding the destination's identity between conservation and commercial functions. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) analyzes the multidimensional sustainability status (ecological, socio-cultural, economic, infrastructure), identifies gaps between formal public policy frameworks and field implementation practices, and formulates evidence-based, integrative policy recommendations. The study analyzes five peer-reviewed articles (2017-2024) using a multidimensional framework with MDS (Multidimensional Scaling), TALC (Tourist Area Life Cycle), and GRADE evidence synthesis. Inclusion criteria: publications in Indonesian/English, quantitative/qualitative/mixed-methods methodologies, field-based empirical research. The multidimensional sustainability index reached 59.45 (moderately sustainable) with dimension heterogeneity: ecology 66.52, infrastructure 65.66, economy 54.14, socio-culture 51.48. The optimal carrying capacity is 315,169 people/year, but temporal distribution is uneven, creating seasonal pressure. A significant gap was identified between formal regulations (Ministerial Decree, Regional Regulation) and implementation practices. The local leadership model of Tungku Tigo Sajarangan offers potential conflict resolution mechanisms for stakeholders. The Harau Valley Nature Tourism Park requires an integrative policy framework that balances conservation objectives, local livelihoods, and visitor satisfaction through community-centered governance, evidence-based quota systems, and the revitalization of traditional local leadership. A phased implementation is recommended, focusing on critical infrastructure (0-1 year), governance restructuring (1-3 years), and long-term ecological conservation (3-5 years).

Abstract

This study analyzes the forms of icons, indexes, and symbols as well as the cultural meanings embedded in the Kutai folktale Puan and Si Taddung by applying Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic framework. The study is grounded in the issue of diminishing local cultural literacy and the need to strengthen cultural identity through literature-based learning. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through documentation and close reading of narrative excerpts containing visual, situational, and symbolic signs. The data were categorized based on Peirce’s triadic model representamen, object, and interpretant and interpreted according to the cultural context of the Kutai community. The findings reveal that icons appear in depictions of the village landscape, characters, and cultural objects; indexes emerge through causal signs linked to events such as danger, illness, and moral obligation; and symbols represent deeper cultural values, including filial piety, bravery, honor, and spiritual purity. These signs collectively articulate the core principles of Kutai culture Politeness , identity and reputation, and honor and dignity. The study concludes that the folktale functions not only as a narrative of entertainment but also as a medium of cultural transmission and character education, highlighting its relevance for strengthening local wisdom within contemporary educational practice.
