Abstract

Learning Evaluation is carried out to determine the level of competence possessed by students. Computational Thinking is a learning approach used to improve students' cognitive thinking. Gender-based education is important to be implemented in all educational institutions because men and women have equal rights in obtaining education. Female students are often considered to have more weaknesses in learning technical practices than men, so it is expected to advance the thinking of students, especially gender equality between men and women in thinking in order to be able to compete in the world of work. This study aims to train how to think in solving problems using several techniques in Project Base Learning (PjBL)-based programming learning whose learning evaluation results between male and female students are analyzed using Tsukamoto's Fuzzy Inference method. The results obtained were the development of computational thinking of students totaling 40 people including 20 men and 20 women obtained 4 male students and 3 female students with "very high" scores, 5 male students and 5 female students obtained "High" scores, 8 male students and 12 female students obtained "Medium" scores, 2 male students obtained "Low" grades, while 1 male student obtained a score of "Very Low". This proves that the implementation of the concept of computational thinking in project-based learning (PjBL) programming learning can increase the level of thinking skills of students in doing learning.

Abstract

Currently, plug-and-unplugged activities for learning statistics are needed to determine students' mindsets when solving statistical problems manually, using calculations without programming as an unplugged activity and for data analysis as a plug activity. This research analyzes computational thinking self-efficacy in pre-service biology teachers by implementing plug-and-unplugged activities in statistics learning. The research method used is a case study with a computational thinking self-efficacy questionnaire instrument. The sample used was 107 pre-service biology teachers at a university in Indonesia who received plug-and-unplugged activities in statistics learning for one semester. The programs used in plug activities are the R and SPSS applications. The research results show that 43% of pre-service biology teachers' computational thinking self-efficacy is in the good category, 26% is in the moderate category, 16% is in the very good category, 10% is in the low category, and the rest are very low. Meanwhile, if we look at each component of self-efficacy, computational thinking, decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking are each in the moderate category. This indicates that plug-and-unplugged activities can initiate computational thinking skills in pre-service biology teachers. It is necessary to routinely provide activities or learning activities that can improve the computational thinking of pre-service biology teachers because of the need in this digital era

Abstract

Indonesia adopted the Comprehensive School Safety framework to increase the resilience of all its citizens to disaster. During a disaster, children with special needs and disabilities (SEND) are more likely to be abandoned. Hence, this research, targets to determine special education teachers disaster education plans and strategies, and the challenges they encountered in implementing Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana (SPAB). It was qualitative research that employed a purposive sampling technique in determining the study participants. The main participants were twenty-three (23) special education teachers and thirteen (13) school principals and community engagement officers from twelve (12) special education schools. Data gathering tools used were in-depth interviews, quick surveys, and observations. A qualitative descriptive approach was utilized in analyzing the data. The results build the evidence that amidst the countrys efforts over the past decades, children with SEND remain susceptible to disaster due to its delayed implementation in special education schools. A huge gap between the compliance of public and private special education units was identified. Implementation of locally adopted CSS was very recent. It was concluded that teachers competence influences mainly its implementation. Challenges were identified including the unavailability of Disaster Prevention and Risk Reduction Education (DPRRE) integrated modules, limited disability-inclusive teaching materials, and teachers limited training and knowledge about Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). The findings suggest a necessity to evaluate the quality and suitability of education units compliance with the provisions of the SPAB program policy
