Abstract

The development of the times and the impact of globalization have made it easier for foreign cultures to enter Indonesia; one example is Korean culture. Korean Wave or Hallyu is a term often used to describe the phenomenon of Korean popular culture. Therefore, this research aims to determine the relationship between Starbucks and Blackpink Collaboration on interest in purchasing Blackpink special edition tumblers. The theory used in this research is the S-O-R theory. The method used is quantitative; this research uses a sampling technique using the Non-Probability Sampling method with a total sample of 97 respondents who are fans or knowing Blackpink and Starbucks in Indonesia. The research results show that the Blackpink special edition tumbler product collaboration variable (X) and the purchase intention variable (Y) have a strong relationship. The correlation coefficient value shows a positive number, which means there is a unidirectional relationship between the two variables.

Abstract

This paper shows the commodification process that occurs in Kampung Adat Sijunjung to support the development of rural tourism. The commodification process can be seen in the use of Rumah Gadang as a homestay place for guests. Rumah Gadang for the Minangkabau people is not just a place to live but a space and cultural symbol. So that if it is used as a homestay it will cause a dilemma, on the one hand Rumah Gadang needs to be maintained as a distinctive Minangkabau cultural monument and on the other hand the tourism aspect can have an economic impact on the people of Sijunjung. The dualism of Rumah Gadang as a cultural product and tourism product is what results in commodification to develop tourism in rural areas. The method used was thorough observation of Rumah Gadang and interviewing 15 residents and Ninik Mamak (traditional ruler) as members of the tribe that owns Rumah Gadang. In addition, Rumah Gadang continues to function as a place and space for social and cultural activities of the Sijunjung community. So that the values and norms that exist in Rumah Gadang as a symbol of Minangkabau culture continue to run and through homestays, the Sijunjung community can obtain additional economic benefits from the tourism sector.

Abstract

Melikan is one of the best pottery producing villages. The ability to make pottery has been owned for generations and even had before prehistoric times. As a raw material in the manufacture of pottery, clay is the main element. So far, clay has been taken from crooked soil which is the right of village officials without any compensation to village officials. As a result, village officials did not benefit from the crooked land and there was natural damage that threatened the safety of villagers because of the puddles of former excavated soil. Through a qualitative research approach and supported by information from competent resource persons ranging from the Village Head, Village Consultative Board, Village Secretary, Village Apparatus, community leaders, youth leaders and religious leaders, it was obtained that there was a common desire to find a win-win solution. The win-win solution in question is that village officials get the right to get additional income and craftsmen get quality soil raw materials.

Abstract

This article explores the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the roles played by governments and civil society in shaping and encouraging CSR. The article begins by examining how CSR is related to specific patterns of business–government–civil society relations. Two basic models are explored: the dichotomous view that suggests CSR and government are mutually exclusive, and the view that CSR is the relationship between market actors and governments. The article also investigates recent changes in business–government–civil society relations, which have contributed to the growth and development of CSR. Finally, the article examines the ways in which governments have promoted CSR and how responsible public and private policies are interconnected. The article highlights the fact that the relationship between business, government, and civil society has a significant impact on the scope and nature of CSR.

Abstract

This study was carried out to examine the economic well-being and capacity of Arfak Tribe farmers in Manokwari, West Papua. It focused on investigating the factors influencing economic capacity in the context of the 2011–2016 Manokwari Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJMD), which aimed at poverty reduction. Furthermore, the descriptive analysis, differential tests, and regression analysis were used to compare the economic conditions between Arfak Tribe and non-Papuan farmers. The results showed significant disparities, where non-Papuan farmers enjoyed higher income, skills, capabilities, greater access to agricultural technology, adequate capital and work ethic compared to Arfak Tribe. Cultural factors and social capital had a significant negative impact on the income and savings levels. These results emphasized the importance of targeted assistance to strengthen the knowledge and skills of Arfak farmers. The effective use of financial assistance from the central and regional governments supported the economic development of this indigenous local community. Targeted assistance and financial support improved the situation for Arfak farmers, addressed the systemic issues such as unequal access to resources and opportunities that perpetuated poverty. In conclusion, this study provided valuable insights on policy interventions used to improve well-being and economic empowerment of indigenous local farmers.

Abstract

Border areas became a development priority in the Nawacita era, so many programs were carried out to support the acceleration of development in these areas. Belu and Malaka regencies are one of the border areas in the Indonesia Republic that borders the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste (RDTL). The aim is to see changes in the level of development of rural borders in the Belu and Malaka Regencies. The data used in this research is the Rural Development Index (IDM). The data that has been collected is then carried out with descriptive statistical analysis using a spatial approach. The results of this research explain that the level of development of rural borders in Belu Regency has experienced positive changes. However, rural borders in Malaka Regency have yet to undergo significant changes in the level of village development. It is because of the differences in the two regions' initial years of border development interventions. Belu Regency has priority in border area development compared to Malaka Regency. Belu Regency has a special program and budget from presidential instructions to accelerate border development. The case studies of the two districts suggest that the government should allocate a special budget to support policy implementation.
