Abstract

Stunting affects approximately 22.3% of children under five globally, with higher prevalence in low- and middle-income countries. While family nursing interventions may play a crucial role in preventing stunting through improved self-care practices, comprehensive evidence synthesis is lacking. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of family nursing care interventions in improving self-care practices related to stunting prevention, identify successful strategies, analyze outcomes, and provide evidence-based recommendations for healthcare practitioners.Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, we systematically searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, CINAHL, and Science Direct for studies published between 2019 and 2024. Two independent reviewers assessed methodological quality using standardized tools. Data were synthesized narratively due to intervention heterogeneity. Twenty-five studies met inclusion criteria, including mixed-methods, quantitative observational, randomized controlled trials, and qualitative studies. Family nursing interventions improved health literacy (35.4% increase) and growth monitoring compliance (68.5% increase). Culturally adapted educational approaches and home-based support showed the most substantial evidence for effectiveness. Stunting prevalence decreased by 17.5% among intervention groups, with improved height-for-age Z-scores (mean improvement: 0.45 SD). Success factors included cultural competency, regular supervision, and clear intervention protocols. Conclusion: Family nursing interventions effectively improve self-care practices and contribute to stunting prevention when incorporating cultural adaptation, regular monitoring, and integrated community support. Future research should focus on long-term outcomes and standardized measurement tools across diverse settings.

Abstract

Breast cancer, a heterogeneous disease, often metastasises, impacting prognosis. In Indonesia, adjuvant hormonal therapy (AHT) is the standard for hormone receptor-positive cancer, reducing recurrence and mortality. However, patients often face anxiety and depression during treatment. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) are known to alleviate psychological stress. This study aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Adjuvant Hormonal Therapy with Emotional Freedom Technique (AH-EFT) module for breast cancer patients. A quantitative survey with a descriptive design assessed the content validity and reliability of the AH-EFT module. Six breast cancer care experts reviewed the module using a validity questionnaire and qualitative feedback. The result found that the content validity percentage reached 97%, with session suitability at 95%. The module’s reliability value was 0.934, indicating excellent consistency. The AH-EFT module is highly valid and reliable, making it suitable for guiding counselling and treatment for breast cancer patients in Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

Introduction: Styrofoam is commonly used in food and beverage packaging. Styrofoam or polystyrene is made from styrene and benzene. The migration of benzene from packaging materials into foods can cause various diseases. One effort to reduce styrofoam waste is possible by searching for bacteria that can degrade styrofoam naturally. Potential source of place where the bacteria will be discovered is the landfill site in hospital. Material and Methods: This research applied exploratory methods through descriptive qualitative analysis. The stages of the study consisted of biodegradation testing using the Winogradsky method, calculation of the percentage of dry weight loss of Styrofoam, physical analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and analysis of changes in functional groups using FTIR. This study discovered 4 species of polystyrene degrading bacteria, namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus cereus and Bacillus firmus. Results: The percentage of dry weight reduction of polystyrene was shown in the eighth week which reached 18.23% and physical analysis by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) indicated that the process of degradation by soil bacteria resulted in formation of pores on the surface of styrofoam. Conclusion: Functional group analysis produced a simpler functional groups after the degradation as marked by the appearance of C-O functional groups at wavenumber of 1,030.02 cm-1. The use of these polystyrene degrading bacteria from Sarimukti landfill can be recommended as an environmentally friendly method for reducing styrofoam waste.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of spiritual techniques, specifically the Qur'anic Emotional Freedom Technique (SQEFT), in reducing anxiety among chronic kidney failure patients undergoing haemodialysis. A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design was employed on 29 patients over 30 days, with sessions held twice weekly. Anxiety levels, assessed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), showed a significant reduction after the intervention (p = 0.000). These findings suggest that SQEFT, as a spiritual technique, offers a promising non-pharmacological approach to managing anxiety in haemodialysis patients. Future studies are encouraged to explore its broader psychological benefits and long-term impact on patient well-being.
