Abstract

Given the environmental and health challenges, chicken poultry farms are now facing an increasing urgency to implement cleaner production. The application of the Cleaner Production concept is expected to be a solution to increase business efficiency and sustainability. One way is to process chicken poultry farm waste into valuable products, such as organic fertilizers, thereby reducing environmental negative impacts. This research method uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a three-box method. The community participates in a training program focusing on the innovation of processed chicken products, namely the manufacture of dimsum. This training covers theory and practices about Cleaner Production and dimsum-making techniques. The method used in building a complete solution in community service was obtained by Borg and Gall with the calculation of a questionnaire used to measure the achievement of induction of knowledge and skills based on the three-box method. The implementation of community service programs has shown an increase in the skills of partner Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by 89%, an increase in knowledge by 97.6%, and the development of ideas for sustainability by 98.8%. This community service provides a complete solution to increase cleaner production, effectively improving skills and adding value to UD Sumber Mandiri processed chicken products.

Abstract

Batik Gedog, a traditional craft from Tuban Regency, is rich in local wisdom, particularly in its unique manufacturing processes, motifs, and colors. This study aims to analyze the concepts of heat and temperature involved in creating Batik Gedog, demonstrating its potential as a contextual learning medium for teaching these concepts. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing ethnographic methods to gather insights. Purposive sampling was employed to select Batik Gedog craftsmen with comprehensive knowledge of the Batik-making process. Data collection involved interviews with two craftsmen from Kerek District, Tuban Regency, and a review of relevant literature. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal the presence of heat transfer mechanisms—conduction, convection, and radiation—during the Batik-making process, alongside the phase change of Batik wax from solid to liquid through heating. These results underscore the relevance of heat and temperature concepts in the traditional practice of making Batik Gedog.

Abstract

As a branch of natural science, physics explores the fundamental properties of matter and energy and their interactions. This study specifically examines the concept of elasticity—the ability of an object to return to its original shape after removing an external force—and equilibrium, which are crucial in understanding various physical phenomena. The research aims to highlight the practical applications of elasticity and equilibrium principles in daily life across multiple fields. Additionally, it seeks to underscore the importance of physics education in preventing misconceptions about these fundamental concepts. The findings suggest that effectively applying elasticity and equilibrium principles can enhance problem-solving in everyday scenarios. However, there is a critical need to improve physics education, particularly in literature and practical simulations, to mitigate common misconceptions and enhance understanding.

Abstract

Local wisdom plays a crucial role in preserving cultural heritage and embedding scientific knowledge within traditional practices. This study explores the physics concepts inherent in the traditional process of making Klepon, a local snack from Pasuruan, and examines the community's response to this cultural practice. Using a qualitative descriptive research method, the study gathered in-depth data to uncover the underlying physical principles and societal perceptions. The findings reveal that making traditional Klepon involves key physics concepts such as pressure, phase changes, temperature, heat, and Archimedes' principle. Additionally, the research indicates the positive reception of these traditional snacks by the local community and consumers. The study concludes that the preparation of Klepon embodies significant physics concepts and that there is strong community support for the preservation and continued development of this cultural heritage.

Abstract

Local wisdom is integral to a community's cultural identity, encapsulating knowledge, values, and practices passed down through generations. The traditional game of Patil Lele, rich in cultural significance, also serves as a valuable educational tool for exploring fundamental physics concepts. This study aims to analyze the physics principles inherent in the Patil Lele game and identify optimal techniques for achieving maximum throwing distance. The research used a quantitative descriptive method; Data were collected through interviews and observations and supported by a thorough literature review. The findings reveal that the game embodies key physics concepts, including parabolic motion, Newton's laws, the moment of force, momentum, and impulse. Moreover, three effective techniques for enhancing throwing distance were identified. This research underscores the importance of applying physics concepts to enhance traditional games, enriching educational value and preserving cultural heritage.
