Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology brings challenges for Islamic educational institutions, including in creating an Islamic school culture that remains relevant in the modern era. In this context, prophetic leadership is key in integrating Islamic values and technology in education. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of prophetic leadership in shaping Islamic school culture and digital technology adaptation at SDIT Darul Falah. The main problem studied is how school principals as prophetic leaders are able to create a strong Islamic culture while implementing digital technology in learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Prophetic leadership at SDIT Darul Falah Sukorejo Ponorogo can form an Islamic school culture that is adaptive to digital technology. Prophetic values such as siddiq, amanah, fathanah, and tabligh are internalized through the collaboration of school principals, teachers, and parents. Technology is used ethically to support Islamic learning, character building, and digital literacy. This approach shows that the digitalization of education can be aligned with Islamic values through transformative and insightful leadership.

Abstract

This study explores school climate's role in self-regulated learning (SRL) among students at modern Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Medan City. As the number of subjects and study hours increases, students face the challenge of learning independently. The research sample consisted of 350 students from grades 8 and 9 across four modern Islamic boarding schools. Data were collected using a Likert scale measuring SRL and school climate. The SRL data used in this study differ from those in other SRL research, as this study analyzes SRL based on different types of self-regulated learning. This distinction is important because it can help students maximize their learning potential and assist educators in assigning appropriate tasks. The regression analysis results indicate that school climate has a significant effect on the growth pathway type of SRL, contributing 5.2%, as well as on the well-being pathway type, contributing 5.7%. These findings highlight the importance of fostering a positive school climate to support students' independent learning, enabling them to achieve their learning objectives more effectively. This study recommends that Islamic boarding school authorities pay greater attention to aspects of school climate to enhance students' learning, self-development and emotional well-being.

Abstract

This study examines the three types of writing anxiety—somatic, cognitive, and avoidance—through library research methodology. Writing anxiety represents a significant barrier to effective written communication in educational and professional contexts. The research addresses three main questions: the characteristics and manifestations of each anxiety type, the factors that contribute to their development, and effective coping strategies. Through literature review and analysis of relevant literature published between 2018 and 2024, the study identifies distinct manifestations of each anxiety type: physical symptoms for somatic anxiety, negative thought patterns for cognitive anxiety, and task-avoidant behaviors for avoidance anxiety. Contributing factors include previous negative experiences, problematic educational practices, personal characteristics, situational elements, and social influences. Effective coping strategies include cognitive approaches that challenge negative beliefs, behavioral techniques like establishing writing routines, educational supports such as writing workshops, physical management strategies including relaxation exercises, and environmental modifications. The findings provide valuable insights for educators, writing support professionals, and individuals struggling with writing anxiety, highlighting the importance of comprehensive, multi-dimensional approaches to address this complex phenomenon.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in economics subjects at Manado High School. The objective of the research is to examine how PBL influences students' learning experiences, critical thinking, and engagement in economic topics. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that PBL enhances students’ problem-solving abilities, promotes active participation, and encourages collaboration in learning. Teachers reported that students became more motivated and better understood economic concepts when learning was contextualized through real-world problems. However, several challenges were identified, including time constraints, varying levels of student preparedness, and the need for teacher training. Overall, the findings suggest that PBL is an effective approach to teaching economics and has the potential to improve the quality of education when implemented with appropriate support and resources.

Abstract

Integrating mobile devices into educational settings has reshaped traditional learning environments, offering both opportunities and challenges. This study aims to investigate the role of mobile devices in enhancing student engagement, academic performance, and overall learning outcomes. The major objectives include examining the benefits and drawbacks of mobile device use in education, identifying effective strategies for managing mobile device integration, and understanding its impact on student focus and motivation. A quantitative research design was employed, with data collected through surveys from students in various educational institutions. The findings indicate that while mobile devices enhance access to educational resources, promote collaboration, and increase student engagement, they also contribute to distractions and cognitive overload, affecting academic performance. Case studies, such as the University of Maryland’s mobile learning initiative and the "One Tablet per Student" program in Uruguay, provide insights into the practical challenges of integrating mobile technology in education. The study recommends, among others, that educators strike a balance between leveraging technologies for academic purposes and managing the distractions they may cause to ensure the effective use of mobile devices in enhancing educational outcomes.

Abstract

This study presents a detailed process of designing and validating of the biology achievement test for class XI students. The investigator first framed 77 items from the class XI biology NCERT textbook. After writing test items, the researcher consulted subject experts to make sure the items were well-structured, free of language errors, and had the right difficulty level. Incorporating the expert suggestions, a preliminary draft of 80 test items was developed. This preliminary draft was then administered to 100 biology students in private CBSE schools in Chandigarh for item analysis. The difficulty value (DV) and item discrimination (DP) were established using Kelley's (1939) method. Based on item analysis, 38 items were retained in the achievement test. The average item difficulty of the test was calculated as 0.54, and the average item discrimination was 0.49. A high-reliability coefficient of .87 was obtained for the test. The test’s validity was supported through expert evaluation and content validation. The results showed that the biology achievement test is both highly reliable and valid for assessing class XI students' understanding of biology.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of interactive modules of Science based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in improving the learning activity and achievement of fourth-grade students of SDN 09 Bungku. The research methods used were observation, interviews, and evaluation of student learning outcomes before and after implementing the module. The results showed that the implementation of interactive modules based on PBL significantly improved student learning activity. Students became more enthusiastic, actively discussed, asked questions, and solved problems independently or in groups. In addition, student learning achievement also experienced a significant increase, with all students achieving the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This interactive module provides an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience by presenting contextual materials, visual illustrations, and interactive activities that stimulate critical thinking and student creativity. The teacher acts as a facilitator who guides students in using the module to make the learning process more effective and structured. This study recommends the use of interactive modules based on PBL as an alternative innovative learning that can improve motivation, involvement, and student learning outcomes in elementary schools.
