Abstract

Character education based on local wisdom is a strategic approach to shaping students' personalities in alignment with regional cultural values. This study aims to explore the role of teachers in instilling character education through learning activities integrated with the local culture of Enrekang at MIS Muhammadiyah Kalosi. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers play a central role in fostering character values through modeling, habituation, and reinforcement of local cultural values such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, deliberation, and respect for parents and teachers. Teachers also face several challenges, including limited instructional time, lack of parental support, and students' low understanding of character values. To overcome these issues, teachers adopt adaptive strategies such as integrating character values into non-formal activities and enhancing communication with parents. These findings imply that the success of contextual character education requires sustained collaboration among schools, families, and the broader community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of storytelling methods supported by visual media to enhance storytelling skills in early childhood. The research was conducted at KB Aurora, Latta, Indonesia, using a classroom action research design consisting of two intervention cycles, involving 11 children aged 5ÔÇô6 years. In each session, theme-based storytelling was combined with the use of visual media to support the learning process. The results showed a significant improvement in the children's storytelling skills. Before the intervention, more than half of the participants were categorized as "Not Yet Developed," but after the intervention, 90.9% of the participants achieved the category "Developing as Expected" or higher. Visual media proved effective in enriching vocabulary, improving fluency and coherence of stories, and encouraging active participation and self-confidence in children. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating storytelling methods with visual media in the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) curriculum as a practical and effective approach to support the development of children's language skills.┬á

Abstract

Tauhid-based education plays a crucial role in shaping the spiritual character of young children. This study aims to analyze the implementation of tauhid learning and its influence on the development of children's spiritual character at Waladun Shalih Integrated Islamic Kindergarten in Palopo City. A qualitative case study approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of tauhid-oriented educational practices within an integrated Islamic school environment. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, involving the principal, teachers, staff, and group B children (aged 5ÔÇô6 years) as research subjects. The findings reveal that tauhid learning is implemented in a structured manner through thematic approaches and daily spiritual activities such as collective prayer, Dhuha prayer, morning dhikr, and the introduction of Asmaul Husna. Teachers serve as role models in spirituality and behavior, functioning as direct media for instilling tauhid values. The formation of children's spiritual character is further supported by a religious school environment and active parental involvement through parenting programs. These results affirm that the implementation of tauhid learning significantly contributes to building the foundation of faith and spiritual character in early childhood

Abstract

The Hadrah Al-Jiduri art, rooted in the local Islamic tradition of ahlussunnah wal jamaÔÇÖah, serves as a cultural daÔÇÖwah strategy that not only preserves religious values but also fosters character building. This study aims to explore how the Hadrah Al-Jiduri community applies collective leadership, regional coordination, youth involvement, routine gatherings, and major religious events to shape moral traits such as humility (tawadhuÔÇÖ), consistency (istiqomah), love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW, tolerance, discipline, and spiritual awareness. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using Miles and HubermanÔÇÖs interactive model with triangulation for validity. The findings show that the structured and participatory practices of Hadrah Al-Jiduri effectively integrate local cultural wisdom into daÔÇÖwah activities, providing a replicable model for strengthening religious character and communal harmony.┬á┬á

Abstract

The lack of contextually relevant digital learning media rooted in local culture has contributed to low levels of interest and engagement among kindergarten children in learning moral values. This study aims to develop a local wisdom-based e-book from Aceh as an instructional medium to foster moral education in early childhood. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) combined with a descriptive quantitative method. The sample consisted of 18 children aged 5ÔÇô6 years. Data were collected through expert validation (media and content) and observations of child engagement during the e-book trial phase. The results indicated that the e-book was highly feasible, with media expert validation scores reaching 80%, content expert validation scores at 90%, and product trial results with children ranging from 92% to 100%. These findings demonstrate that digital media grounded in local wisdom can effectively enhance young childrenÔÇÖs engagement and understanding of moral values.
