Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of digital technology in character education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0 through  a systematic literature review  approach to 50 selected studies published in the 2020–2025 period. The results of the study show that digital literacy is the main foundation that strengthens the formation of students' character, especially in terms of honesty, responsibility, empathy, and 21st century skills. The role of teachers, families, schools, and governments has proven to be crucial in supporting implementation, while the main challenges lie in the gap in technology access, human resource readiness, and curriculum adaptation. This study also identifies  research gaps, namely the limitations of integrative models that connect technology, character education, and digital resilience simultaneously, as well as the lack of empirical evidence based on the Indonesian context that is in line with the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) program. Thus, this article provides a conceptual contribution in the form of new research directions and policy models that emphasize digital literacy, ethics, and critical digital citizenship as instruments for shaping the character and digital resilience of the younger generation.

Abstract

Dance is a form of expression that reflects human interaction with the environment and culture as a ritual or entertainment art. One of them, Puspanjali Balinese dance is categorized as an entertainment dance in the form of a new creation dance (Balih-balihan Dance). This research examines the aesthetics of the Puspanjali dance form which refers to the aesthetic theory of Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative by conducting observations, interviews with Balinese dance experts and literature studies. The analysis shows that Puspanjali dance movements are performed repetitively consisting of Agem (Agem right and left), Tangkis (Ngegol, Ngegol Nyemak Saput, Angsel, Ngeseh, Jalan swinging hand ukel, Jalan swinging holding saput), Tangkep (Ngliyer, Seledet). This variety of motion refers to pure motion that only shows aesthetics without meaning. This research concludes that the aesthetics of Puspanjali dance form can be seen through the concept of satyam which categorizes Puspanjali dance presentation as Balih-Balihan dance and the concept of sundaram refers to the beauty of Puspanjali dance form. Through the aesthetic approach, this research increases the understanding of Puspanjali dance form.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of competency-based training on the performance of human resources (HR) in the creative industry sector using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The analysis was conducted on 50 recent studies (2020–2025) selected from 947 initial articles through the stages of identification, selection, and quality assessment. The results of the study show that competency-based training consistently has a positive impact on creativity (92.9%), innovation (93.3%), competitiveness (88.9%), and productivity (86.4%). The effectiveness of the program is influenced by the design of the relevant curriculum, the integration of digital technologies (e-learning, VR/AR), collaboration between industry and educational institutions, and the support of organizational management. These findings also have global implications in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda, especially in the aspects of quality education (SDG 4), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), and industrial innovation (SDG 9). However, this study found a research gap, namely the limitations of longitudinal studies on long-term impacts, the lack of studies on the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the need for a more systematic industry-education collaboration model. Thus, this study emphasizes that competency-based training is a key strategy in strengthening the competitiveness of creative industry human resources in the era of global digital transformation.

Abstract

Rapid urbanization in Indonesia's urban areas has changed children's food consumption patterns, shifting from fresh and home-cooked foods to junk foods high in calories, saturated fat, sugar, and sodium. This change is driven by easy access, economic dynamics, and exposure to media and massive marketing, which shape food preferences from an early age. A food environment dominated by junk food narrows opportunities for healthy food consumption, while the busy urban pace of life encourages families to choose fast food as a practical solution. Socioeconomic factors influence the type and frequency of consumption, but dependence on junk food occurs across all levels of society. Low parental nutritional literacy, minimal promotional regulations, and the dominance of digital marketing reinforce this trend. Consequently, the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes in children has increased significantly, exacerbated by a sedentary lifestyle and low physical activity. Physiologically, a diet high in sugar and trans fats triggers insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, and pancreatic β-cell fatigue. This phenomenon demands evidence-based, multidimensional interventions that include marketing regulations, food environment management, school-based nutrition education, and strengthening the role of families. Cross-sector collaboration and a continuous evaluation system are needed to simultaneously change socio-environmental determinants, so as to suppress the rate of the metabolic disease epidemic in urban youth.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of technology in the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum, aiming to enhance learning effectiveness while maintaining the core values of Islamic teachings. As digital tools become increasingly prevalent in education, this research investigates how they can be optimized for use in IRE without compromising the essence of religious principles. A qualitative research design was employed, using literature review, interviews with educators, and focus group discussions with students. The findings reveal that while technology can enhance student engagement and offer personalized learning opportunities, challenges such as inadequate teacher training, limited resources, and concerns about replacing traditional methods must be addressed. When appropriately integrated, technology can support traditional educational methods and improve the understanding of religious texts, fostering a deeper connection to Islamic teachings. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the importance of professional development for educators and adequate resources to successfully implement technology in IRE. It also suggests that further research is needed to explore the long-term impact of technology on religious education and its alignment with Islamic values.

Abstract

Hinduism demonstrated remarkable dynamism and flexibility, adapting to socio-cultural changes while preserving its core essence. This adaptability manifested in diverse ritual practices, including unique variations of the ngaben (cremation) ceremony in Bali. This study focused on the distinctive ngaben tradition of the Tutuan community in Pujungan Customary Village, Tabanan, which deviated significantly from common Balinese practices. Its uniqueness lay in three key aspects: employing lalang grass as the pengawak (effigy), selecting the officiating priest (pemuput) exclusively from the Brahmana caste (Ida Pedanda), and utilizing specific locations and burial procedures. The research investigated the form, function, and theological meaning of this tradition. It aimed to analyze the relevance of its spiritual, social, and ecological values to contemporary Hinduism and evaluate its resilience to modernization and socio-economic pressures. A descriptive qualitative methodology was employed, integrating ethnographic and Hindu theological approaches. Data were gathered through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, interpreted using deconstruction theory. Results reveal that the Tutuan ngaben transcends mere ancestor veneration. It embodies the principles of tri hita karana (harmony with God, humans, and nature) and tat twam asi (universal self). Lalang grass symbolizes simplicity and ecological connection, while involving Ida Pedanda reflects deep spiritual commitment. Conducting rites at cangkem setra (cemetery edge) with burial demonstrates a contextually faithful interpretation of dharma. The study concludes that this practice represents authentic, contextual, and ecological Hindu spirituality. Preserving it is crucial as intangible Balinese heritage, offering valuable insights for religious, cultural, and spiritual education rooted in local wisdom

Abstract

This study examines the role of da'wah journalism in building the character of students at STIT Islamiyah Karya Pembangunan Paron Ngawi. The formation of student character in the Islamic education environment requires a holistic approach that integrates Islamic values in the learning process. Da'wah journalism as an Islamic communication medium has great potential in instilling character values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and social concern. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the implementation of da'wah journalism in the formation of student character. The results of the study show that the integration of da'wah journalism in the Islamic higher education curriculum can be an effective strategy to build the character of students who are moderate, religious, and with integrity. Practice-based learning methodologies, the use of digital technology, and adequate supervision are key to the success of this program. The research recommends the need for a curriculum revision that integrates prophetic values in journalistic competence as well as the development of comprehensive assessment methods to measure character formation quantitatively and qualitatively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of social media in influencing adolescent health behaviors from the perspectives of public health, psychology, and digital communication. The method used was qualitative research with a descriptive approach, through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), observation, and analysis of social media content frequently accessed by adolescents. The results show that social media is a primary source of health information for adolescents and has a dual influence. On the positive side, social media encourages healthy lifestyles, increases motivation, and provides easy access to health education. However, on the negative side, it can spread misinformation, encourage extreme diets, and psychological stress due to social comparison and the fear of missing out. The multidisciplinary analysis confirms that public health views social media as an effective campaign tool, psychology highlights social and emotional influences, while digital communication highlights the importance of creative content and the risks of algorithms. This study emphasizes the need for strong digital and health literacy, as well as collaboration between health workers and influencers to optimally utilize social media as a means of adolescent health education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of local cultural revitalization and the use of digital technology in supporting sustainable ecotourism development. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used in this research, which was conducted in Penglipuran Village (Bali) and Nglanggeran Village (Yogyakarta) from March to May 2025. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results indicate that revitalized local culture, such as traditional art performances, crafts, and local mythological narratives, plays a significant role in strengthening destination identity and creating educational tourism experiences. The use of digital technologies, such as social media, village websites, and audiovisual content, enables local communities to promote their culture more widely and independently. The younger generation plays a role as content creators and bridges between generations in cultural preservation. The integration of culture and digitalization has been proven to increase tourism competitiveness and encourage the empowerment of a locally-based creative economy. However, challenges such as the risk of cultural commodification and low digital literacy remain obstacles that need to be addressed collaboratively. This study emphasizes the importance of a participatory and culturally sensitive approach in ecotourism development in the digital era.
