Abstract

Mangroves are woody plants that thrive in wet, muddy, and brackish water habitats found in tropical and subtropical regions. Mangroves are commonly found in Indonesia. One type of mangrove plant is Acanthus ilicifolius L., which can be utilized for medicinal purposes due to its phytochemical content. The aim of this narrative review is to provide information and an overview of the potential phytochemical and pharmacological activities present in each part of the mangrove plant jeruju, along with the solvents and testing methods used. The method employed in this narrative review involves searching for relevant articles on the internet through databases such as Google Scholar, Springer Open, Science Direct, and PubMed. According to several studies, methanol solvent yields the best results as it extracts the most phytochemical content from the mangrove jeruju. The leaves and stems of the mangrove jeruju are the most researched parts because they are the most dominant and easiest to treat. Research findings indicate that the leaves and stems of the jeruju plant contain the highest amounts of alkaloids, tannins, terpenoids, phenols, and flavonoids, with antimicrobial activity being the most commonly found pharmacological potential.

Abstract

Penyimpanan merupakan kegiatan pengamanan perbekalan farmasi khususnya adalah obat, untuk menjamin mutu obat, obat-obatan disimpan melalui cara penempatan di tempat yang dinilai aman dari gangguan fisik dan pencurian, ruang penyimpanan diatur agar menimimalisir kerusakan/kehilangan suatu obat, untuk mengatur obat agar mudah dalam pencarian, pengawasan, pencatatan dan pelaporan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran penyimpanan obat di gudang farmasi Puskesmas Wonosari II Kecamatan Wonosari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif observasional dengan pendekatan studi kasus dan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara, dengan menggunakan daftar sesuai dengan checklist yang mengacu pada standar pelayanan kefarmasian di Puskesmas tahun 2016 serta dokumentasi. Variabel dalam penelitian menggunakan variable tunggal yaitu penyimpanan obat di gudang farmasi Puskesmas Wonosari II. Hasil pada penelitian yang telah dilakukan di Puskesmas Wonosari II Kecamatan Wonosari menunjukan skor persentase rata-rata sebesar 89,6% dengan kategori Sangat Baik. Meliputi aspek pengaturan tata ruang persentase kesesuaian sebesar 78,5%, penyusunan stok obat persentase kesesuaian senilai 80%, pencatatan kartu stok persentase kesesuaian senilai 100% dan pengamatan mutu obat persentase kesesuaian sebesar 100%. Dengan adanya temuan dari hasil tersebut perlu dilakukan upaya perbaikan terhadap pengaturan tata ruang dan penyusunan stok obat.

Abstract

Star fruit is a fruit that has been cultivated for a long time by Indonesian people. Star fruit plants consist of two types. Sweet starfruit and sour starfruit or wuluh, starfruit can be used as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. So further research needs to be carried out on testing the flavonoid content of ethanol extract of star fruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. So that the potential for developing this plant as a medicinal ingredient for the prevention and treatment of various diseases can be increased. The aim of this study was to determine the levels of flavonoids in star fruit. This study used a sample of 3 kg of star fruit. Extraction using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the research showed that the qualitative test with color reagents showed positive results of a brownish yellow color, there were flavonoid compounds in the star fruit, while the results of the quantitative test with UV- Vis spectophotometry showed levels of flavonoid compounds with an average of 0.4384% w/w or 4,384 mg/kg.

Abstract

The incidence of hypertension in the elderly has increased, which is caused by several factors that affect the level of compliance. This study was conducted to determine the level of compliance and factors that influence the use of antihypertensive drugs in patients at the elderly Posyandu Drono Village. This study used purposive sampling technique and questionnaire instrument of MARS-10, correlation analysis was performed with Chi-square test. The results showed that the level of patient compliance in the elderly Posyandu of Drono Village was not compliant (71.4%). Factors that have a correlation with compliance with the use of antihypertensive drugs are educational factors, with a value of p = 0,002 and family support factors with a value of p = 0,045. Providing comprehensive counseling about the desired outcomes, potential side effects, and proper medication usage can enhance patient knowledge, ultimately improving patient adherence. Moreover, family support can promote better adherence in elderly patients.

Abstract

Daun bidara arab (Ziziphus spina-christi L.) Desf. memiliki banyak manfaat salah satunya sebagai antibakteri. Salmonella typhi dan Bacillus cereus merupakan bakteri penyebab penyakit diare. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun bidara arab (Ziziphus spina-christi L.) Desf. dan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun bidara yang paling baik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella typhi dan Bacillus cereus. Metode maserasi dengan etanol 96% untuk ekstraksi dan difusi cakram untuk pengujian aktivitas antibakteri. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri diperoleh rata-rata diameter zona hambat Salmonella typhi pada masing-masing konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, dan 100% yaitu 1,1 mm, 2,9 mm, 4,1 mm, 4,7 mm, 5,6 mm dan pada bakteri Bacillus cereus yaitu 1,4 mm, 2,3 mm, 4,7 mm, 5,5 mm dan 6,1 mm. Uji analisis statistik One Way ANOVA diperoleh nilai signifikasi P<0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun bidara arab (Ziziphus spina-christi L.) Desf. memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dan konsentrasi paling baik dalam menghambat bakteri Salmonella typhi dan Bacillus cereus yaitu 100% dengan masing-masing diameter rata-rata zona hambat sebesar 5,6 mm dan 6,1 mm.

Abstract

As we get older, the structure and quality of the lips begin to change a lot. Starting from the appearance of fine lines to wrinkles on the upper and lower lips. The influence of climate and weather also causes a lot of damage to the lip lining, making the lips dry and chapped. One preparation that can be used to treat lip problems is lip moisturizer. Nowadays, besides the benefits of lip moisturizer to maintain or reduce the evaporation of water in the lip area, it can also be used at the same time to give color to the lips to make them look prettier. The oil phase content in lip moisturizer preparations also plays a role in maintaining lip moisture. Based on this, the research aims to make a lip moisturizer preparation with natural dyes from Areca nut (Areca catechu L.) extract with a combination of an oil phase base as an emollient as well as a moisturizer for the lips. This research method is an experimental research design with variations in the concentration of Areca nut extract as a natural dye and a combination of oil bases, namely canola oil and olive oil. The result of the evaluation quality of the lip balm preparation in the organoleptic test showed that the preparation had a semi-solid consistency with a dark red-brown color and a distinctive smell of coffee essence. The preparation shows a homogeneous composition, with a pH value in the range of 6.1-6.6. The spreadability of the preparation ranges from a diameter of 6.2-6.9 cm, with the melting point showing a temperature range between 50-64 °C. Based on the result of the evaluation quality of the lip moisturizer preparation it has met the standard requirements for the quality of the preparation. So it can be concluded that Areca nut (Areca catechu L.) extract can be used as a natural dye in the lip balm preparations with a stable color consistency and the use of a combination of canola oil and olive oil for bases able to maintain moisture on the lips.

Abstract

Infectious diseases are still a major health problem in several countries, especially in developing countries. The medication used to treat bacterial infections is obtained by utilizing herbal plants obtained from natural ingredients. Pumpkin fruit extract (Cucurbita moschata) contains flavonoids. tannins, saponins, and alkaloids Pumpkin fruit is effective as an antidiabetic, an antihypertensive, an antitumor, an antibacterial, and an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the methanol and n-hexane fractions of yellow pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) fruit extract and at what concentration the methanol and n-hexane fractions of yellow pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) fruit extract can have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This research uses laboratory-experimental research methods. Antibacterial testing in this research involved sterilization, making test solutions, and testing. The results of the antibacterial test on the inhibition zone of the methanol fraction of pumpkin fruit against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at concentrations of 20%, 30%, and 40% were in the strong category, while the n-hexane fraction had an inhibition zone in the weak category for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Conclusion: The methanol and n-hexane fractions have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, and the concentrations with antibacterial activity are 20%, 30%, and 40%.

Abstract

Hidrokuinon adalah agen pemutih wajah yang sering digunakan dalam produk kosmetik. Senyawa ini bekerja dengan menghambat konversi DOPA menjadi melanin melalui penghambatan enzim tirosinase. Penggunaan hidrokuinon dapat menimbulkan efek samping seperti iritasi kulit, kemerahan, sensasi terbakar, okronosis, bahkan meningkatkan risiko kanker. Oleh karena itu, penggunaannya dilarang dalam produk kosmetik yang beredar di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan informasi komprehensif mengenai berbagai metode yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengukur kadar hidrokuinon dalam produk kosmetik. Metode penelitian dilakukan melalui studi literatur dari artikel nasional dan internasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode yang dapat digunakan untuk identifikasi hidrokuinon meliputi uji warna dan kromatografi lapis tipis, sedangkan pengukuran kadar dapat dilakukan dengan metode Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi (KCKT), Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa (GC-MS), Spektrofotometri UV-Vis, serta titrasi Serimetri.

Abstract

Daun lahuna atau yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Chromolaena odorata adalah tumbuhan digunakan secara tradisional untuk mengobati luka, obat batuk, dan penyakit kulit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui potensi ekstrak daun lahuna sebagai sumber senyawa aktif dan aktivitas antibakteri sediaan lotion ekstrak daun lahuna terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Pada skrining fitokimia, senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terdapat pada ekstra etanol daun lahuna adalah fenolik, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, dan alkaloid. Formulasi sediaan lotion dibuat tiga variasi konsentrasi yaitu 2 gram (F1), 3 gram (F2), dan 4 gram (F3). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas antibakteri pada bakteri Staphlococcus aureus setelah diformulasikan dalam sediaan lotion memiliki zona hambat berturut-turut 12.428 mm, 12.89 mm, dan 14.255 mm.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit yang tidak bisa sembuh total, bahkan butuh perawatan lama dan menghabiskan biaya yang tidak sedikit. Oleh karena itu diperlukan analisis efektivitas biaya untuk memutuskan pemilihan obat yang efektif secara manfaat dan biaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui antidiabetik yang paling cost-effective di RSU Bhayangkara Indramayu dengan melihat karakteristik pasien, mengetahui persentase terapi yang efektif dan pemilihan terapi yang paling efisien menggunakan parameter ACER. Penelitian ini bersifat observasional (non-eksperimental) serta perolehan data secara retropektif dengan melihat dari data rekam medik pasien DM di RSU Bhayangkara Indramayus. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah rekam medik pasien DM dengan sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi sebanyak 82 pasien. nalisis data dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas biaya terapi pada pengobatan DM dengan menggunakan parameter ACER. Berdasarkan jenis kelamin pasien paling banyak menderita DM terjadi pada perempuan sebanyak 54 pasien (65,8%) sedangkan laki-laki terdapat 28 pasien (34,2%). Terapi antidiabetik yang paling cost-effective adalah kombinasi mentformin dan glimepirid dengan nilai efektivitas terapi 81,81%, nilai ACER sebesar Rp. 39.956. Terapi menggunakan metformin tunggal memiliki nilai efektivitas terapi 70%, nilai ACER sebesar Rp. 45.665.
