Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the effects of workload and career development on employee turnover intention at PT XYZ in the property sector. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employs a quantitative explanatory research approach to examine the causal relationships between workload, career development, and turnover intention. Data were collected from 120 employees of PT XYZ, selected from a population of 217 employees. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, followed by classical assumption tests. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing with IBM SPSS version 25. Findings – The results indicate that workload has a positive and significant effect on employee turnover intention, meaning that higher workload increases employees’ intention to leave the organization. Conversely, career development has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention, indicating that better career development opportunities can reduce employees’ intention to leave. Furthermore, workload and career development simultaneously have a significant effect on turnover intention. These findings emphasize the importance of managing workload and providing clear career development pathways to retain employees. Originality/Value: This research offers value by examining the combined influence of workload and career development on turnover intention using a comprehensive quantitative approach. The study also increases the strength of its findings by collecting data from a larger number of respondents than initially required. The results contribute original evidence that can guide organizations in designing strategies to reduce turnover intention and improve employee retention.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine the effect of digitalization on employee performance with deviant behavior as a mediating variable among PLN UP3 Malang employees. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employs a quantitative research approach using a saturated sampling technique. The respondents consisted of 101 permanent employees of PLN UP3 Malang. Data were collected through printed questionnaires distributed directly to respondents and analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method with SmartPLS version 4. Findings – The results indicate that digitalization has a significant positive effect on employee performance, while digitalization has a negative effect on deviant behavior. Furthermore, deviant behavior does not significantly affect employee performance and does not mediate the relationship between digitalization and employee performance. These findings suggest that digitalization should be continuously optimized while implementing strategies to minimize potential negative workplace behaviors. Originality/Value This research provides value by empirically examining the role of deviant behavior as a mediating variable in the relationship between digitalization and employee performance, offering insights that help organizations optimize digital initiatives while maintaining a healthy work environment.

Findings – The results indicate that the proposed strategies for Cacylflow include product diversification, marketplace expansion, service improvement through greeting board rental and workshops, workforce development through collaboration with women’s organizations (PKK), and strengthening online and offline promotional activities. Furthermore, the investment feasibility analysis shows that the Cacylflow business is financially feasible for development. Originality/Value This study presents a practical business planning framework for pipe-cleaner–based handicraft enterprises, a niche sector rarely examined academically. By integrating SWOT, BMC, and investment feasibility analysis, it offers actionable and context-specific strategies that support growth, innovation, and long-term viability.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the causes of defects and waste in the T-shirt production process at PT Magnum Attack Indonesia using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) cycle and to provide improvement recommendations based on the analysis. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employs an applied quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies at PT Magnum Attack Indonesia. Interviews involved the company director, production manager, and two production operators. The analysis was conducted using Value Stream Mapping (VSM), p-chart control mapping, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify waste, defects, and improvement priorities. Findings – The results show that the T-shirt production process contains several non-value-adding activities, including transportation waste, unnecessary inventory, unnecessary motion, and defects. The production process is statistically stable based on the p-chart analysis, although several defects were identified, such as smeared screen printing, peeling screen printing, and uneven stitching. Improvement recommendations based on the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) include implementing 5S, increasing transportation capacity, and establishing a maintenance plan. The implementation of Lean Six Sigma improves Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) from 22.01% to 34.23%. Originality/Value This study offers practical evidence of how Lean Six Sigma tools, applied through the DMAIC cycle, can significantly enhance process cycle efficiency in T-shirt production. By combining VSM, control charts, and FMEA, it provides a comprehensive and data-driven analysis that delivers actionable insights for improving quality and operational performance in apparel manufacturing.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to assess the optimal performance of the administrative service system at Universitas Brawijaya Hospital by determining the appropriate number of service counters to improve waiting time efficiency and cost effectiveness. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employs a quantitative approach using a queuing system analysis method. Patient arrival and service time data were collected through six days of direct observation during peak hours. The analysis was conducted using POM-QM software with the (M/M/C):(FCFS/∞/∞) queue model. The evaluation focused on queue performance indicators and queue costs to determine the optimal number of service counters. Findings – The results show that operating three service counters is the optimal baseline based on queue cost efficiency. Although adding a fourth counter significantly reduces waiting time, the improvement is not proportional to the increase in queue costs. Therefore, a dynamic adjustment strategy for the number of open counters is recommended to manage patient surges while maintaining a balance between service efficiency and cost efficiency. Originality/Value This study provides a quantitative queue-based evaluation of hospital administrative services using the M/M/C model, offering evidence-based insights into determining the optimal number of service counters. The findings contribute a practical approach for balancing service efficiency and operational costs, supporting more adaptive and responsive hospital service management.

Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employs the Meta-SWOT approach by integrating the Resource-Based View (RBV) framework to analyze internal resources and capabilities, and the PESTEL framework to evaluate external environmental factors. Data were collected through questionnaires, document reviews, and interviews with nine informants, including company management and deputy editors-in-chief from three competing companies. The findings were further analyzed using the Grand Strategy Matrix to determine the company’s strategic position. Findings – The results indicate that Tugu Malang has twelve valuable resources and capabilities that are rare, difficult to imitate, and well-organized, including funding sources, organizational culture, workforce skills, customer satisfaction, technology investment, human resource development, quality control, legal compliance, employee retention, marketing media, pricing, and product variety. The PESTEL analysis identifies external opportunities and threats related to government support, political conditions, technological innovation, community engagement, economic instability, and regulatory changes. Based on the Grand Strategy Matrix, Tugu Malang is positioned in Quadrant I, indicating a strong strategic position. The recommended strategies include market penetration, market development, and product development. Originality/Value This research provides value by integrating the Meta-SWOT approach with RBV and PESTEL analyses to generate strategic insights specifically for online media in the Society 5.0 era, offering a structured framework that can guide similar digital media companies in navigating dynamic environmental challenges.
