EduInovasi: Journal of Basic Educational Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, the  Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in February and Agust. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education / Primary / MI / SD Teacher Education, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. The Journal kindly invites scientists, scholars, professionals, and researchers in the form of the contribution with articles to be published and disseminated through: the selection mechanism of the article, criticized by reviewer, and the editing process. Abstract

Adaptive performance behavior in the workforce has a big role for agencies and companies. Especially for workers who in many situational changes, namely teachers of children with special needs. The aim of this research is to find out whether self-efficacy training can improve adaptive performance behavior in teachers of children with special needs at SLB X. The research uses a quantitative approach with the type of experimental research. This research design uses a One Group Pre-Test Post-Test design. The data distribution technique used purposive sampling, namely to 20 teachers of children with special needs at SLB X. The data collection method used a questionnaire with likert scale. The research instrument used the Career Self Efficacy Sources Scale (CSESS) by Bandura (1977) and the Individual Adaptability Measure (I-ADAPT-M) by Marlow and Calarco (2016). The results show that self-efficacy training has an influence on increasing adaptive performance behavior in teachers of children with special needs at SLB X so the researcher’s hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) in improving junior high school students' English speaking ability. A case study of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung showed that students generally had positive perceptions of PBL. They felt that PBL made learning more interesting and encouraged them to participate more actively. The results showed improvements in self-confidence, vocabulary mastery, and ability to interact in English. However, students still faced challenges in terms of grammar and pronunciation mastery. This study concluded that PBL can be an effective approach to improving students' speaking ability, but it needs to be supported by additional activities to overcome existing obstacles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patriarchal culture reflected in the film Mulan (2020), focusing on how patriarchal power structures and gender norms affect the journey of the main character, Mulan. The main issue raised is gender inequality that appears in the film's narrative, where Mulan struggles to fight social restrictions that place women in traditional roles as wives and mothers. The method used is a qualitative approach with content analysis of the script and visual elements of the film to identify the representation of patriarchy in the story, characters, and symbolism. The results of the study show that the film depicts patriarchy through social expectations of women and Mulan's resistance to these gender roles, which ultimately conveys a message about gender equality and women's empowerment in fighting patriarchal norms.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of e-money and lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of students in Yogyakarta. The method used is quantitative correlational with a sample of 266 active students. Data were collected using scales for e-money, lifestyle, and consumptive behavior, and analyzed through regression analysis. The results show that lifestyle significantly influences students' consumptive behavior, while e-money does not have a significant effect. These findings indicate that although the use of e-money provides convenience, students' lifestyle plays a more dominant role in shaping their consumptive behavior. Other factors not covered in this study may also influence consumptive behavior.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between Self Esteem and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in Gen Z in East Java. Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is an individual's feeling when they feel afraid and worried about being left behind. FoMO is a very close relationship with psychological health and well-being. The FoMO phenomenon can affect anyone, especially Gen Z where this age is the age of searching for identity and all their activities are directly connected to social media. This study uses a descriptive and inferential quantitative approach with a simple regression analysis method. The subjects of this study were Gen Z in East Java aged 18-27 years who use social media with a sample of 120 people. Data were collected through an online survey via Google Forms that measured Self Esteem and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and distributed through social media. Data were analyzed using classical assumption tests and hypothesis tests in the form of simple regression analysis. the results of the study showed that there was a very significant influence between Self Esteem and Fear of Missing Out in Gen Z. This is indicated by the regression coefficient value of 459,000, which indicates that the higher the Self Esteem, the lower the FoMO so that Gen Z in East Java feels valuable and confident. this study still has shortcomings such as subjects that are not balanced between genders, not focusing on one social media, and research subjects that are still limited, therefore it is hoped that further research can improve the findings.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the concept of knowledge from an Islamic perspective based on Surah Al-Mujadalah, verse 11. The verse emphasizes that Allah will elevate the ranks of believers who possess knowledge. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a library research approach, analyzing various literatures, classical tafsir works, and scholars' perspectives to gain an in-depth understanding of the value of knowledge in Islam. The findings indicate that Surah Al-Mujadalah, verse 11 teaches the importance of knowledge as an element that elevates one's status in the sight of Allah, both spiritually and socially. The verse highlights the ethical value in social interactions, where believers and knowledgeable individuals are expected to display inclusiveness and respect for others. Additionally, Islam encourages the application of knowledge, as knowledge that is not practiced is considered futile and loses its blessings.

Abstract

This undergraduate thesis examines the pragmatic study of the figurative language used in the 2023 fiction novel Happy Place written by Emily Henry. The novel, set against the backdrop of a beautiful seaside town, explores themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery through the lives of Harriet and Wyn. As figurative language is an essential tool for evoking emotions and enriching a story, this research aims to explore how Emily Henry employs various figures of speech, such as metaphor, simile, hyperbole, and personification, to deepen the readers' connection with the characters and their experiences. The study focuses on two primary research inquires: (1) what are the meanings of figurative language found in “Happy Place” Novel by Emily Henry (2) What are the types of the figurative language found in “Happy Place” Novel by Emily Henry. The study aims to identify and describe the language styles in the movie using Perrine's (1982: 61) theory of figurative language, which classifies and explains the meanings of various figures of speech, this study systematically analyzes the textual examples. Furthermore, Abrams and Harpham (2009) theory is utilized to examine the types of figurative language that contain in the dialog or narrative found in the novel. The findings of the study indicate that figurative language in Happy Place serves not only as a stylistic device but also as a fundamental tool for emotional expression and character insight. Through metaphors and other figurative devices, Henry portrays the complexities of human relationships and personal growth, enabling readers to experience the characters’ inner worlds more vividly. The study concludes that figurative language enriches the narrative, deepens the thematic exploration of love and identity, and enhances the novel’s emotional impact.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Islamic development communication in the process of forming positive character for the Alpha generation in the digital era, as well as identifying strategies that can be implemented to maximize its impact in their daily lives. This method focuses on analyzing descriptive data in the form of a number of written words. The author uses a qualitative approach to analyze the focus of this research. The results of this research show that Islamic development communication has a very important role in shaping the positive character of the Alpha generation, especially in the digital era which is increasingly developing rapidly. In this context, Islamic development communication can be used as a strategic tool to instill positive values ​​in accordance with Islamic principles, such as morals, honesty, responsibility and empathy. By utilizing digital platforms that are popular among the Alpha generation, such as social media, applications and other digital content, Islamic messages that focus on character building can be conveyed in an interesting and relevant way. An effective communication approach, based on the principles of compassion, empowerment, and value-based education, can help direct the Alpha generation to face digital challenges wisely, and form individuals who have noble character and contribute positively to society. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran komunikasi pembangunan Islam dalam proses pembentukan karakter positif generasi Alpha di era digital, serta mengidentifikasi strategi yang dapat diterapkan untuk memaksimalkan dampaknya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari mereka. Metode ini menitikberatkan di analisis data deskriptif yang berupa sejumlah kata yang tertulis. Penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif guna menganalisa fokus penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan komunikasi pembangunan Islam memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam membentuk karakter positif generasi Alpha, khususnya di era digital yang semakin berkembang pesat. Dalam konteks ini, komunikasi pembangunan Islam dapat dijadikan sebagai alat strategis untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai positif yang sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip Islam, seperti akhlak, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, dan empati. Dengan memanfaatkan platform digital yang populer di kalangan generasi Alpha, seperti media sosial, aplikasi, dan konten digital lainnya, pesan-pesan Islam yang berfokus pada pembentukan karakter dapat disampaikan dengan cara yang menarik dan relevan. Pendekatan komunikasi yang efektif, berbasis pada prinsip kasih sayang, pemberdayaan, serta edukasi berbasis nilai, dapat membantu mengarahkan generasi Alpha untuk menghadapi tantangan digital dengan bijak, serta membentuk individu yang berakhlak mulia dan berkontribusi positif terhadap masyarakat.

Abstract

                Purchasing behavior can change when someone is under pressure or stress, especially when they are at a high level of stress or when experiencing academic burnout, this phenomenon is related to a person's stress level and their shopping behavior at a certain time. This study was conducted to determine the effect of academic burnout on student consumer behavior. Using a quantitative correlational research method. The subjects in this study were all active students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta with a sample of 150 people. The research data were analyzed using the classical assumption test and hypothesis test. the results of this study found that there was a very significant influence of academic burnout on student consumer behavior. This is indicated by a significance value of 0.010 which indicates that the higher the academic burnout, the higher the consumer behavior in students. . The weakness in this study is related to the sample that focuses only on the Special Region of Yogyakarta. so that further research is expected to use a wider sample.

Abstract

According to Piaget (1972) and Kohlberg (1981), adolescents' moral development is at the conventional stage, where they tend to follow moral values taught by authority or society. Therefore, effective learning strategies in achieving moral concepts in students in this age range must be relevant to their stage of moral development. Research by (Hasanah, 2018 Rahmawati & Santoso, 2019) shows that the application of appropriate learning models, such as moral reflection methods and value discussions, can improve students' understanding and appreciation of moral concepts.The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a library research method or literature study. This approach aims to understand the phenomenon in depth through the analysis of various literatures, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and other relevant documents. there are several approaches in the moral achievement model, namely the theoretical approach, practical approach, and reflective approach. With the application of this achievement model, it is expected that students can understand and absorb the moral values taught, apply religious teachings in their daily lives, and can become individuals who have good character, faith, and responsibility. Therefore, it is very important for educators to combine these three approaches in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education in order to create an effective and meaningful learning environment.
