EduInovasi: Journal of Basic Educational Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, the  Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in February and Agust. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education / Primary / MI / SD Teacher Education, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. The Journal kindly invites scientists, scholars, professionals, and researchers in the form of the contribution with articles to be published and disseminated through: the selection mechanism of the article, criticized by reviewer, and the editing process. Abstract

The collaborative role of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) is very important in addressing the potential risk of nuclear waste in the strategic area of North Natuna, which is passed by international shipping routes. This study was compiled using a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review technique, by analyzing national regulations, defense documents, and technical regulations from institutions such as BAPETEN, BRIN, and KLHK. The results of the study indicate that the TNI AL has the potential for a legal basis through Military Operations Other Than War (OMSP), but active involvement in nuclear waste management is not yet clearly stated in the technical regulations regarding nuclear power. Structural problems such as overlapping authority, lack of mitigation and identification infrastructure, and the lack of integration of regulations between ministerial and institutional sectors also hinder the effectiveness of this role. Increasing the role of the TNI AL in the surveillance and response system for the maritime environment requires policy harmonization and strengthening collaboration between agencies as an important part of the national maritime security system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Indonesian Marine Corps Base Facilities (Faslan Kormar) in supporting operational readiness and identify factors inhibiting its optimization. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted within the Indonesian Marine Corps Headquarters. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key personnel, observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that Faslan Kormar plays a vital role as a strategic enabler through three main functions: development of construction facilities, management of transportation service facilities, and management of land facilities. However, the implementation of these roles faces four main constraints: (1) suboptimal organizational structure under the Logistics Staff; (2) lack of clear centralized development; (3) limitations in human resources and budget; and (4) complicated bureaucratic procedures. The impact of this suboptimal performance includes hindered soldier training processes, reduced unit mobility and maneuverability, and budget inefficiencies that ultimately decrease operational readiness. The study recommends organizational transformation of Faslan Kormar into an independent Base Facilities Service (Disfaslan Kormar), followed by function consolidation, human resource strengthening, and bureaucratic simplification to create an effective force multiplier for the Indonesian Marine Corps' operational readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the theories and models of educational planning in the development of Islamic education through a literature review approach, focusing on how Islamic values can be integrated into educational management systems in the era of globalization and digitalization. This research employed a systematic literature review method by examining national and international scholarly sources published within the last five years that discuss theoretical, empirical, and policy aspects of Islamic educational planning. The findings indicate that Islamic educational planning is grounded in the principles of tawhid (oneness of God), amanah (trust), adl (justice), and maslahah (public interest) as moral and spiritual foundations in determining educational policies. Contemporary planning models, such as the rational-interactive model and the humanistic-Islamic planning model, strive to integrate modern managerial rationality with Islamic ethical values, enabling educational institutions to adapt to global changes without losing their Islamic identity. However, governance challenges—including limited infrastructure, human resource quality, resistance to innovation, and the tension between Islamic values and universal ethical standards—remain major obstacles. Therefore, a reconstruction of Islamic educational planning models that are ethically grounded, based on the principles of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, and responsive to technological and professional demands is essential for Islamic education to function as a moral and transformative force at the global level.

Abstract

This final project aims to visualize the distinctive characteristics of Rejang Lebong through the application of the Kaganga script in batik painting artworks. The creation of this work is motivated by the intention to preserve the Kaganga script, which has become less known to the public, and to introduce the cultural and natural richness of Rejang Lebong to younger generations. The creative process consists of five stages: preparation, elaboration, synthesis, realization, and completion. The artworks were created using primissima mori fabric measuring 50×45 cm, employing the batik painting technique with Remazol dyes through the colet method, and color fixation using waterglass to strengthen and preserve color durability. The final result consists of ten batik paintings depicting distinctive objects of Rejang Lebong such as the Rafflesia flower, Kibut flower, Danau Mas, traditional Rejang house, keris, Bukit Kaba, lemea, cerano, and traditional clothing, with the Kaganga script applied as supporting motifs and isen-isen to enhance the aesthetic value. These artworks implement visual elements and design principles such as line, form, color, texture, unity, balance, proportion, rhythm, and contrast, resulting in harmonious and visually appealing compositions. Through this work, it is expected that society will gain a deeper appreciation and awareness of Rejang Lebong’s local culture and the importance of preserving regional cultural heritage.

Abstract

Arabic language learning at the madrasah level still faces challenges, particularly in mastering numerical material among students. The lack of interactive and engaging media causes learners to be less motivated and to struggle with memorizing and using numbers in Arabic. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Snakes and Ladders game as an instructional medium in teaching Arabic numerals and to measure its effectiveness on students’ comprehension and learning motivation. The research subjects were 32 students of class 7B at MTs Negeri 2 Lamongan. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a participatory approach, involving stages of direct instruction, observation, documentation, and learning outcome evaluation. The Snakes and Ladders medium was contextually developed to include Arabic numbers from 1 to 100 and was played collaboratively in groups. The findings revealed that the application of this medium successfully created an active, enjoyable, and collaborative learning environment. Students showed improvements in recognizing and pronouncing Arabic numbers and demonstrated greater enthusiasm in class participation. The use of the Snakes and Ladders game in Arabic numeracy learning proved effective in enhancing students’ motivation, active participation, and understanding compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how negative politeness strategies are represented in language use, particularly through dialogue in educational resources, such as English textbooks for junior high school students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis to analyze and describe the collected data. The researchers adapted the politeness theoretical framework developed by Brown and Levinson (1987), focusing on the representation of negative politeness that emerged in the English textbook entitled “An Analysis of Negative Politeness Strategies in an English Textbook” published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The findings indicate that there are five sub-strategies realized in the textbook. They are question and hedge, be conventionally indirect, give deference, minimize the imposition, and be pessimistic. The dominant sub-strategy found was conventionally indirect. A strategy of negative politeness in which the speaker conveys a request or intention indirectly, usually through expressions that contain meanings beyond their literal meaning. This strategy aims to mitigate the potential for face-threatening actions, such as requests or orders, by employing socially acceptable forms of polite expression. Abstract

Deaf children often face challenges in emotional development due to communication barriers, which may lead to frustration and tantrum behaviors. This study aims to determine the role of early sign language use in the emotional development of Deaf children at The Little Hijabi Homeschooling. The research is expected to provide an in-depth understanding of how sign language serves as a medium for emotional regulation and supports the psychosocial development of Deaf children. This research employed a qualitative method within the framework of social constructivism. Data were collected through passive participatory observation, interviews with parents and teachers, and documentation at The Little Hijabi Homeschooling. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured using source triangulation and technique triangulation to confirm the accuracy of the findings. The results show that the early use of sign language plays a crucial role in the emotional development of Deaf children. Sign language serves as a foundation for children to express and manage emotions effectively, thereby reducing the frequency of tantrums and negative behaviors. Furthermore, communication skills through sign language were found to enhance children’s self-confidence and social engagement, helping them overcome feelings of inferiority and develop a sense of competence aligned with their developmental stage.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a common bacterial infection that frequently recurs in women, predominantly caused by Escherichia coli. The increasing antibiotic resistance has prompted the search for non-antibiotic preventive strategies, including the use of cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon). This narrative review aims to synthesize recent scientific evidence regarding the mechanisms of action and clinical efficacy of cranberry. The main biological mechanism involves inhibition of bacterial adhesion by Type-A proanthocyanidins (PACs), preventing E. coli from attaching to the bladder wall. Although in vitro studies consistently demonstrate this effect, clinical trials show heterogeneous outcomes. Some randomized controlled trials (RCTs) report significant reductions in recurrent UTIs among women and postoperative patients, while others find no statistical difference compared to placebo. These inconsistencies are largely due to variations in study design, PAC dosage, and patient compliance. Evidence consistently indicates that cranberry is ineffective for acute UTI treatment but may serve as a valid prophylactic strategy in selected high-risk populations using standardized products with sufficient PAC dosage.

Abstract

The practice of narrating almsgiving on social media also contains interesting ethical and social dimensions worth examining. On the one hand, almsgiving content on Instagram can serve as a means of preaching and inspiration, encouraging a spirit of sharing within the community. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the strategies used by content creators to narrate almsgiving as Instagram content. The research method adopted a qualitative approach. The findings indicate that content creators on the Instagram platform can employ strategies to narrate almsgiving, a form of religious-social communication. The Instagram account @sedekahsubuh.yib presents daily spirituality, while the account @kitabisacom emphasizes professionalism based on empathy. Both accounts, along with several others, share a creatively packaged message of kindness without diminishing its religious significance. The study described above reveals several strategies for narrating almsgiving on Instagram: personal narrative, spiritual narrative, and empathy narrative.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive PowerPoint-based learning media to improve the interest and understanding of Prathom 5 students in Tessaban 2 Ban Sadao, Thailand, specifically on the Foods and Drinks material. The Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model was used, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, pretests and posttests, and validation by three supervising teachers as material, media, and language experts. The results of the paired t-test showed a significant increase with an average posttest score of 80.5 compared to the pretest of 57, while expert validation strengthened the quality of the learning media. Several revisions were made to improve the material, design, and language to better suit student needs. The findings prove that this media is effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes. This research can be used as a reference for media development on other materials and various levels of education, as well as improving technological facilities to optimally support interactive learning.
