Horizon: Indonesian Journal of Multidisciplinary (HIJM) journal aims to stimulate discussions at all levels of mathematics education through disseminating significant and innovative scholarly studies that are of value to the international research communities. The journal welcomes articles focusing on all aspects of mathematics education including empirical, theoretical, methodological, and philosophical works that have a perspective wider than local or national interest. HIJM publishes only original scholarly works. Manuscripts that are indeed a derivative or replication/dublication (if there is not clear reason, justification) of previous work are not accepted and will not be published in HIJM. Abstract

This study aims to analyze user preferences and experiences regarding the Gold Installment service innovation at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Jepara Branch Office as a basis for formulating a service quality improvement strategy. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a field research method. Research informants consisted of bank management and customers who use the Gold Installment service. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results show that customer preferences in choosing the Gold Installment service are influenced by trust in the sharia label and murabahah contract as well as consideration of brand strength. Most customers tend to choose Antam Gold over BSI Gold because they consider liquidity and ease of transactions. From a user experience aspect, the BYOND by BSI digital application is considered to provide easy access to services, although there are still technical obstacles and limited education about the product. Based on these findings, the service quality improvement strategy is directed at optimizing digital features, strengthening product education, and accelerating the service process structurally.

Abstract

Simulation-Based Interprofessional Education (SB-IPE) has emerged as an effective learning strategy by providing collaborative simulation experiences. This study aimed to analyze the effect of SB-IPE on the interprofessional communication skills of students enrolled in the Diploma III Orthotics and Prosthetics and Diploma III Occupational Therapy programs. A quasi-experimental study employing a one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted with 20 students selected through total sampling. The intervention consisted of briefing sessions, simulation of post-stroke rehabilitation cases using the SBAR communication framework, and structured debriefing. Interprofessional communication skills were assessed using the Interprofessional Collaborator Assessment Rubric (ICAR) integrated with TeamSTEPPS indicators. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test with a significance level of 5%. The mean communication score increased from 82.35 ± 8.42 before the intervention to 103.25 ± 7.96 afterward, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.001). The greatest improvements were observed in respect for other professions and team coordination. These findings indicate that SB-IPE effectively enhances students' interprofessional communication skills and has strong potential for integration into health professions curricula to strengthen collaborative competencies and promote patient safety.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze civil society involvement in the implementation of ProKlim in Kayu Ara Permai Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with purposively selected informants, including the village government, ProKlim managers, community leaders, and residents involved in the program. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed interactively using the Miles and Huberman model based on Cohen and Uphoff's participation dimensions. The results showed that community participation in all stages of ProKlim varied in intensity. The strongest participation was found in the implementation and utilization stages of the results through mutual cooperation, reforestation, waste management, and mangrove conservation. Conversely, participation in decision-making and evaluation was still limited because these processes were dominated by the village government and program administrators. The participation quadrant analysis placed community involvement in the mobilization participation category, indicating high involvement in program implementation, but not yet accompanied by an equal role in planning and evaluation. These findings indicate that the success of ProKlim still depends on strengthening community participation mechanisms in decision-making and evaluation to achieve more sustainable empowerment.

Abstract

Evidence is the basis for judges in assessing facts and determining legal truth in resolving civil cases. Although General Courts and Religious Courts both use national civil procedural law, the characteristics of the Religious Courts' authority in handling cases of marriage, inheritance, and Islamic economics give rise to specificities in the application of evidence. This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences in the evidentiary systems in General Courts and Religious Courts and examine the challenges of evidence in the development of digital justice. The study uses normative legal methods with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. Primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials are obtained through literature studies and analyzed qualitatively through inventory, classification, interpretation, and comparison of legal norms. The results show that both judicial environments have similarities in the recognition of civil evidence based on national civil procedural law. The main findings indicate that differences in evidentiary practices lie more in the context of the application and assessment of evidence according to the characteristics of the case under the authority of each court. In addition, the development of e-Court, e-Litigation, and electronic evidence requires harmonization of evidentiary law to ensure legal certainty, justice, and the effectiveness of the judicial process.

Abstract

Alam Kitchen Restaurant in Tulungagung still uses a manual ordering and reservation process via telephone and WhatsApp, which causes risks of recording errors, service delays, and limitations in monitoring table availability in real time. This study aims to develop a website-based restaurant ordering and reservation information system and evaluate the feasibility of the resulting system. The study uses a Research and Development (R&D) method with a Feature Driven Development (FDD) approach that includes the stages of model design, feature identification, planning, design, and system feature development. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and literature studies to identify user needs. System evaluation was carried out through functional testing using Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on 40 respondents. The test results showed that all system features run according to functional requirements, while the UAT results obtained a feasibility percentage of 85.75% with the category "Very Feasible". These findings indicate that the developed system is able to support the ordering process, table reservations, payment transactions, and restaurant data management in a more structured manner and improve service effectiveness compared to the previous manual system

Abstract

The increasing use of social media as a source of information has changed the way parents obtain information and determine school choices, so that Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) has become one of the factors suspected of influencing these decisions. This study aims to analyze the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) on parents' decisions in choosing Darul Mahdiyah School in Tha Chamuang, Southern Thailand. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population was 820 parents, while a sample of 89 respondents was determined using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination (R²) test, and significance test with the help of IBM SPSS. The results showed that Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) had a positive and significant effect on parents' decisions in choosing schools with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), a regression coefficient of 0.966, and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.648. These findings indicate that information, experiences, and recommendations conveyed through social media contribute to building trust and influence parents' decisions in choosing educational institutions. This research provides empirical evidence on the importance of e-WOM-based digital communication strategies as an effort to improve the image and competitiveness of educational institutions in the digital age.

Abstract

The fact that students are still found to lack discipline and are not yet responsible for their obligations at Islamic boarding schools shows the importance of the role of administrators in strengthening the character of students. This study aims to describe the role of Islamic boarding school administrators in strengthening the character of discipline and responsibility and identify factors that support and hinder its implementation. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at the Al Mubarok Islamic Boarding School in Mranggen, Demak. The research subjects consisted of the head of the Islamic boarding school administrators, Islamic boarding school administrators, and female students who were selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was tested using source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the strengthening of discipline and responsibility is carried out through the stages of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action based on Thomas Lickona's theory which is implemented through habituation, role models, supervision, evaluation, and routine Islamic boarding school activities. Supporting factors include a structured development program, collaboration among administrators, and a conducive boarding school environment. These findings indicate that the active role of administrators contributes to strengthening the students' discipline and sense of responsibility

Abstract

The ability to perform the crescent kick is one of the basic techniques that determines the success of athletes in pencak silat, so an appropriate physical training program is needed to improve the quality of the movement. This study aims to analyze the effect of explosive leg and back muscle training on the ability to perform the crescent kick in extracurricular activities at SD Negeri 1 Baler Bale Agung. This study used an experimental method with a Two Groups Pretest–Posttest Design. A sample of 30 participants was selected through simple random sampling and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was given an explosive leg and back muscle training program for 12 meetings, while the control group was not given any special treatment. Data were obtained through a 30-second crescent kick ability test and analyzed using descriptive statistical tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, and independent samples t-tests. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a higher increase in crescent kick ability compared to the control group. This difference was proven to be statistically significant (p < 0.05), which indicates that explosive leg and back muscle training is effective in improving crescent kick ability. Thus, explosive strength training needs to be integrated into the pencak silat training program to improve the performance of students' basic techniques.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of application-based transportation has pushed online motorcycle-taxi driver-partners, including two-wheeled Gojek drivers, to work long hours in pursuit of order targets and bonuses, creating a risk of excessive workload that may reduce physical health status; quantitative evidence using a composite health measure among Gojek partners in Medan remains scarce. This study analyzed the association between workload level and physical health status among Gojek driver-partners in Medan City in 2025. An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted on 60 active two-wheeled Gojek driver-partners selected through accidental sampling; sample size was calculated using the Slovin formula. Workload was measured with the NASA-Task Load Index, and physical health status as a composite of work fatigue (IFRC) and musculoskeletal complaints (Nordic Body Map). Data were analyzed using a Cochran-Armitage trend test, Fisher's exact test, and Spearman's rank correlation. Most respondents (58.3%) experienced high workload and 45.0% had poor physical health status. Higher workload was significantly associated with poorer physical health status (trend test p=0.028; Spearman rho=0.39, 95% CI 0.15-0.59, p=0.002). Regulating working hours, scheduled rest breaks, and ergonomic education should be prioritized as preventive measures.

Abstract

The development of social media has encouraged businesses to utilize Instagram as a marketing communication tool, but its effectiveness in disseminating information and building relationships with consumers still needs to be studied. This study aims to describe the use of Instagram as a medium for disseminating information and promotion at Coffee Shop House of Musi. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Five research informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of Instagram account managers and Coffee Shop House of Musi consumers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analysis refers to the Uses and Gratifications theory. The results of the study indicate that Instagram is optimally utilized through structured content planning, delivering information about menus, promotions, and coffee shop activities, and utilizing interactive features that strengthen communication with consumers. Attractive visual content and consistent information increase trust and encourage consumer decisions to visit. This study concludes that Instagram plays a role as a promotional medium as well as an effective marketing communication tool. These findings provide practical implications for coffee shop managers in optimizing social media-based digital marketing strategies.
