Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence has entered classrooms faster than the verification habits required to use it safely. This study examines the mismatch between adoption, model reliability, and student verification behaviour, and derives a cognitive scaffold from an unexpected source: the deductive procedure of the fictional detective Hercule Poirot. A systematic literature review of studies published between 2021 and 2026 was combined with descriptive time-series analysis of sixty-one months of global relative search-volume data for four query strings. The search data show that interest in operating generative systems reached the normalised ceiling of the index, whereas interest in governing them within schools remained at the measurement floor, returning zero in fifty-five of sixty-one months. The reviewed literature converges on three findings: high adoption among students, persistent model hallucination on complex academic queries, and low rates of systematic cross-checking against primary sources. From this convergence the study derives a four- stage framework detailed observation, contradiction identification, alibi verification, and logical conclusion that repositions the chatbot as a witness under examination rather than an authority. The framework is conceptual and awaits empirical validation.

Abstract

Children with autism have impairments in their neurological system, which affect the development of both verbal and non-verbal communication and subsequently impact the learning methods applied to them. This poses a challenge for schools and teachers in providing appropriate methods. Learning must be provided to all children, including science, which requires complex understanding. Therefore, determining learning media or methods for science requires well-structured material division that adapts to the characteristics of children with autism so that learning can proceed optimally. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of animated video media in science learning for children with autism. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, employing participant observation and interviews as data collection techniques. The subjects of this study consist of two teachers, selected using purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that the application of animated video media in science learning for children with autism is able to increase children's interest in learning due to the combination and variation of colors, sounds, and images. Nevertheless, teachers also assessed that the application of animated video media would be more effective when taking into account the conditions and characteristics of each child with autism.

Abstract

structured adult learning process intended to improve parents’ understanding of child development and parenting practices. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that PKBM Tsurayya Flexischool regularly organizes parenting programs by inviting competent speakers from various relevant fields. These include child and family counselors who delivered material on healthy homes as the foundation of a strong generation, as well as Islamic academics who discussed the practice of positive affirmations within the family. The program was implemented interactively through discussions, question and answer sessions, and experience sharing, supported by policies that encouraged active parental participation. Program evaluation was conducted through observations of children’s development at school and direct communication with parents. However, the program still faced challenges related to inconsistent parental attendance due to work responsibilities and time limitations. To address this issue, the institution sought to maintain parents’ involvement through direct communication and personal approaches to better understand the obstacles they faced. These findings indicate that a structured parenting program does not merely function as a material delivery activity, but also serves as a learning and communication space between the institution and parents in supporting children’s development, although continuous institutional commitment and stronger community awareness are still needed to maintain its long term effectiveness.

Abstract

The increasing participation of women in the Indonesian workforce makes the double burden phenomenon increasingly relevant, particularly in nuclear families where mothers simultaneously fulfill public and domestic roles. This study aims to describe the adaptation process of children with double burden mothers and identify the challenges they face from a gender perspective. This study used a qualitative case study approach with nine informants from three nuclear families in Tlogowaru Village, Malang City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of this study indicate that children's adaptation occurs through four interrelated dimensions: cognitive, emotional, social, and independence, mapped into the honeymoon, crisis, recovery, and adjustment stages. This process is inseparable from informal learning within the family and the transmission of patriarchal gender values, which have the potential to produce a cycle of double burden in the next generation. This study contributes to the study of non-formal education by demonstrating that double burden mothers provide a rich informal learning space and that non-formal education programs such as parenting education can play a strategic role in supporting families in managing this phenomenon.

Abstract

Final-year students completing their theses are vulnerable to academic burnout, a condition of prolonged stress characterized by emotional exhaustion, cynical attitudes toward tasks, and personal inadequacy. Preliminary studies indicate that this burnout is triggered not only by task load but also by negative automatic thoughts such as fear of failure. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Group Counseling (CBGC) in reducing academic burnout among Guidance and Counseling students at Malang State University. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. Six students were selected through purposive sampling based on high burnout scores, age 18–25 years, and willingness to participate. The instrument used was the Indonesian version of the School Burnout Inventory (SBI) with item validity ranging from 0.550 to 0.743 and Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.771. The CBGC intervention was delivered in six sessions integrating group development stages with cognitive restructuring techniques. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test. Results showed decreased academic burnout scores in all subjects, with pretest mean 36.50 (high category) decreasing to 22.67 (moderate category) in posttest. The Wilcoxon test yielded Z = -2.232 with p = 0.026 (p < 0.05). Effect size calculation showed r = 0.911 > 0.50, categorized as large effect. The greatest reduction occurred in exhaustion, followed by cynicism and personal inadequacy. Thus, CBGC proved effective in reducing academic burnout among final-semester students.

Abstract

Intrinsic motivation plays an important role in encouraging students’ engagement and persistence during the learning process. This study aims to describe the forms and factors reflecting the intrinsic motivation of fifth-grade students at UPT Satuan Pendidikan SDN 01 Karangtengah. A qualitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed. The participants consisted of a fifth-grade teacher and eight students purposively selected based on variations in their learning engagement characteristics. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity was examined through technique and source triangulation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings identified three main factors reflecting students’ intrinsic motivation: the desire to succeed, internal drive and learning needs, and hopes and future aspirations. Intrinsic motivation was reflected in students’ active participation in learning, persistence in completing tasks, willingness to face learning challenges, and awareness of the benefits of learning for personal development and future goals. Teacher support and a positive learning environment also contributed to facilitating the development of students’ internal motivation. These findings highlight the importance of meaningful and challenging learning experiences that provide opportunities for students to develop learning autonomy and personal goals. Thus, strengthening intrinsic motivation requires learning experiences that encourage active participation, persistence, independence, and awareness of personal goals.

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairments in communication, social interaction, and restricted or repetitive patterns of behavior. The global prevalence of ASD continues to rise, with the World Health Organization estimating that 1 in 100 children worldwide is diagnosed with ASD, while in Indonesia approximately 2.4 million children are affected. This condition necessitates specially designed tutoring services supported by truly conducive learning environments. Children with ASD experience differences in sensory processing that directly impact their ability to access instructional content, making the arrangement of physical learning environments including lighting, noise levels, spatial layout, and visual supports an indispensable aspect of their educational provision. This study aims to provide an in-depth description of the conducive learning environment arrangement in tutoring sessions for children with autism at SLB Yayasan Putra Pancasila, Malang City, covering: (1) the physical arrangement of the learning space, (2) the learning atmosphere and patterns of instructional interaction between teachers and children with autism, and (3) the forms of environmental support provided by both teachers and parents. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach aimed at understanding and explaining the phenomenon in depth based on real-world conditions. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects were selected using purposive sampling, comprising children with ASD enrolled in tutoring sessions, supervising teachers or therapists, and parents who support their children's learning at home. Data analysis followed the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the tutoring room features a discernible separation between the learning area and a calming corner for self-regulation, although limited physical space constrains ideal zone delineation. Lighting relies primarily on natural daylight through windows with adequate brightness, yet becomes inconsistent on overcast days. In terms of acoustics, no dedicated sound-dampening materials are present, resulting in considerable external noise penetrating the room; several students were observed covering their ears in response to auditory hypersensitivity. Classroom walls are covered with students' artwork, which risks creating an overly cluttered visual environment for children with ASD. Seating arrangements place teachers and students face-to-face at close proximity to sustain children's attention. Instructional sessions follow a clear routine: each session opens with a greeting, proceeds to the main activity, and concludes with a closing greeting. Instructions are delivered concisely and simply, combining verbal and non-verbal communication, accompanied by immediate verbal praise as positive reinforcement. The calming corner proved effective as a regulatory response when children experienced overstimulation. Teacher–parent collaboration was found to be irregular, occurring primarily during report-card distribution and occasionally via WhatsApp messaging, resulting in suboptimal consistency between school and home learning environments. The school also lacked collaboration with occupational or speech therapists, while an insufficient teacher-to-student ratio placed additional strain on individualized support for children with ASD.
