Abstract

Learning for children with intellectual disabilities using the cooperative learning method in inclusive elementary schools. The main questions in this study are: (1) What are the problems faced by students with intellectual disabilities in interacting social interactions with their environment?; (2)What is the role of the cooperative learning model for students with intellectual disabilities? This study aims to examine the role of the cooperative learning model in improving the social and academic abilities of children with intellectual disabilities in inclusive elementary schools. The method used in this research is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing several joulnals and articles relevant to the research questions and topics. The result show that students with intellectual disabilities face obstacles in social interaction due to intellectual limitations, lack of environmental support, and low motivation and attention from parents. The cooperative learning model has proven effective for students with intellectual disabilities because it promotes collaboration among students, increases learning engagement, and enhances social and emotional skills. Through heterogeneous group work, students with intellectual disabilities can learn to interact, help one anoter, and build self-confidence. Therefore, implementing the cooperative learning model in inclusive elementary schools plays an important role in supporting a learning environment that is inclusive, adaptive, and respectful of individual differences in students’ abilities.

Abstract

Career exploration is a crucial process in adolescents’ career development as it helps individuals understand their personal characteristics and obtain information about various educational and career alternatives. This study aims to describe the career exploration skills of students living in the dormitories at SMAK Santo Albertus (Dempo) in Malang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive survey design. The study sample consisted of 183 boarding school students aged 14–17 years, comprising 96 males and 87 females. Data were collected using a career exploration ability scale in the form of closed-ended statements with a Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including minimum, maximum, mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage. The results showed that career exploration ability scores ranged from 61 to 95, with a mean of 79.12 and a standard deviation of 7.58. A total of 133 students (72.68%) fell into the moderate category, 26 students (14.21%) into the low category, and 24 students (13.11%) into the high category. The findings indicate that most students already possess career exploration skills, but these have not yet developed optimally. The research results imply the importance of career guidance and counseling services that strengthen students’ self-exploration, career information search, and future planning.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used in elementary education, yet its adoption may differ between teachers and students and may depend on school leadership. This study examined the effect of principals’ transformational leadership on teachers’ and students’ adoption of AI technology, with teachers’ adoption tested as a mediating variable. A quantitative causal-associative design was used. Participants were 37 fourth- and fifth-grade teachers and 235 students from seven elementary schools in Jatisampurna District, Bekasi City, Indonesia. Data were collected through four-point Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Hayes PROCESS Model 4 with 5,000 bootstrap samples. Student scores were aggregated by teacher for the mediation analysis (n = 37). Transformational leadership, teachers’ AI adoption, and students’ AI adoption were all rated positively. Transformational leadership significantly predicted teachers’ AI adoption (b = 0.9462, p < .001), explaining 76.85% of its variance. However, transformational leadership did not significantly predict students’ adoption, teachers’ adoption did not significantly predict students’ adoption, and the indirect effect was not significant. The findings indicate that leadership can strengthen teachers’ AI use, but student a

Abstract

Inclusive education provides equal learning opportunities for all students by accommodating diverse characteristics and learning needs within the same educational environment. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of inclusive education, focusing on teacher competencies and the availability of professional support at SDN 2 Sananwetan. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in Class 5A. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with the homeroom teacher, and analysis of school documents related to student services and needs identification. The data were analyzed thematically through data organization, coding, pattern grouping, and theme identification. The findings showed that students with special needs participated in regular classrooms alongside their peers, reflecting the school’s commitment to inclusive education. However, implementation remained constrained by limited teacher training, the absence of Special Education Support Teachers (SEST), insufficient support from Disability Service Centers (DSC), and limited adaptation of instruction to individual learning needs. These conditions increased classroom teachers’ responsibility for managing inclusive learning. The study concludes that teacher competencies and professional support are closely interconnected in determining the effectiveness of inclusive education. Strengthening continuous teacher training, expanding professional support, enhancing collaboration with DSCs, and promoting adaptive learning practices are essential for improving inclusive education.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the influence of the family environment on the development of children with intellectual disabilities by reviewing the latest literature from the past five years. The family environment is a fundamental aspect in shaping the cognitive, social, and emotional aspects of children with intellectual disabilities who require special intervention. The research method used a systematic literature review (SLR) with a selection process from various national and international journal databases that met the inclusion criteria. A total of 12 selected scientific articles were analyzed to identify the main family factors that impact the development of children with intellectual disabilities, including emotional support, parenting styles, socioeconomic conditions, and levels of parenting stress. The review findings indicate that a warm and supportive family environment significantly contributes to enhancing the independence, social skills, and psychological well-being of children with intellectual disabilities. Conversely, high levels of parenting stress and limited family social support represent significant barriers to child development. This study emphasizes the importance of the family’s role in designing holistic interventions and adaptive parenting strategies to support the optimal development of children with intellectual disabilities. The implications of the research findings can serve as a reference for practitioners, educators, and policymakers in improving the quality of life for children with special needs

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low consistency of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHB) implementation among parents of toddlers and the elderly, despite various health education activities having been implemented. The one-way education method results in less than optimal participant participation, necessitating a more participatory and contextual learning approach. This study aims to describe the implementation of PHBS education through an andragogical approach in the Toddler Family Development (BKB) and Family Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) activities in Tegalsari and Genteng Districts, Surabaya City. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the andragogical approach was able to increase participant engagement through discussions, questions and answers, and sharing experiences relevant to daily life. Participants became more active, enthusiastic, and easily understood PHBS material because the learning was tailored to health needs. The education activities also encouraged behavioral changes such as habits of maintaining personal hygiene, healthy eating patterns, and the implementation of healthy lifestyles within the family. Thus, the andragogical approach is considered effective in supporting PHBS education in community-based non-formal education.

Abstract

Educational facilities and infrastructure are essential components in creating a safe, comfortable, and effective learning environment. This study aims to describe the condition and utilisation of educational facilities and infrastructure, identify challenges in their management and maintenance, and analyse development priorities at SDN 1 Kademangan. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews with the headteacher, facilities managers, and class teachers, as well as documentation. Data analysis involved data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while validity was ensured through source and methodological triangulation. The findings show that SDN 1 Kademangan has adequate basic facilities, including classrooms, a library, health and sanitation facilities, sports facilities, and educational technology. These facilities generally support learning, although their condition and utilisation vary. The library lacks digital services and specialised management, while technological equipment such as computers, projectors, and smart TVs is not evenly distributed and requires improved teacher competence for effective use. The school also lacks sufficient disability-friendly facilities, limiting accessibility for inclusive education. Challenges in facilities management include inventory administration, regular maintenance, and prioritising development within limited resources. The study concludes that the effectiveness of educational facilities depends not only on their availability but also on accessibility, utilisation, user competence, and sustainable management. Therefore, infrastructure development should prioritise improving basic facilities, expanding equitable access to educational technology, optimising library services, enhancing accessibility for all learners, and implementing a systematic maintenance programme to better support the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Communication is a central component of learning for deaf students because limited access to auditory information can affect the acquisition and use of spoken language. This article describes the implementation of the Indonesian Sign System (SIBI) combined with picture flashcards to support communication skills in a fourth-grade deaf student at SLB ABD Negeri Kedungkandang. The article uses a descriptive approach based on the implementation of a learning plan, with observation, simple question-and-answer activities, and documentation of learning performance as the main sources of information. The learning activities focused on recognizing objects in the surrounding environment, matching pictures with words, imitating SIBI signs, arranging word cards, and communicating simple meanings. The implementation showed positive development in the student's ability to follow instructions, recognize and match vocabulary, express object names through SIBI, arrange simple words into meaningful sequences, and participate actively in classroom interaction. The combination of visual media, SIBI, repetition, direct practice, and positive reinforcement supported the student's academic, communicative, social, and independent learning skills. The findings indicate that communication-oriented and visually accessible instruction can provide meaningful support for deaf students when activities are adapted to their abilities and learning needs.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbots opens significant opportunities in supporting personalized learning, aligned with the mandate of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Regulation No. 13 of 2025 regarding curriculum flexibility. However, a gap remains between students' digital independence and teachers' ability to implement differentiated learning conventionally. This research aims to identify the role of key factors supporting the utilization of AI Chatbots as a facilitator of personalized learning among high school students in Malang City. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method involving 100 students selected through cluster random sampling from SMA Negeri 8 and SMA Nasional Malang. Data were collected using a structured Likert scale questionnaire to measure seven main factors: content relevance, effectiveness, learning styles, flexibility, efficiency, engagement, and learning motivation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to determine the frequency distribution percentage and score categorization. The results indicated that all these factors play a positive role in supporting personalized learning. Flexibility emerged as the most dominant aspect, while engagement was in the moderate category. These findings confirm that the successful implementation of AI Chatbots depends not only on technological sophistication but also on pedagogical suitability and students' adaptive readiness.
