Abstract

The PKK RT 017 group is pioneering productive activities in the form of a joint business of making mini pastel cookies and onde ketawa. The production is branded “Seruni17” in accordance with the name of the PKK dasawisma. The problem faced by this business group is that the quality of production is not good and there is no business feasibility analysis underlying the running of the business. Therefore, the purpose of this PkM activity is to assist partners in improving product quality and making business feasibility calculations. To achieve these objectives, the implementation team conducted training in the form of cooking classes and training on assessing business feasibility using the Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C ratio) formula. Training activities were carried out using lecture, question and answer and practice methods. In general, the PkM activities carried out have given positive and significant results to the PkM activities. The results achieved by the participants can be seen from the better quality of the products, and the feasibility of the business being run. Based on the B/C Ratio method, the results show that the business is economically feasible.

Abstract

In adolescent girls, the need for iron increases because they experience regular menstruation/menstruation which releases a certain amount of iron every month. The increase in the need for total blood volume is often not followed by adequate iron consumption, especially when entering adolescence, girls tend to want to have a slimmer body, so they often make various efforts, including going on a strict diet. Based on data from the 2022 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the prevalence of Stunting in Toddlers in Tabanan Regency is still above the prevalence of Stunting in Bali Province (8.0%) while Tabanan Regency is 8.2%. With the nutritional counseling that has been carried out, it has not been enough to increase knowledge and especially the attitudes of adolescents towards the risk factors for stunting, therefore the community service will conduct a Skills Improvement Training for Adolescent Posyandu Cadres in preventing Anemia and Stunting with Balanced Nutrition in Tunjuk Village, Tabanan District. The prioritized solution is to carry out Skills Improvement Training for Adolescent Posyandu Cadres in preventing Anemia and Stunting with Balanced Nutrition in Tunjuk Village, Tabanan District by providing training. The method used to achieve the objectives of this community service is to carry out training which is carried out for 2 days on 50 adolescent Posyandu Cadres. This community service activity was carried out in Tunjuk Village, Tabanan District, Tabanan Regency from July to October 2024. There was a significant increase in the knowledge, attitudes and skills of adolescent posyandu cadres in preventing anemia and Stunting with Balanced Nutrition.

Abstract

In the modern era, environmental issues have become a global concern, with waste management emerging as one of the primary focuses. This research aims to analyze the role of communication campaigns in public education to enhance students' participation in recycling activities. The study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with a case study method to explore how communication campaigns can shape awareness, attitudes, and behaviors toward recycling. The findings indicate that effective communication campaigns, incorporating the use of social media, direct outreach, and collaboration with local communities, significantly improve students' understanding of the importance of recycling and motivate them to participate actively. Furthermore, the study reveals that recycling participation increases when communication campaigns are tailored to the local context and involve active student engagement. Consequently, the research concludes that public education through communication campaigns is a crucial strategy for enhancing recycling participation and contributing to environmental preservation, particularly at UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. The implications of these findings highlight the need for more focused and sustainable communication campaigns to maximize the impact of public education on recycling participation.

Abstract

The implementation of clean and healthy living behavior in schools is still low because there is still a lack of socialization regarding the benefits and risks of not implementing clean and healthy living behavior in everyday life. Due to the low socialization of clean and healthy living behavior, the willingness of students to implement it is also low, which results in disrupted school community health. PHBS is an effort to provide learning experiences for individuals, families, groups, and communities by opening communication channels, providing information, and providing education to improve knowledge, attitudes, and behavior, through a leadership approach (advocacy), fostering an atmosphere (social support), and community empowerment (empowerment) so that they can implement healthy living methods, to maintain, preserve and improve public health (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2011). Community service in the form of counseling aims to increase students' knowledge of how to increase individual awareness in carrying out clean and healthy daily living behavior in children, especially students of SMP Negeri No. 2 Tapaktuan, South Aceh Regency. The activity method starts with a survey of the counseling location at SMPN 2 Tapaktuan, making counseling materials and implementing counseling. The implementation is before providing education about PHBS, the team of community service lecturers first conducted socialization then gave a pre-test by the community service team and the following stage provided education about PHBS in schools. The results of the pre-test scores from student knowledge with a good category of 20 (50%) and from the implementation of PHBS 25 (62.5%) answered (Yes), and after education, the post-test score for knowledge was 33 (82.5%), the implementation of PHBS 35 (87.5%). This figure is large enough to say that this activity was successful, but there are still students who have not met good scores. And then after the counseling is carried out, this activity will be used as a community service report to carry out the Tridharma of Higher Education. The Community Service Report, in addition to being for publication, is also expected to be a source of information for the target achievement, namely students of SMP Negeri No. 2 Tapaktuan, South Aceh Regency, about implementing clean and healthy living behaviors in everyday life.

Abstract

The program "Exploring Talent and Interests through the Hope Foundation and the University of Medan Area" was created to address the challenges faced by students in identifying their potential and determining appropriate career paths. Many students struggle to recognize their interests and talents, making it difficult to choose between continuing education, entering the workforce, or becoming entrepreneurs after graduation. This issue underscores the need for structured guidance and support. The program, collaboration between the Hope Foundation, known for its focus on community empowerment, and the University of Medan Area, aims to provide students with a clear framework to explore and develop their talents. Through workshops, mentoring, and personalized feedback, students gain the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their future. Quantitative data were collected through post-program surveys assessing participants' confidence levels, awareness of their skills, and preparedness for future career paths. Participants rated their experiences on a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5, measuring aspects such as clarity in career direction and engagement with personal interests. Results from the program demonstrate that participants experienced increased confidence in recognizing their abilities and showed greater preparedness for professional and societal contributions. The combination of group discussions, aptitude tests, and mentor evaluations allowed students to objectively measure their progress. The program successfully provided a comprehensive approach to self-development, promoting stronger engagement with individual interests and talents.
