The rapid growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia, with 64.2 million businesses employing 97% of the workforce by 2021, has intensified competition, necessitating enhanced management strategies. This study focuses on the Bandung region, which boasts the highest number of SMEs in West Java. To maintain quality and competitiveness, SMEs are encouraged to adopt Total Quality Management (TQM). TQM is a commitment to delivering the best to customers, emphasizing continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This community engagement project employed the Discovery Learning Model and Problem-Based Learning, using a digital module on Total Quality Management. The engagement involved 20 'Aisyiyah Women Entrepreneurs, primarily from Bandung. The sessions stimulated active discussion and highlighted the importance of TQM for SMEs. Challenges were identified, notably the adoption of digitalization among Generation X employees. The project emphasizes that TQM is vital for SME development, particularly in human resource management. Moreover, the learning model used encourages active participation and discussion, enabling participants to share real challenges faced by SMEs. Acknowledging the significance of TQM, this project aims to equip SMEs with the tools needed to thrive in the highly competitive landscape, setting the stage for their sustainable growth and success.

Abstract

Indonesian education has implemented various curricula that have undergone improvements with each change. Currently, there is an independent curriculum designed to provide opportunities for teachers to develop teaching materials by taking into account the character, interests and talents of students. The independent curriculum has begun to be implemented in Lhokseumawe city junior high schools, but in reality this implementation is not accompanied by socialization and training related to the preparing of learning tools. This results in the teaching and learning process that occurs not in accordance with the system intended by the independent curriculum. Teachers need assistance in order to prepare learning tools so that the objectives  of the independent curriculum can be achieved. One of the alternatives that can be done to overcome this problem is to conduct socialization and training in preparation of learning tools adapted to the independent curriculum for MGMP junior high School teachers in Lhokseumawe City. The purpose of this service is so that teachers, especially junior high school mathematics teachers in Lhokseumawe city who are members of MGMP, can prepare learning tools in accordance with the independent curriculum. The method used in this service is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), where in this activity participants actively participate in the entire process carried out from the initial stage to the final stage. Overall, the stages of activities carried out in this service in the form of training in the preparation of independent curriculum learning tools consist of four stages, namely the planning stage, preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. The results of this service are in the form of learning tool documents that are in accordance with the objectives contained in the independent curriculum and the satisfaction survey of training participants. Based on the results obtained from 57 respondentsit is known that the level of participant satisfaction with quality of the material presented was 90.35%.As for the aspect of the speaker, the level of satisfaction of the training participants obtained was 86.67%

Abstract

Kaliasem Hamlet is one of the hamlets in Kalipare Village, Malang Regency that is experiencing problems with the absence of environmentally friendly coconut fiber waste processing facilities, the local community only utilizes coconut fiber for burning media as a substitute for charcoal. This condition results in the accumulation of coir waste around people's homes and farmers' gardens, whereas in fact this waste can be managed sustainably so that it can be reused and can also provide added value economically. Some of the advantages of coconut fiber are that it has ten times higher water absorption capacity than soil, increases oxygen circulation for plant roots, contains nutrients, potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, boron, and zinc. The approach method used in this community service is socialization, counseling, training, and evaluation to the community of Kaliasem Hamlet, which involves all housewives of Kaliasem Hamlet. With these methods, it allows the villagers to share, improve and analyze their knowledge about the condition and life of the village, make plans and act. This service activity provides a solution to the partner's problem, namely by training and mentoring farming community groups, besides that the community knows and recognizes the processing of coconut fiber into cocopeat as a hydroponic planting medium. Besides being able to increase income, it can also meet nutritional needs from cultivated organic vegetables and create an environmentally conscious community through waste that can be processed more optimally.

Abstract

This community service initiative in Dringu Village, Indonesia, responds to the pressing plastic waste predicament exacerbated by population growth and challenges in reducing plastic dependence. The village, rich in natural resources, faces environmental threats and significant floods due to waste accumulation, impacting social and economic structures. The program's objectives center around implementing the ecobrick method to train and mentor residents, enhance practical skills in plastic waste management, and economically empower the community by viewing plastic waste as a resource for potential business opportunities. Employing a Community-Based Participatory Research approach, the initiative actively involves the community in issue identification through dialogues, fostering local capacity to independently tackle the plastic waste problem. Key participants include cadre members, PKK, and village officials, forming a robust framework for comprehensive and sustainable plastic waste management. The meticulous preparation by participants involved sorting waste, creating ecobricks by filling plastic bottles with small-cut plastic waste, and adding an aesthetic touch through green painting. Plywood pieces complemented the design, forming a two-level shoe rack. This innovative product not only addresses plastic waste but also presents economic opportunities for the community, fostering self-sufficiency and overall well-being
