Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by several things. First, the number of students who use sarcastic language style, both on social media and in daily life. Second, students' impoliteness in communicating in the school environment, with colleagues, class seniors, and teachers. Third, students begin to have difficulty distinguishing the placement of language use, which language can be used in formal or informal situations. Fourth, many students are not able to filter information properly so some of them spread false information (hoaxes) and hate speech. Based on these reasons, training is needed that aims to improve students' understanding of various languages in an effort to prevent hate speech. The method used in this community service is the lecture, training, and dialogical method. The lecture method is used to convey material related to filtering information and using good language in social media. The training method is carried out by involving participants directly to identify and correct sentences that are not in accordance with norms and violate the ITE Law. Meanwhile, the dialogical method was applied in overcoming the problems experienced by the participants during the training. The targets in this training are students of SMAN 2 Dewantara. The benefit of this training is to increase students' understanding of various languages as an effort to prevent hate speech. Not only that, students will be more familiar with the ITE Law and be wiser in using language on social media.

Abstract

TRANSPOT cultivation is the cultivation of vegetable plants in pots, which because it has several advantages including the use of narrow yards or yards, serves as a provision for vegetable plants, is easy to move without damaging the plants and can adjust the harvest period. TRANSPOT (Planting Vegetables in Pots) is one of the solutions for optimizing narrow yards to increase food security and the family economy carried out in Gampong Baroh Langsa Lama, located in Langsa Lama District. Service partners are housewives in Baroh Langsa Lama village/gampong. One of the partner's problems is the lack of partner skills and knowledge in utilizing the yard. By equipping partners with the skills to use the yard, they will be able to bring benefits, besides meeting the family's food needs, they are also able to increase family income. Growing vegetable plants in sustainable pots includes the use of narrow yards to become creative and innovative TRANSPOTs, such as taboo lampot vegetables, taboo lampot fruits, and green environmental innovations. This activity of planting vegetables using pot media has a positive impact on the availability of independent food for each family, besides that this activity can also be a source of family economic income and assist the government in providing healthy food sources for the community. Vegetable plants in pots are expected to be a solution to increase the community's economy

Abstract

The difficulty with capture fisheries operations is the lack of protection against the crew of fishing vessels, particularly those who work on foreign fishing ships. Uncertainty regarding compensation and working hours, the amount of unprocedural recruitments, a lack of proper pre-ship training, and other abuses of migrant rights are all common issues for migrant fisherman. Several fishermen from Palabuhanratu, West Java, who worked as crew members on migrant fishing vessels were unfamiliar with the different rules governing their rights and responsibilities while aboard foreign ships. To accomplish so, the regulations governing the protection of migrant fishing vessels must socialized. Abstract

The large demand for catfish consumption is the main goal of catfish cultivation in Paya Bujok Seuleumak Village to improve the economy of the village community. The location is also very supportive for fish cultivation because the location distance is not too far from the city and the people are creative in entrepreneurship. The problems that are often faced by cultivator is pond waterflow when entering the rainy season due to an increase in water discharge. This situation caused many fish come out of the pond. Besides, fish feed residue and fish waste can also interfere with pond water quality that trigger many fish die which can cause harvest failure. The solution offered is implementing a gravity system pool tarpaulin drain which can maintain pool water discharge and pool water quality, so that it can keep fish in the pond and stay healthy if there is an increase in pool water discharge. The output target to be achieved are article publication in the National Journal, publication in online and print mass media, products of a gravity system pool tarpaulin drain device and HaKI. There are also additional outputs in the form of increasing fish yields and improving the economy of the communities. The service activity plan consists of coordinating with cultivator, socialization, training on the application of the tarpaulin drain gravity pool system, as well as mentoring and monitoring of the activities carried out.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in two-year-old babies due to chronic malnutrition. A short height characterizes babies experiencing stunting compared to other babies their age. One of the districts in Aceh Province with high stunting cases is Simuelue, with a prevalence reaching 35.7% in 2017. Various factors influence stunting, including nutrition and food quality. This service activity aims to increase public knowledge about the diversification of processed fish products and increase interest in eating fish, contributing to reducing stunting. The activity was carried out in two stages. The first is a campaign to enjoy eating fish using the socialization method. The campaign begins with socializing material about the benefits of eating fish, and introducing the types of fish. This activity ended with distributing processed fish meat products, namely nuggets. The second stage is the diversification of processing products using the workshop method. The workshop begins with explaining the steps for making a product, and then participants are divided into groups and make the product with their group. At each stage of the activity, a pre-test and post-test are given. The post-test results showed that understanding of product diversification and popularity increased after this activity.

Abstract

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the freshwater fish commodities in Indonesia. In aquaculture, Nile tilapia often uncontrolled spawning, leading to inhibited growth, varied harvest sizes, and prolonged harvesting time to achieve the target production size of >250 g/fish. Application of sex reversal on larval stages (1-2 weeks old) and the sorting of Nile tilapia fingerlings (1-2 months old) are efforts that can be undertaken to address these issues. However, generally, the fish farming community in Tulo Rantea Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, lacks a detailed understanding of the implementation of these technologies. The aim is to facilitate local community in applying the conveyed technology to contribute improvement of local economy. Simulation of the sex reversal method on larvae is conducted using a honey solution at a dosage of 10 mL/L of medium. Meanwhile, the sorting simulation employs a methylene blue solution. Implementation of these activities proceeds smoothly, and enthusiasm of community is notably high. In conclusion, the technology transfer, particularly in preventing uncontrolled spawning in Nile tilapia cultivation to expedite the harvest time, proves effective through simulation. This allows the community to easily understand and apply methods.

Abstract

The increase in the amount of household waste along with the increasing population in an area is a major problem in the community. Vegetable waste is the biggest contributor to household waste. Processing vegetable waste into liquid organic fertilizer is one solution to this problem. Lamceu Village is located in Kuta Baro District, Aceh Besar Regency which has a large population, and most of the residents make a living as farmers. This is the basis for choosing the location for community service activities. The Community Service (PkM) group team consisting of several lecturers assisted by several students conducted a survey and analysis of the situation in the village so that problems in the village could be identified. The survey results show the problems faced by the community, namely the low knowledge of the community about household waste processing, especially vegetable waste waste. The solution to the problems faced by the community is to provide knowledge of the process of making liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from mustard vegetable waste. This Community Service activity aims to socialize the community to be able to improve knowledge and skills through the processing of mustard vegetable waste as a basic material for the manufacture of Liquid organic fertilizer (POC) in Lamceu village. The result of this community service activity is that the community has understood and known the process of making liquid organic fertilizer from mustard vegetable waste and is able to practice it so that it can be applied as fertilizer for plants in the yard and on agricultural land.
