Abstract

One of the problems that occurs among students from low socio-economic status is a lack of self-confidence, such as feeling inferior in social interactions with others, being embarrassed about being asked to appear in front of the class, being afraid of making mistakes and being ridiculed by friends, this can have an impact on psychological conditions. students in terms of interactions in everyday life. This research method uses literature studies with the aim of research to determine the extent of self-confidence of students from low socio-economic status. The research results show that low socio-economic status is not the main factor in students' lack of self-confidence with the existence of supporting factors such as the poor Student Assistance Program (BSM), individual counseling guidance and self-concept making the self-confidence of students from low socio-economic status equivalent to the self-confidence of students from high socioeconomic status.

Abstract

This study concentrates on implementing the traditional Engkle game method to enhance learning motivation among second-grade students at SDN Bojong Kacor 3 Bandung, aiming to leverage game elements in mathematics instruction on the topic of length units. The choice of this topic is justified by the potential of game-based methods to serve as an effective strategy for increasing student engagement and motivation, particularly in mathematics, which is often perceived as monotonous by children. The research employs a qualitative classroom action research model, involving the preparation of teaching tools and materials, and the planning of activities across two cycles, which includes group arrangements and modifications to task execution methods. The findings indicate improvements in student motivation across all indicators: control and autonomy (81%), engagement (89%), task persistence (80%), and learning satisfaction (87%). This research underscores the efficacy of the Engkle game method in bolstering student motivation and involvement in mathematics education.

Abstract

The role of parents in a child's education is pivotal and profoundly influential. Negative parental attitudes towards higher education can significantly impede the continuity of their child's academic pursuits. Research indicates that some parents perceive higher education as unimportant and a mere waste of time. They prioritize immediate employment over continued education, viewing it as more beneficial, especially given the high unemployment rate among college graduates. This mindset is often shaped by adverse economic conditions, low educational backgrounds of the parents, and the prohibitive costs associated with higher education. Parents struggling with economic hardship tend to prioritize immediate needs, such as securing employment, over the perceived long-term benefits of higher education. These obstacles render higher education seemingly irrelevant and less advantageous in the short term.

Abstract

The effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) method compared to conventional methods was evaluated at SDN Sekemandung 1. The importance of this topic lies in the urgent need for more effective mathematics teaching methods, given the challenges and difficulties often faced by students in this subject at the elementary school level. The research was conducted from February to March during the 2023/2024 academic year using a Quasi-Experimental design, involving two groups: Class VA as the experimental group using RME and Class VB as the control group using conventional methods, each consisting of 29 students. Mathematics learning outcomes were assessed through tests measuring students' understanding before and after the method's implementation. The study found that the average score for the experimental class was 85.34, while the control class scored 79.48, with a significant difference indicating the superiority of RME. This analysis suggests that the RME method is significantly more effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes at the elementary level compared to conventional methods, and it is recommended for broader application to enhance the quality of mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the character values of students integrated into entrepreneurship education through the Market Day program, using a qualitative research method with a case study design. The results show that this entrepreneurial activity fosters character values such as innovation, creativity, responsibility, cooperation, and self-confidence. Another interesting finding is the use of various languages in communication, including Indonesian, English, and Javanese. The conclusion of this study indicates that the Market Day program, implemented intensively in schools, provides students with the foundation to optimally internalize entrepreneurial character values. The Market Day program conducted at Muhammadiyah Pulokadang Elementary School also plays a role in establishing transactional patterns that encourage students to actively communicate while selling

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe phenomena in the educational environment in elementary schools related to the concept of the restitution triangle in the development of school culture. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a focus on principled leadership as a long-term approach to developing individuals and organizations. This research involves several steps such as identifying class and school culture, applying the appropriate restitution triangle concept, establishing a positive culture based on observations, as well as implementing and evaluating the scheme. The general results of this research are the application of related strategies to instill positive discipline in students including: (1) Building positive relationships between teachers and students; (2) Explain rules and expectations clearly; (3) Increasing positive reinforcement through praise and rewards; (4) Implement appropriate and consistent consequences for violations; (5) Master social and emotional skills, such as communication, problem solving, and managing emotions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan budaya positif dalam membentuk karakter murid sesuai dengan profil Pelajar Pancasila di SD Negeri Totogan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa budaya positif diterapkan melalui berbagai cara, seperti pembentukan keyakinan kelas yang menciptakan suasana belajar kondusif, segitiga restitusi yang mendorong murid untuk memahami tujuan, mengembangkan disiplin positif, serta memperbaiki diri setelah melakukan kesalahan, dan rutinitas harian yang diatur dalam SOP sekolah untuk memperkuat karakter murid. Selain itu, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, baik yang bersifat wajib maupun pilihan, menjadi sarana bagi murid untuk mengasah potensi, minat, dan bakat di bidang sains, pengetahuan, agama, dan olahraga. Kesimpulannya, penerapan budaya positif di SD Negeri Totogan memainkan peran signifikan dalam membentuk karakter murid sesuai profil Pelajar Pancasila. Budaya positif ini terbukti menjadi fondasi kuat dalam pengembangan karakter murid yang sejalan dengan prinsip kurikulum merdeka

Abstract

Differentiated instruction is an approach that places students at the center of learning, considering their needs, interests, and individual abilities to create inclusive and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated mathematics instruction by teachers at Muhammadiyah Canden Elementary School using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from the analysis of previous research journals, validated through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum provides teachers with flexibility to develop adaptive thematic learning. The implementation of differentiated instruction involves task variations, student grouping, and the use of tailored teaching modules. This study concludes that differentiated instruction has significant potential to enhance educational quality within the Merdeka Curriculum framework. Recommendations are provided to strengthen collaboration between teachers, schools, and parents, as well as to ensure adequate policy support for the optimal implementation of differentiated instruction

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the zoning system at Sitiharjo State Elementary School on students' learning interests. This study was conducted from July to August 2024 using a qualitative method with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that: (1) the implementation of the zoning system has a positive effect on the feelings of happiness of students who live close to the school; (2) the effect of zoning on students' interest in learning activities is only felt at the beginning of learning, as seen from complaints from students who miss school after a long holiday and feel uncomfortable studying at home; (3) the implementation of the zoning system also affects students' attention to learning activities, as seen from their increased enthusiasm for learning at school by studying more conducively; (4) the zoning system affects student involvement as seen from their active participation in the learning process and group discussions

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of technology to improve literacy of students with special needs. Technology has great potential to support more adaptive and personalized learning. The method used in this study is a survey with a qualitative approach. The research sample included Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in Mlati District, Sleman Regency and the instruments used consisted of closed questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to collect data related to the use of technology in learning. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and regression tests. The results of the study indicate that technology integration, such as adaptive learning applications, digital assistive devices, and e-learning platforms, is effective in improving student literacy, both basic and digital literacy. The conclusion of this study is that technology has an important role in education, with a significant impact on improving students' literacy skills. Therefore, it is recommended that the government and educational institutions continue to support the use of technology in education through training teachers and providing appropriate devices
