Abstract

Improving the quality of administrative services in educational institutions has become a priority in the current digital era. Management Information Systems (MIS) are implemented as solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in managing educational administration. However, several challenges remain, including user dissatisfaction with system usability, accessibility, and responsiveness. This study aims to explore the impact of MIS implementation on the quality of administrative services in education, focusing on user experience and operational efficiency within educational institutions. The research employs a literature review method, involving an in-depth analysis of relevant literature, including journals, books, and research reports. The findings indicate that the success of MIS depends not only on technical aspects but also on the management of human resources, IT infrastructure, and responsive strategies tailored to user needs. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for educational institutions to formulate more effective MIS management strategies, thereby delivering high-quality administrative services.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has encouraged educational institutions to adopt information technology to enhance efficiency and transparency, one of which is through the use of student registration websites. This study aims to evaluate user satisfaction and the effectiveness of the student registration website in the new student admission process at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Kasomalang Subang West Java. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving observations and interviews with the primary users of the website, namely prospective students and parents. The results indicate that while users are satisfied with the ease of access and information transparency, there are some challenges related to access speed and dependence on internet connectivity. Furthermore, the registration website has been proven to improve data efficiency and accuracy, although it still requires technical improvements to optimize its functionality. These findings contribute to the literature on the application of technology in education, particularly in managing student registration administration. Practically, this research provides recommendations for Islamic educational institutions to continue improving web-based information systems to be more responsive and efficient.

Abstract

The integration of digital technology in elementary school academic administration still faces various challenges, especially in the management of student report cards. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the implementation of the e-report card system at SD Intan Al-Sali Bandung City as part of the School Management Information System. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and document analysis. Participants consisted of 10 teachers, 3 administrative staff, and school management during the two-month implementation. The results showed that the e-report card increased the speed and accuracy of grade input, facilitated access to information for parents, and improved administrative efficiency. However, obstacles such as the limited internet network and the absence of the autosave feature are still obstacles. The study concludes that the successful implementation of e-report cards is highly dependent on infrastructure support and continuous user training. These findings can be a reference for schools and policy makers in encouraging the digitalization of ICT-based academic administration.

Abstract

Student engagement in history education often remains low due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods that fail to meet the interactive needs of digital-native learners. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the interactive media platform Kahoot in enhancing student participation in Islamic Cultural History classes. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through participant observation, structured interviews, and visual documentation during classroom activities at MAN 2 Kota Sukabumi. The findings reveal that the integration of Kahoot significantly increased student engagement, demonstrated by heightened motivation, active participation in quizzes, and improved conceptual understanding. Gamification features such as point systems, time-based challenges, and peer competition created a more dynamic and enjoyable learning environment. These results reinforce the existing literature on the pedagogical potential of game-based learning, particularly in Islamic educational contexts. The study recommends the integration of interactive digital tools as an innovative instructional strategy to foster deeper engagement and improve learning quality, especially in narrative and historically rich subjects

Abstract

The quality of Fiqh instruction at the Madrasah Aliyah level continues to face challenges, particularly in fostering student engagement and deep conceptual understanding of normative-reflective content. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving student learning outcomes on the topic of "Pillars and Conditions of Marriage" at MAN 2 Kota Sukabumi. Employing a quantitative approach with a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, the study was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through formative tests, classroom observations, and student motivation questionnaires, and analyzed using both descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings reveal an increase in students’ average scores from 69.30 in the first cycle to 75.77 in the second cycle, with mastery learning rising from 59% to 94%. Additionally, affective and psychomotor indicators showed substantial improvement. These results indicate that PBL is effective in fostering active student engagement and enhancing contextual understanding in Fiqh learning. The practical implication suggests the broader adoption of PBL in religious education to develop students’ holistic 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Improving the quality of basic education is a persistent challenge, particularly for private schools in semi-urban areas with limited resources and weak community involvement. This study explores effective school-community collaboration strategies to support basic education quality through a case study at SD Muslimin Panyawungan 02, Bandung Regency. A qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design was used. Data were gathered through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, and analysis of documentation. Findings show that collaboration includes financial support, participation in religious and social programs such as Islamic holiday events and mass circumcision, and involvement in parenting and character education through P5 (Project-Based Learning). Communication between school and parents occurs via formal meetings and digital platforms like WhatsApp, enhancing engagement. Key barriers include time constraints and limited parental understanding of their role, which are addressed through adaptive strategies. This study supports Epstein’s theory of school-family involvement and Senge’s learning organization concept, framing schools as collaborative learning centers. Inclusive, context-based collaboration proves essential for sustainably improving the quality of basic education.

Abstract

The declining interest of students in selecting the Islamic Religious Studies major at State Islamic Senior High Schools (MAN) in Sukabumi Regency raises concerns about the sustainability of Islamic education pathways. This study aims to examine the influence of learning motivation and family support on students’ interest in choosing this major. A quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design was employed. A sample of 194 eleventh-grade students from three MAN institutions was selected using the Taro Yamane formula and simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analysis via SPSS version 23. The findings revealed that learning motivation contributed 15.9%, family support contributed 19.3%, and both variables jointly explained 24.6% of the variance in students’ interest. These results highlight the significance of psychosocial factors in educational decision-making. The study underscores the practical need to strengthen family involvement and enhance students’ intrinsic motivation to support the continuity of Islamic Religious Studies programs. Further research is recommended to incorporate broader variables and extend the geographic scope for a more comprehensive understanding of the issue.

Abstract

This study investigates the contribution of mosque-based youth activities, congregational Dhuhr prayer, and Qur’an memorization (tahfizh) to the development of students’ religious character at SMP Negeri 5 Satu Atap Gegerbitung, Sukabumi Regency, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach with a causal-correlational design, the study involved a population of 237 students, from which 70 respondents were selected through proportional sampling techniques. The findings reveal that youth mosque activities do not exhibit a statistically significant contribution to students' religious character (p = 0.123 > 0.05; t = 1.563 < t-table = 1.994). However, congregational Dhuhr prayer and Qur’an memorization were found to significantly contribute to students’ religious character. Specifically, congregational prayer showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.652 with a determination coefficient (r²) of 0.425 (42.5%), while Qur’an memorization demonstrated a stronger correlation (r = 0.971) with a determination coefficient (r²) of 0.943 (94.3%). Furthermore, the multiple linear regression analysis confirmed that all independent variables collectively contribute to the religious character of students, yielding a combined correlation coefficient (r) of 0.974 and a coefficient of determination (r²) of 0.949 (94.9%). These findings underscore the significant role of school-based religious practices in shaping students’ moral and spiritual development.

Abstract

The integration of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in assessment is crucial to achieving the 2013 Curriculum’s goal of fostering students’ critical, analytical, and evaluative competencies. However, in Islamic Religious Education, assessments often remain dominated by Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), creating a gap between curricular aspirations and actual practice. This study aimed to analyze the cognitive levels of 124 test items in the Grade X Al-Qur’an Hadis textbook published by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (2020), focusing on the distribution of HOTS and LOTS questions. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, document analysis was conducted using Bloom’s revised taxonomy to classify each item into C1–C6 cognitive levels. The findings revealed that 88.7% of items fell under LOTS (C1–C3), while only 11.3% met HOTS criteria (C4–C5), with no items at the C6 level. These results indicate that the textbook’s assessments largely measure basic knowledge and comprehension, limiting opportunities for higher-order cognitive engagement. The study implies an urgent need to reform question construction strategies in religious education materials to better align with curriculum goals, enhance critical and creative thinking, and support students’ readiness for complex problem-solving in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a central role in shaping the character and morals of students at various levels of education. However, challenges arise when IRE policies are not fully able to adapt to technological developments and the demands of 21st-century learning. This study aims to analyze the application of the deep learning approach as an innovation in improving the quality of PAI policies. The research method used is a qualitative study based on literature analysis to explore the potential, opportunities, and obstacles to implementing deep learning in the context of religious education. The results show that the integration of deep learning can improve the personalization of the learning process, strengthen data-based evaluation, and encourage more adaptive and responsive policy effectiveness. However, the application of this technology faces a number of obstacles, including limited digital infrastructure, low teacher technological competence, and ethical issues surrounding data use. The implications of this study emphasize the need for flexible PAI policies and comprehensive teacher training programs so that the application of deep learning can run optimally. Thus, this study provides a conceptual contribution to the transformation of religious education policies towards a system that is of higher quality, sustainable, and relevant to the digital era.
