Abstract

This study examines technology-based learning innovation as a quality assurance strategy at SMP Negeri 2 Arjasari, a junior high school in a rural area of Bandung Regency, Indonesia. Despite limited technological infrastructure, the school has implemented creative solutions to improve learning quality through teacher-driven innovations. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, and document analysis from January to April 2025. The findings show that strategic resource management, including shared use of projectors and adaptation of personal devices, combined with project-based learning methods, significantly enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes. The study confirms that effective technology integration in resource-limited environments relies more on pedagogical innovation and teacher collaboration than on infrastructure availability. These results challenge conventional assumptions about the relationship between technology and educational quality, offering an alternative model relevant to rural schools in developing countries. This research enriches the discourse on educational technology by highlighting context-appropriate innovation strategies and their implications for quality assurance frameworks in low-resource settings. The findings extend the concept of process-based quality assurance in schools with limited resources.

Abstract

Education in the era of globalization requires not only academic mastery, but also 21st-century skills that include character competencies, critical thinking skills, and life skills. In the context of education in Indonesia, Graduate Competency Standards (SKL) are the foundation for ensuring graduates have adequate attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Effective implementation of SKL must be integrated with the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) to ensure sustainable education quality. Utsman bin Affan Boarding School adopts a unique approach by integrating the general education curriculum based on the Merdeka Curriculum, the Islamic boarding school curriculum, and project-based character and skills development programs (life skills). This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, which aims to explore and describe internal quality assurance practices at Utsman bin Affan Islamic Boarding School, especially in terms of Graduate Competency Standards. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Graduate Competency Standards in the Internal Quality Assurance System (PMI) at Utsman bin Affan Boarding School. Specifically, this study seeks to identify the challenges faced, the strategies implemented, and the impact of SKL implementation on the quality of graduates produced.

Abstract

The quality of education in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools faces demands for adaptive, contextual, and continuous improvement in line with global dynamics and stakeholder needs. This study aims to analyze quality-control strategies grounded in Total Quality Management (TQM), operationalized through the PDCA cycle and integrated with Islamic values, at SDIT Fithrah Insani 2 Bandung. The methodology adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with a single-case study design; data were collected through interviews, observations, and institutional document analysis. The findings indicate three primary levers: (1) data-driven periodic evaluation in the Check-Act phase; (2) teacher–parent engagement that strengthens follow-up improvements; and (3) the internalization of the values of amanah (trustworthiness), honesty, and ihsan within instructional practice, which together enhance student learning outcomes and school–community collaboration. This study extends understanding of TQM in value-based education by showing that aligning quality strategies with an institution’s sociocultural characteristics is a prerequisite for effectiveness. The practical implications include designing a quality-control model responsive to local context and leveraging technology and community participation for a continuous feedback cycle, which is relevant for replication in similar schools.

Abstract

Accreditation assessment by the National Accreditation Agency for Schools/Madrasahs (BAN-S/M) is an important instrument in improving the quality of education. However, its implementation often faces challenges, such as complex preparations and limited resources. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore teachers' perceptions of the implementation of accreditation at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Mubtadin Kp. Cipeundeuy. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The results show differences in perceptions among teachers. Some teachers view accreditation as a motivation to improve the quality of learning and professionalism, while others consider the process burdensome due to administrative burdens, lack of incentives, and uneven distribution of resources. The madrasah received a C accreditation, which had an impact on its attractiveness to prospective students, even though student discipline remained high. These findings emphasize the need for more equitable and contextual accreditation policies, accompanied by government support to strengthen teacher welfare and improve the quality of education in madrasahs. Accreditation designed with the actual conditions of schools in mind can be a means of professional development for teachers while also increasing public trust.

Abstract

Teacher professional development in vocational schools remains a challenge in Indonesia, particularly in integrating technology, project-based learning (PjBL), and reflective practices into teaching. This study examined the effectiveness of an integrative training model combining blended learning, lesson study, reflective practice, and professional learning communities (PLC) in improving teachers’ competence and its impact on students. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 28 teachers and 245 students at SMK PGRI Karisma Bangsa through pre- and post-tests, interviews, observations, and document analysis. Results showed significant improvements in educational technology (62.5 to 80.4), PjBL (59.7 to 77.8), and interactive media development (58.9 to 81.2) (p < 0.001). Qualitative findings revealed higher teacher confidence, stronger reflective skills, and sustained collaboration through PLC. Students perceived classes as more engaging (76%), easier to understand (69%), and more relevant to workplace contexts (64%). These findings confirm previous studies on blended learning and PjBL, but add novelty by integrating four approaches simultaneously. The study suggests reflective-collaborative dimensions should complement the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge)  framework to sustain teacher competence and offers a scalable model for vocational teacher training.

Abstract

Effective Islamic education management necessitates a robust theological foundation to ensure that institutional practices remain aligned with the core principles of Islam. A comprehensive theological understanding not only guides the formulation of educational policies and strategic directions but also shapes the underlying values, ethics, and objectives of Islamic education. Employing a conceptual framework and literature review methodology, this study critically examines Islamic theological sources, scholarly documents, and prior empirical research related to educational management. The analysis highlights that the principles of tauhid (divine unity), akhlaq (ethical conduct), and sharia (Islamic law) constitute the fundamental pillars of management within Islamic educational institutions. These theological tenets influence key managerial functions, including curriculum development, character formation, human resource management, and administrative governance. Integrating these values into management practices not only ensures coherence with Islamic teachings but also enhances educational quality, teacher professionalism, and stakeholder trust. The study underscores the imperative of embedding theological values as a strategic framework for achieving holistic and sustainable Islamic education.

Abstract

Education quality assurance is one of the important instruments in realizing quality and sustainable education. This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of the implementation of quality assurance standards on improving the quality of education at MI Terpadu Bina Insan Rabbani. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of quality assurance standards has had a positive impact on several important aspects, such as increased teacher competence, learning effectiveness, more organized school management, and parental satisfaction with education services. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation, such as limited human resources, high administrative burden and the need for continuous training for all school elements. This study recommends the need to strengthen internal supervision programs, increase the capacity of teachers and education personnel, and integrate the quality assurance system into the overall school work culture so that the quality of education can be continuously improved.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and develop effective instructional designs for teaching Indonesian language in elementary schools. The main problems identified include low student motivation, difficulties in reading comprehension, limited learning media, and minimal student engagement during the learning process. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach through observation, teacher interviews, and literature study. The results show that the application of instructional design based on a constructivist approach, the use of visual and digital media, and the application of active learning strategies can improve students' conceptual understanding, reading interest, and literacy skills. In addition, student engagement in learning increased significantly when teachers acted as facilitators and mentors. This study recommends the development of adaptive, contextual, and student-centered instructional designs to create a more interactive, meaningful, and relevant Indonesian language learning process that meets the developmental needs of elementary school students.
