Abstract

The growth of the local tourism sector has encouraged the development of accommodation businesses such as homestays, including M2 Homestay, which is located in a strategic tourist area. However, the management of this homestay is still carried out conventionally, especially in terms of financial recording and business reporting, which are manually done and often inefficient. A lack of digital literacy is one of the main obstacles to implementing a technology-based management system. To address this issue, this community service program aimed to provide practical training in the use of Microsoft Excel and assist in the digitalization of business reports for the management of M2 Homestay. The implementation methods included direct training, the development of digital report templates, and hands-on assistance with the application of Excel-based recording systems. The results showed that the homestay manager gained basic skills in using Excel for business needs, including daily financial tracking, room occupancy records, and monthly reporting through visual graphs. The program had a noticeable impact, such as improved time efficiency in report preparation, greater accuracy in data recording, enhanced professionalism in business management, and increased awareness of the importance of digital tools in supporting business sustainability. This initiative demonstrates that simple technological interventions can significantly strengthen small tourism-based enterprises.

Abstract

In the Indonesian Government regulations, Fiduciary has been stated in Law No. 42 of 1999. Where the definition of Fiduciary is a process of transferring ownership of an object based on trust, but the object is still in the control of the party who transferred it. So that the Law becomes a means of creating a community rule that exists for everyone who wants to feel justice so that it becomes the main focus of the formation of legislation that must be in accordance with the principles of justice and the function of law as social control, then this relationship between law and social values ​​is interrelated where law as a solution to problems for society in general. Law has a dual function on the one hand is an action that may be so institutionalized which is then used by society to achieve a goal of solving problems in the responsibility of the police regarding the security of the Execution of Fiduciary Guarantees. Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology highlights the importance of mastering website development skills, especially for vocational high school students who are being prepared for the workforce. This training aimed to improve the understanding and skills of students at SMK Pangeran Antasari in creating and managing websites using the WordPress platform, known for its user-friendly interface and minimal programming requirements. The activity involved 30 students from grades XI and XII in the Computer and Network Engineering program, divided into two groups to ensure effective learning. The training was carried out in five sessions: an introduction to WordPress and the importance of website development in the digital era; WordPress installation; content creation using the Gutenberg editor; theme and plugin management; and an independent implementation session where students designed their own websites. The training adopted a hands-on approach, with direct assistance provided to ensure thorough understanding of each technical stage. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' ability to independently create websites. They were able to manage website layouts, add multimedia content, and integrate additional features such as contact forms and galleries. Beyond technical skills, the training also fostered students’ creativity in designing websites for portfolios, blogs, or entrepreneurial purposes. In conclusion, WordPress-based training effectively strengthened the digital competencies of vocational high school students, particularly in creating informative and functional websites. This initiative is expected to provide valuable preparation for the technology-driven job market and can serve as a model for similar training programs in other schools. Abstract

This training on the utilization of the Wordwall application was conducted to enhance teachers’ abilities in creating digital and interactive quizzes or exams. The event took place on October 19, 2024, at Yayasan Sekolah Ghafa and was attended by 13 elementary school teachers. Wordwall is a web-based platform that allows educators to design a variety of question formats such as multiple-choice, matching pairs, and educational games, usable both online and offline. During the training, participants were guided to understand the main features of Wordwall, from account creation, template selection, question input, to quiz distribution to students. The training was carried out in a face-to-face setting using a hands-on approach, enabling participants to actively practice and create their own quizzes. The results showed that all participants successfully developed quiz questions independently using the templates provided by Wordwall. Teachers expressed high enthusiasm for the use of this technology, recognizing it as a tool that simplifies assessment processes and increases student engagement in learning. This activity marks an important first step toward digital transformation within Yayasan Sekolah Ghafa. It is hoped that similar training programs will continue to support teachers in mastering educational technologies that foster effective, enjoyable, and modern teaching and learning experiences

Abstract

Reading is very important for human life, especially for students. Reading is a way to dig up information from something written by someone. The main purpose of reading is to gather information and understand what a reading is. The more we read, the more information we will get. Although sometimes we get the information indirectly. Reading is also an important activity because students can absorb information in a text or reading, so the habit of reading must be fostered from an early age. One way that can be used to improve reading habits is by providing interesting reading facilities such as reading interest in the Medan City Library Archives Service. The Medan City Library was established to provide access for the public to information, knowledge, and literacy. This library is a strategic information center, offering various collections of books, magazines, and digital resources to meet the increasing needs of the community for literacy. In addition, the library also plays a role in facilitating research and development, as well as supporting literacy activities and improving literacy skills.

Abstract

The digitalization era has brought significant changes in how information is collected, processed, and utilized. One of the key fields in managing this information is data mining. However, many individuals, particularly in educational environments and the general public, still lack a proper understanding of the concepts and practical applications of data mining. This community service activity aims to provide training and basic knowledge about data mining and its benefits in data-driven decision-making. The training targeted teachers and high school students, using a combination of lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice with simple data mining tools. The results showed an increased understanding among participants regarding data mining concepts, workflows, and real-world applications, particularly in education and social contexts. This training is expected to serve as an initial step in building strong data literacy within the community to face the challenges of the digital era intelligently and productively.

Abstract

Dental and oral health services that still rely on manual recording systems often face various problems, such as difficulty in searching for data, the risk of losing information, and inefficiency in the service process. This study aims to implement a digital medical record management system to improve the efficiency and quality of services in dental and oral clinics. The methodology used includes field observations, interviews with clinic staff, and training and assistance in implementing the digital system. Based on the results of the study, the implementation of this digital system has succeeded in accelerating the patient administration process, increasing data security, and facilitating the management of more structured and integrated patient information. In addition, clinic staff reported increased efficiency in administrative work, while patients felt more satisfied with faster and more organized services. In conclusion, the implementation of a digital medical record management system has proven effective in overcoming the constraints of manual data management and improving the quality of dental and oral health services. This study can be a reference for other clinics that want to carry out digital transformation in medical record management.

Abstract

The Inheritance issues frequently become a source of conflict within families, primarily due to the limited understanding among Muslim communities regarding the distribution of inheritance in accordance with Islamic law (fara’id). One of the main obstacles faced is the difficulty in accurately calculating each heir’s rightful share based on Sharia principles. In many cases, confusion also arises even among religious leaders when determining inheritance portions according to Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). To address this challenge, this community service initiative focused on the socialization of Islamic inheritance distribution through the use of a digital application called “Hitung Waris” (Inheritance Calculator). This application is designed with informative and interactive features, including definitions of inheritance, relevant Quranic and Hadith-based legal foundations, identification of heirs along with their respective rights and conditions, and a simulation for inheritance calculations. The application’s calculation process follows several stages, beginning with input on the deceased (muwarris), total estate (tirkah) including assets, debts, wills, and funeral expenses, followed by identifying the primary heirs, and ultimately presenting the results in accordance with fara’id rules. The socialization activity was conducted on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Al-Ikhlas Mosque, Pasar 1 Rel, Medan Marelan District, and was attended by the mosque’s Subuh prayer congregation. The evaluation of this activity revealed strong enthusiasm from participants during discussions and Q&A sessions, along with improved understanding of Sharia-compliant inheritance distribution. The digital application proved to be a practical and accurate tool in helping the community understand and calculate inheritance in accordance with Islamic justice principles. Thus, this initiative makes a tangible contribution to promoting literacy in Islamic inheritance law and fair wealth distribution through a technology-based approach in the digital era.

Abstract

UMKM laundry merupakan jenis usaha yang sangat bergantung pada kinerja crew dalam menjalankan aktivitas operasional sehari-hari. Dalam kondisi kerja yang cukup sibuk dan menuntut kecepatan, dibutuhkan sosok pemimpin atau leader tim yang mampu mengatur alur kerja dan menjaga produktivitas tim. Sayangnya, proses pemilihan leader di banyak UMKM masih dilakukan secara subjektif, tanpa menggunakan data yang benar-benar mencerminkan kinerja setiap anggota. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mencoba menawarkan solusi berupa sistem pendukung keputusan (SPK) yang memanfaatkan rekam jejak kinerja crew sebagai dasar dalam menentukan calon leader. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui serangkaian tahapan, mulai dari identifikasi kebutuhan UMKM, pelatihan pencatatan kinerja Crew, untuk membantu menentukan calon leader yang paling layak. Beberapa aspek yang dijadikan kriteria antara lain ketepatan waktu, jumlah cucian yang diselesaikan, kedisiplinan, kemampuan bekerja sama, serta loyalitas kerja. Data kinerja dikumpulkan selama beberapa bulan dan diolah dalam sistem sederhana yang bisa dipahami dan digunakan langsung oleh pemilik usaha. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa mitra UMKM merasa terbantu karena kini memiliki acuan yang jelas dan objektif dalam memilih leader. Selain itu, adanya sistem penilaian kinerja ini juga memicu semangat kerja para Crew, karena mereka menyadari bahwa peluang untuk naik posisi bergantung pada performa nyata, bukan faktor kedekatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini tidak hanya menghasilkan solusi teknis, tetapi juga membawa dampak positif terhadap budaya kerja dan semangat profesionalisme di lingkungan usaha. Dengan pendekatan yang aplikatif dan partisipatif, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model replikasi untuk UMKM lain yang menghadapi persoalan serupa. Penerapan sistem berbasis data sederhana ini membuktikan bahwa digitalisasi pengambilan keputusan bisa dilakukan secara bertahap dan tetap relevan di skala usaha mikro dan kecil. Kesimpulannya, pemanfaatan rekam jejak kinerja dalam bentuk sistem pendukung keputusan terbukti bisa membantu UMKM laundry dalam memilih leader yang tepat. Sistem ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas pengambilan keputusan, tetapi juga menciptakan budaya kerja yang lebih kompetitif dan profesional. Ke depan, sistem semacam ini berpotensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dan diterapkan di berbagai jenis UMKM lainnya yang juga memiliki tantangan dalam mengelola sumber daya manusia secara efektif.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) technology plays a significant role in enhancing environmental efficiency and comfort, including in supporting teaching and learning activities. This community service program aimed to design and implement an IoT-based automatic control system for lights and fans in the classrooms of MTs Miftahussalam. The system was developed using an ESP8266 microcontroller, DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor, and relay modules to control devices automatically based on environmental data. Monitoring and control interfaces were handled via the Arduino IoT Cloud platform, allowing real-time device management through web or mobile applications. The implementation results showed that the system operated stably and effectively, providing positive impacts on classroom comfort and energy efficiency. This activity also successfully improved teachers' technological literacy through hands-on training and practical system assembly.
