Abstract

One of the SDGs elements related to the fulfillment of access to clean drinking water and sanitation must be achieved by the world community by 2030. The purpose of this research was to implement a rainwater harvesting system integrated with agriculture and livestock for alternative clean water needs in Jatikuwung Village. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method. The model used in this research is the ADDIE model. This ADDIE model has 5 stages, namely (1) Analysis: analyzing the situation, (2) Design: designing for product design to be made, (3) Development: producing or making products, (4) Implementation: implementing of limited product testing in the field, and (5) Evaluation: evaluating the cycles and end-product. This research was conducted in Jatikuwung Village. This location experiences a water crisis during the dry season. The subject of this research was designing Rainwater Harvesting Integrated Farming by KKN-T students in Jatikuwung village. The object of this research is the process of Rainwater Harvesting Integrated Farming flow that can be utilized in life. This research was conducted in October-November 2022 and was limited to the development stage. The results of this research were rainwater harvesting integrated farming through a rainwater harvesting system that produced clean water. This system can be useful for life integrated with catfish farms that get food from maggots, and water in catfish flows to plants.

Abstract

Indonesia's food consumption rises as a result of the country's rapid population expansion. To preserve food security, it is required to fulfill the community's food requirements so that the people's welfare is ensured. This article aims to find out the efforts made by the villagers of Jerukawit Karanganyar to preserve food security through the care of the garden medicinal plants (asman toga). The community of Jeruksawit Karanganyar created a group to plant toga plants on the empty area surrounding their home. There are eleven dasa wisma target groups and one core group. According to the survey's findings, market-sold plant output remains low. As a result of an ineffective marketing plan, support is still required.

Abstract

The Student Community Service (KKN) is a routine program of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in Indonesia, emphasizing curricular academic activities and directly involving the community. This program aims to provide skills in the form of training on the utilization of household organic waste into compost as an alternative solution in reducing the accumulation of waste at the Pancuran TPA, Selokaton Village. The Thematic KKN program for processing compost using Berkeley Method by empowering women is carried out in two sessions: a socialization session and a practical session on processing compost from organic waste. This activity was carried out by empowering women members of the PKK RT/RW 001/008 Ngaglik Sub-Village, Selokaton, Gondangrejo, Karanganyar. The result ran smoothly, and the interest and enthusiasm of the residents were high. The results of the compost are scheduled to be ready for harvest in March 2023 (60 days after manufacture).

Abstract

This research was conducted in the village of Dayu, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency by promoting regional culture. The activities carried out were themed with the name Cemoro Pitu Nganyam Budoyo which aims to promote the tourism potential of Dayu village to the public. In addition, this activity is an increase in the strategy or efforts of the Dayu village government to develop cultural potential, which at the same time provides space for the community to improve the economy through marketing local culture such as culinary, crafts, agricultural products, and others. The methods carried out are in the form of committee formation, location determination, floor plan design, and event concept, progress of activity design, marketing and publication, implementation, and sustainable empowerment programs. KKNT students also participated in the event committee along with youths from Dayu village, the head of Grenjeng hamlet. Determining the plan design needs to pay attention to several things related to the concept of the event including the location of the main stage, invited guests, culinary tourism spots, visitor selfie spots, children's play spots (traditional toys), off road spots, free spots. Cultural market activities and pet rope workshops provide sustainable benefits for the Dayu community in addition to Cemoro Pitu which can become a new tourist destination, pet ropes can open up opportunities to increase the community's economy and new jobs. The work of pet ropes made by the Dayu community can support the village program, namely Dayu as a tourist village by making pet rope creations as typical souvenirs.

Abstract

Wonosari Village is a village located in Gondangrejo, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. This village has several potentials that can be utilized and developed. Community Service Institute and Organizational Development Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (LPMPP UMS) through Thematic Real Work Lectures (Thematic KKN) has tried to reduce and provide solutions to the problems faced by villages and their communities in this village. This Thematic KKN is carried out over a period of three months, and it is part of the 2022 Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM). One of the programs that has been carried out in this village is Blue Pea Flower Processing. This program was well implemented and involved various partners, such as village officials, youth organizations and village communities.

Abstract

Education will encourage people to learn actively, independently, and empower all the potential that exists within the individual. One way to do this is by studying. Learning is a process of effort that is carried out by a person to obtain a new change in behavior as a whole, as a result of his own experience in interaction with his environment. To achieve changes in children, children need to have skills in learning where learning skills are a system, methods and techniques that are well mastered by students regarding knowledge material or learning material delivered by the teacher in an agile, effective and efficient manner. Improving learning skills for children in Jungsemi village is carried out through the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program. KKN is an intracurricular activity that combines the implementation of the Tri Dharma of higher education, namely education, research, and community service. Activities in the field of education carried out are tutoring activities where the material being guided is Mathematics, English and Skills with the target being elementary school children in Jungsemi village. This tutoring activity aims to fill in positive activities during winter break.

Abstract

Data 2022 shows that the total number of UMS students is 36,712 students. With such a number, the impact on the high demand for temporary housing (kos). With this large number of boarding houses, violations of social rules and norms are also high. Based on this, this community service aims to develop an information system that makes it easier for members of the public to report violations. The methods used in this activity are situation analysis, system creation, socialization, and system handover. The results of the activity show that community service activities are going well with the main indicator, namely the information system has been successfully created and socialized to residents and the UMS Disciplinary Team. However, for its implementation, further coordination is still needed with Bagmawa UMS, as well as improving the system according to needs.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the cancer disease with the second highest prevalence after cervical cancer in Indonesia in 2013, also the prevalence of breast cancer is around 2.4% in Yogyakarta. Meanwhile in Central Java Province, the prevalence of breast cancer is around 0.5%. The aim of the community service is an effort to improve public health through health education about breast self-examination. The method of the community service is educations people through a classical study, question and answer as well as discussion and simulation. There were findings of 85% abnormalities in the breasts and no self-handlers were treated. The provision of health education to couples of childbearing age can help women to develop knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors in preventing breast cancer with one of the efforts to do self-examination.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a vulnerable period with psychological disturbances in the mother. Anxiety can arise due to worries about the pregnancy and the fetus it contains. Especially when the Covid-19 pandemic emerged, causing anxiety for pregnant women, especially the fear of being infected with Covid-19. The aim of PKM (community service) activities is to improve skills in performing dhikr relaxation techniques in pregnant women. Method of Implementation: The partner for this PKM activity is the class of pregnant women at Posyandu Purbosari in Purbayan Village, Sukoharjo district. It is carried out by holding training using lecture and discussion methods, simulations and demonstrations. Then the pregnant women are accompanied to practice dhikr relaxation technique skills. The training conducted has been able to increase the ability of pregnant women to relax dhikr by 100%. The average anxiety level of pregnant women measured by the HARS scale is a score of eight, meaning that pregnant women are in the mild anxiety category. Based on the interview results, the majority of pregnant women said they felt calmer and more relaxed after doing dhikr relaxation exercises. Pregnant women are committed to continuing the practice independently using the dhikr relaxation guide video at their respective homes. Conclusion: Pregnant women are able to practice the dhikr relaxation method taught, feel more relaxed and calm after doing the training. The results of the evaluation in the last week showed that mothers were able to do dhikr relaxation exercises independently at their respective homes using the video guide provided.

Abstract

It is well-known that People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) are denied and avoided by their own families. This is a very heavy social burden that must be borne by PLWHA. Therefore, the role of Peer Support Groups (PSG) as community empowerment is very important to improve the living quality of PLWHA. In this study, community service activities were conducted to optimize the role of PSG in improving the living quality of PLWHA in Pati Regency. Currently, Pati is the fourth highest city with PLWHA in Central Java, Indonesia. The community service utilized guidance participation, which prioritizes the involvement of the community in the activities. The implementation involved analytical methods for problem-solving and completion of the study. Two meetings were held at the Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) Clinic of Soewondo Pati Hospital. In average, one activity was attended by 5-8 participants. They are the volunteer members from PSG Rumah Matahari. The meetings focused on brainstorming sessions and on providing counselling about the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) program, which aimed to enhance knowledge about PMTCT among PSG Rumah Matahari volunteers, especially in assisting pregnant women with PLWHA. The results show that the community service activities successfully highlighted the importance of PSG in improving the quality of life for PLWHA. The PMTCT program was well understood by the PSG Rumah Matahari volunteers, indicating the effectiveness of the training.
